Great fine dining atmosphere. They are not doing their standard tasting menu at this time because of COVID but are offering items a la carte. The good: ahi tuna cigars, duck and foie gras terrine with excellent crusty sourdough, charred broccoli side, and the green soursop chiffon cake dessert. The meh: beignets, lions mane mushrooms, butternut squash agnolotti, scallops, and the salmon. The theme throughout all of these dishes was excessive sweetness. Granted, the ingredients naturally lend sweetness to these dishes but unfortunately, it felt overpowering. The addition of other ingredients (e.g cranberries with the agnolotti and fennel with the scallops) simply did not work and detracted from the main focus. Ironically, the mango coconut tart was not sweet enough and lacked flavor. The soursop dessert was executed well - definitely recommend this. Presentation was stellar.

5-star food and service 15 minutes away from Waikiki beach. I chose Senia for my birthday dinner with my wife and my 6-year-old son and couldn't be more happy about it. I was welcomed with a birthday card signed by all employees, everyone that interacted with us was super helpful, polite and professional and we had amazing food accompanied by the best service at Senia. I also appreciate that everyone was very nice and accommodating to my son (which is not a given in fine dining restaurants).

Celebrated my birthday at Senia last month while vacationing on Oahu. To say it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had would be an understatement. Every dish hit it out of the park but we were particularly impressed with the Bone Marrow. They give you everything you need to create what is essentially a Bone Marrow Taco (on a Hawaiian Roll) and it was one of the most delicious plates I’ve had in my life. The only course that missed the mark for us was dessert - but we don’t go out to eat for the dessert so it wasn’t a big deal. The service was excellent and we loved sitting at the Chef’s Table and watching all the action. I don’t know when, but we will return! 5 stars!

We had an excellent experience seated at the counter for dinner. Service was attentive and personable, we particularly liked the snacks, the eggplant side and the sea scallops were slightly weaker compared to the ahi cigar, steak tar tart & bone marrow dish but overall enjoyable. Dishes were tasty and looked like art. Will be back when in Oahu again.

WOW. That’s the only word I could think of when eating the incredible dishes at this restaurant. The food here is just on a different level. Even though a couple of the dishes I wanted to try were sold out, the dishes I did order were so delicious. Haven’t had a dining experience like this since I was in Italy. A MUST TRY when on Oahu. Just spectacular. 11/10

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was so unique and unlike anything I've experienced before. Cocktails were delicious and fun. The service was just as good. Presentation was on point. I cannot critique a single thing about the awesome dinner my wife and I had. 10/10 - Highly recommended.

Chef’s kiss! The best meal I’ve had on Oahu! Exceptional food, service, presentation, and all around experience. Each course was flawless with flavors I hadn’t previously seen work together so perfectly. Highly recommend if you can get a reservation.

I’m a semi-regular at Senia, and it is one of the BEST restaurants in Honolulu. If you’re visiting or living here and can make plans in advance for reservations, you should definitely pay this place a visit!

We were very happy that Senia has finally opened again! I reserved a table for 4 prior of 5 weeks to the dinner. Highly recommend to plan ahead for special occasions and if you have a big group of table. First of all, service is amazing as always! Friendly staffs and they seem to know their menu really well. I have to say Senia has a great menu of cocktails! 007 is perfect during the summer for a refreshing taste of nice Gin and chili Vodka with a blend of cucumber, yuzu and egg white. We ordered quite a bit of food for 4. This review is wrote 2 months after I visited. On top of my head, here are dishes I enjoyed the most. Ahi Cigars Roasted Bone Marrow with Hawaiian Sweet Bread is bliss point, it also comes with 3 variety of Big Island Salts Porchetta, and Panisse Oh if you loved pandan, you must order Springs for dessert! You can find photos as below

Amazing restaurant and experience, highly recommend if you can get a reservation. Imaginative cuisine flawlessly executed, every dish spot on in terms of flavor and balance. The bar was accommodating and able to pull off riffs on classic island cocktails, and happily helped make the non-alcoholic spritzers a bit sweeter to suit our tween childrens' palates. Certainly the best meal we've had on Oahu and have our kids begging to go back...

This was the best meal we've done in Honolulu. Every course was well thought out for flavor, presentation, and the pairing with wine. We sat at the chef's counter, and the interaction was worth every penny. The kitchen staff was friendly and fun. Chef explained everything and answered many questions my son (16) had for him.

Outstanding meal - delicious, beautifully plated & nicely paired with wines! Service was attentive but not intrusive, & it was a treat to watch the calm, purposive kitchen ballet from a counter seat. Hope to be back on a future visit!

Went here with my boyfriend to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. This had to be one of the best dinners we have ever had. We would put it on par with a Michelin star dinner we had earlier this year. The dishes were unique and surprised us in the most pleasant way. The service was excellent and they really made us feel special for our occasion.

Wow, wow and wow..our server knew the menu, made recommendations and was just pleasant. Everything we ordered was amazing. The flavors are so complex. The smoke ahi as a snack to start was sheer bliss in your mouth. Then the venison tartare, scallops melts in your mouth. The bone marrow to round out our meals along with the mushrooms. This has been the best I've ever had! Everyone was very attentive to your needs! The peach dessert to end the evening with a bang, not too sweet, just perfect!

We weren’t able to book the tasting menu as it books out very early, but the à la cart was very delicious and worth trying. The smoked ahi cigars are must try and were the the star. We also tried the bone marrow and the sea scallops and the hamachi with a side of maitaki mushroom and blackened cauliflower. It was a fun and creative experience. Everything was tasty.

Easy Five stars all around. Beautifully executed food, with truly outstanding plating. Solid cocktails with attentive service was a total highlight and truly elevates the food scene in HNL. Influences of Per Se and French Laundry can be felt, but what makes this restaurant glow is the Hawaiian aloha. The wait staff was professional and helpful but also relaxed and approachable. We were expecting some pretentiousness but were surprised and happy how inviting and relaxed it was. Thoughtful interior design with repetitions of soft curves and monochromatic tones accentuates a open concept kitchen which sets up nicely for a Chefs Table. Finally after spending a month here on multiple islands it was nice to see a truly international menu. Many restaurants we’ve gone to have strong Pan Asian flavors and have become one dimensional. Senia still brings Island sensibility and flavors to the menu but expands nicely into French and Italian influences. We will be back!

Senia is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in the entire world. The food presentation makes it look like you are eating art. The ravioli made with breadfruit is easily the best ravioli I have ever had, the crunch of the fried breadfruit mixed with the rich sauce was to die for, we ended up ordering two of them. The braised beef cheeks melted in my mouth and it was just fantastic. The atmosphere is trendy with an open kitchen and a limited seating. The service was fanatic our waitress was so nice and friendly. Overall this is truly one of the best restaurants not only on Oahu but in the world, it is deserving of a Michelin Star.

Beautiful restaurant in Chinatown, Honolulu. The restaurant is quite small and it’s very hard to get reservation. So I would recommend you to make a reservation 2 month in advance. They have chef tasting menu option as well a la carte. Unfortunately, we cannot get a reservation for the chest tasting menu. However, we had a great night hanging out with friends. The staffs were very friendly. Food was great. Sommeliers were very knowledgeable

Great food experience. All meals were delicious. Cozy ambient and good service. Pricy? Comparing to other restaurants yes, however, walking out of the restaurant with the smile on the face is priceless. Small comment on the drink menu, as wine list, in my opinion, should be better snd bigger.

One of the most exceptionally creative and tasty places to eat in Honolulu. Ignore the touristy drag of Waikiki and come right here straight away! The vibe is chic without being pretentious or cold. Service is fun, efficient, and savvy. You’ll want to get a reservation on weekends to avoid waiting and there isn’t much space to wait if you do choose to wait. Pretty much the only detractor being the area it’s in could be nicer, but it’s where all the trendy restaurants are so that’s what you get. The interior is well decorated and welcoming if a bit dark. I saw well behaved kids here with parents but it’s mostly for business people and couples I would wager. Open kitchen, not too noisy given the small number of total diners. The food is exceptional. Unique takes on classics and totally new inventions are on the menu each day. Delicate Michelin level presentation of flowers and jams and little bits and bites of spectacular flavors adorn every plate. If anything the foie gras is decadent and overtly rich, which may put off some. The jam balanced it well. Bread was crunchy, flavored well, and nearly perfect, if a bit on the sharp side: would have aimed to soften the crust a bit. Salad was a wild new take on salad frankly and must be tried. Desserts were molecular gastronomic creations featuring the most enticing foam-like cream I had ever had. The colors on everything are just so vibrant it’s clear lots of thought goes into plating. You simply must come here! Do not forget to check out Podmore, their sister restaurant!

The food is amazing and service absolutely good. We didn’t do any big plate but only went with appetizers to do tapas. Everything was good. Dessert was awesome too! Highly recommended!!

Highly recommended! Absolutely delicious and creative food, great cocktails, excellent service and amazing atmosphere. We had the scallops, gnocchi, bone marrow, panisse and cocktail 007. Every dish was a journey, very carefully created and a great balance of flavors. Beautifully plated on custom made wood plates made by one of the chefs. Can’t wait to go back

This is the second time we go to this restaurant and you just forget after a long time. How good the place is. Virginia served us yesterday and she made the experience just out of this world. Her service was spectacular. Rarely do you go to restaurants where do you feel that the service is above and beyond.. The food was an experience not to be forgotten.

Impeccable. Superb. Exquisite. These are not words I’ve ever used to describe a restaurant and truly this was the best meal I’ve eaten in my entire life. Hands down. This restaurant should be on every top 10 list in HawaiI and the greater United States. Not only are the dishes truly a culinary masterpiece but the service is incredible. The wait staff opens the bathroom door for you when you walk up to go to the bathroom. When my partner used his napkin to wipe off some brown sauce, someone showed up next to our table immediately to offer him a new one. The wait staff is kind and polite and answers all and any questions. The dishes come out in a very timely, but not too rushed fashion. My partner and I went for our 2 yr anniversary and I couldn’t imagine a more amazing evening. The restaurant greeted us with a card at our table and views right into the kitchen where we could see everything they were doing. We ordered the 007 and the Freddie for drinks, which both had incredible flavors. For food, we ordered the Smoked Ahi Cigars, the Beignets, the Citrus Cured Hamachi, the Sea Scallops, Potato Gnocchi, and sides of the marinated mushrooms, and the Spaëtzle. Everything tasted amazing. I’m not going to go into it more because you must go try it yourself. We didn’t get dessert as we were too full, but even then our waitress brought us glasses of champagne to celebrate. I can’t emphasize enough that if you are visiting Oahu, you MUST go here. Truly an experience I will remember for a lifetime. I would come back to Oahu just for this restaurant alone. Thank you again Senia!

Inventive cooking techniques, aesthetically pleasing presentations, and most importantly, delicious food with fresh, local ingredients. The fruit-forward flavors and the mastery of smoke were memorable. Definitely one of the best in the Honolulu dining scene. Highly recommended.

We had dinner at Senia a week or so ago. I felt that the dishes didn’t have a good continuity, although each one on its own was tasty and very well presented. The description says this restaurant is affordable, which is a very relative term!

  • 5/5 Kristen T. 1 year ago on Google
Truly delicious and unique food, excellent service and ambiance as well. Drinks were stellar and we loved sitting at the counter to see all the focus and teamwork required for each plate. We were also greeted with a kind note wishing us a happy anniversary. Thank you, Senia!

This might be my most favorite restaurant in this island. Every dish we ordered were amazing in flavor and presentation was also amazing. Full of creativity and surprises. Very chill ambience and service is very nice too. Drinks were also all good too. I highly recommend it.

One of my favorite places on Island. Been coming here since they opened and every dish has been so well flavored, balanced, exquisitely prepared. You can see and taste all the thought and preparation goes into each component of each dish.

Had the most amazing birthday dinner at senia! The food was outstanding. Our favorites were the salmon (to share), the scallops and the house roll. But everything we ordered was delicious. I only have one complaint: they use plastic straws for their drinks. For a nice place like this and given how bad they are for the environment, that seemed quite surprising.

  • 3/5 Matthew A. 2 years ago on Google
Very creative, good service. Food was good but falls short on the price/quality ratio. Some dishes felt lacking in flavor complexity.

Excellent fine dining restaurant!! We ordered the 007 cocktail, smoked ahi cigars, beignets, roasted bone marrow, Maine sea scallops and citrus cured hamachi. Everything was delicious and the service was superb!! Highly recommend!

Best meal I've had in Hawaii. The care and attention to detail was evident and extraordinary, each dish was outstanding, not a single miss. Cocktails were curated well and definitely worth trying.

This place is just amazing. Confused that it is located in China Town downtown Waikiki. I would think this place could get a Michilin star. Be sure to try the New Zealand Salmon.
