Amazing beach, specially if you have young kids. The part which has a sea wall is really calm and relaxing. It allows even non swimmers to have lots of fun and even try out snorkeling. It’s not that crowded if you get there early in the morning. Getting an umbrella and a picnic/beach blanket is a must as the afternoon gets super hot and you will be sunburnt without shade.

My husband was an avid surfer in California as a young man loves to visit the Duke statue in Honolulu to honor the man that introduced surfing to the mainland.

I watched ‘The Waterman’ on my Hawaiian Airlines flight over (great documentary, very inspirational story) so this became a higher priority to see. Statue is great in nice little park area with access to the beach. Setting includes a great sunset in the evening too. We were also lucky enough to catch the first day of Dukes Oceanfest in this location too. The Red Bull Party Wave was great fun with an awesome atmosphere

Beautiful section of waikiki beach behind the statue. Lots of surfers. A lot of orchid garlands adorn the statue at all times. Nice photo ops. We walked this area almost every evening.

A must-see in Hawaii! Located on Waikiki beach. My mom and I decided to check out the nightlife on our first night in Hawaii. A tourist-packed area. People from all over mainland and other countries filled up this boardwalk. We came across the Duke statue and got a photo with the Duke. The Duke was covered in lei flowers. Another mom and daughter duo saw us and offered to the pics for us. Be careful when you're trying to stand on the rock that is in front of the Duke. Quite slippery if you had flip flops on. Next time I'm in Hawaii, I'm going to have to have to get another pic with the Duke.

Nice place for a photoshoot, but get there super early like 6am, otherwise all the other people will start coming and then your photshoot has strangers walking around. Note there's a lot of homeless people around there so keep your belongings close. Can get some great shots here if you know what you're doing with a camera... or hire a photographer.

A convenient vehicle drop off zone with restrooms & outdoor showers really close. A lot if places to choose from to eat across the street. The surf shops are plenty busy attending to the tourists. Amole parking down the street near the zoo. Some beach restoration happening currently so nit as beautiful now.

This beach is absolutely beautiful. But it is also very CROWDED and very public; it is basically in the middle of a shopping district. There's actually a public restroom on-site at this beach, but the restroom and the people hanging around the restroom (even in the middle of the day) seem very sketchy.

Awesome to see the king of surfers. Very busy beach. If you need a little distance from others either go early or during the week (stay away from weekends) or better yet, visit another of the many awesome beaches

Exact replica of The Godfather’s Godfather, legendary Hawaiian waterman, and Olympic gold medalist, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Duke Kahanamoku. First surfer to use the word, “gnarly” in a sentence. His list of accolades won’t fit here. Fret not, there’s a plethora of books for you to read about the undisputed father of modern day surfing. He was so shredded (chiseled/muscular) and ripped (surfing terminology) so hard, the word, “shredding” was inducted into the surf lingo hall of fame in his honor.

Beach sands are super clean. I saw no broken bottles, glass, no cig butts. Water is luxurious and warm you don't want to get out! Park has lots of place to sit and eat whatever you decide from dozens of food shops. People watch, swim, eat, mosey, I loved it!

Our trip to Waikiki was beautiful. The beaches, the main strip of shopping and restaurants was the getaway we needed. The local coffee in the morning and a walk along this beach to see the sunrise was an experience I’ll always remember.

We had a wonderful meal as we watched people on the beach learning to surf and just enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Waikiki Beach, a famous place in Honolulu. To rent umbrella and chairs, you need to be a millionaire. When staying longer, it make sense to buy them.

We were able to witness the splendor of the Duke Kahanamoku statue on Monday, our first night in Oahu and Tuesday our second day. This statue is a tribute to the best great black native Hawaiian surfer ever. He paved the way in introducing the world to the ancient black Hawaiian sport of surfing which resonates today with all surfers especially in Hawaii. In addition he was a pillar of the community having been sheriff re-elected many times, representing his country and winning several Olympic gold medals, acting in various movies and shows, and spreading the spirit of Aloha to Hawaii’s residents and tourists famous and non famous alike. I would recommend taking photos with Duke during the day time, preferably in the morning before Waikiki beach becomes too crowded. If you would like to take photos at night the street light does cast a nice amount of light onto the statue if desired. It’s beautiful to see the leis that are spread out onto the statue’s arms welcoming you to Oahu and all of Hawaii. I would recommend every tourist and local take a photo with Duke and of Duke to commemorate a true great Hawaiian hero as a pivotal point in any visit or experience in Oahu.

A good open area to walk and see some statues after walking on the Waikiki beach.

A visit to Waikiki is not complete without a visit to the Duke Statue. Read his history as this man was much more than the Father of Modern Surfing. Its is also located on a beautiful stretch of open beach. A must visit.

Crowded beach, but it is amazing to surf(surprisingly) . Simply a blast! I did enjoy it a lot. Don’t pay attention to rain, it for sure worth trying to surf. Be aware of some sharp rocks 🪨 sometimes :(

This is the iconic Statue of Waikiki. Everyone who passes by will stop and take a photo. Right behind the statue is the world famous Waikiki Beach. Aloha.

On a lovely beach.... Many surfers use this beach. A fair amount of homeless people as well but they were largely harmless.
