Park Playground

👍👍 I do not know who maintains this, but thank you. Nice sand park that we visited almost every night during our stay. Bathrooms must be maintained by someone else....not well looked after. People often mention kids, sand, playground, park, play,

This is my children's favorite playground. It is clean with clean restrooms and a COLD drinking fountain. Also, plenty of other children to play with.

Great playground with lots of slides, monkey bars and things to jump and climb on. The ground is sand which may be a negative for some.

One child’s swing is broken. Otherwise an amazing park. A lot of abandoned kids flip flops though.

The only park we've seen so far that has swing but they need to add more. It only has 4 total (2 baby swing and 2 for older kids). It has a lot of slide for younger and older kids. Bring a bucket and shovel and the kids will enjoy digging the sand as well. Limited parking spots but has shaded picnic table and benches. The bathroom is old but clean.

Personally not a fan. It's sand and no shade. The park is very popular and always has plenty of kids to play with. All I can ever think of is the stray cats that might be using it.

My son absolutely loves it here. Lots of room to play. Limited seating for adults however. But, my son is young so I have to walk around with him.

A nice playground and very good sized too. It is showing its age and there is a little bit of wear and tear, but the facility managers do seem to be trying to care for it.

Great and popular playground for kids who have base access. This is a giant sandbox with multiple play activities and a fun social gathering place for little ones to interact with each other. Parent overwatch bench has great view of area, but no shade. Bring sunscreen.

This park hasn't changed much in years. For the amount of use it gets, it receives very little attention from the Navy. There are parts cracking and breaking a part. The sand needs racked and vegetation control would help. Also, there is zero lighting around this park and as it gets dark early during the winter, kids have to cut out early. Wish they'd spend more time keeping up with this park, because the kids love it.

This playground needs improvements - benches are all rusted, missing swing seats, some portions of the playground structure are cracking. The restroom is filthy- only one cubicle is functioning, faucets are functioning properly. Hope Hickam community management looks into it immediately.

This is a rather large play area on Hickam, located near the Hickam Pool. Lots of room for kids to run, climb, slide, fall down and more. The play area has a fence that goes around it, but not completely. It also has a sand surface, which is good except when there are small sticks buried in the sand and you step on them. There is also a fair amount of weeds geowing in the sandy area. Lastly, some of the equipment needs repair or will in the near future. It cane still be used, but may not last for a few more years. Beyond that, no real issues. Our kids loved it, it was safe, there are nearby facilities if needed and the beach is a short trip away. I recommend taking your kids, they will enjoy it.

👍👍 Nice beach away from the crowds at all the public beaches on the south shore! Perfect for kids because there's no waves, it's shallow, and there's lifeguards on duty. There's cabanas to rent along with SUP boards and kayaks for $10/hr or $20 for the day. There's also restrooms, an awesome beach bar/...
