So grateful for all who served and remembering the lives lost during this tragic event. It was a really cool experience to tour and pay our respects. We didn't spend too much time at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. The USS Arizona is closed for maintenance but there's a free Memorial program which includes a documentary film with actual attack footage as well as a ride on a US Navy Shuttle boat to the Memorial. Tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial program are given out free of charge each morning on a first come, first served basis. There were plenty at 945 a.m. when we grabbed ours. It rained when we arrived but skies were clear again within 15 minutes. Dress appropriately. I didn't get sick on the shuttle boat but I will say I was dizzy for the following 3 days because of it. I regretted not taking a dramamine (I get nauseated easily- even in car rides). Our online $45 ticket included the Battleship Missouri, where the documents ending World War II were signed and the USS Oklahoma Memorial. We also explored the Bowfin submarine using an audio tour. Make sure you reserve enough time to explore everything! Everyone went with a tour guide on the Missouri, but because our time was limited, we winged it and went solo. We got there at 945 a.m and left at 130 p.m and let me tell you, that was us rushing. We didn't stop to eat or shop in the stores. It took about 20 minutes to wait for the shuttle bus to go back. You can snack on the nearby $6 hot dog while you wait, like I did. Overall, it was a great experience! Edit: I forgot to add I did stop at the jewelry shop. Opened a clam and found a pearl. It's located on the left side of the entrance to the overpriced store. It's $15, but it's free if you buy your expensive newspaper photo after the tour next door. Or if you mount it, which I did on a white gold ring with a diamond. So beautiful and fun to do. But expect to spend about $200 and up to mount it on a jewelry (ring, necklace etc.) I'll post photos!

This memorial is just outside the gate to the USS Missouri museum. You can visit before or after your visit to the battleship. I did it after and was in the waiting area for the shuttle bus to come pick us up to take us back to the visitor center when I visited it. It's a very short walking distance from the waiting area. Also, across the street are public restrooms. It's easy to overlook as this memorial isn't very well publicized unless you do your homework. I highly recommend visiting this memorial as these shouldn't be overlooked among the many memorials and monuments in this historic area.

A wonderful memorial to the lives lost on the USS Oklahoma. Located on Ford island, near the USS Missouri, this modest but powerful memorial is a must see.

Took some time to visit this memorial, right near the entrance to the USS Missouri. It pays respect to the loss of life on this ship and gives opportunity to think of war from those who have been there. Check out the quotes on the granite walls.

Big ship and lengthy tour with lots of options to cut short if your kids get bored. Very informative guides and cool experience going up and down steep stairs and through door hatches to see how sailors lived out at sea in small quarters.

What an amazing display of honor and respect for the fallen. This is a exceptionally well, thought out and beautiful memorial to those who lost their life aboard the USS Oklahoma. Take a second to stand in silence and pay your respects!

Great memorial with a lot of history and information at the sight. Definitely try and go early in the morning or evening. The black stone is like standing in front of an oven during mid-day

A great memorial monument reflecting the ultimate sacrifice that the men aboard the USS Oklahoma had inflicted upon them at the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1940. This monument is positioned close to the entrance to the USS Missouri battleship and should not be bypassed without a quiet moment of reflection, gratitude and respect.

Great to be able to see a historical site. Very well kept and clean. You have to pay to get on the ship, but the dock is free and you can still take a picture in front of the ship. Need to have military access to get on ford island.

Underrated place to visit while at Pearl Harbor. Very unique and beautiful memorial with a combination of symbolism and atmosphere. While this memorial is not as well promoted as some of the others, it’s is definitely worth taking the time to stop on your was to the Missouri memorial. *If you are on a tour group, they likely don’t give you enough time to see everything on Ford Island! Plan for more time than you think you will need so you have time to see and experience everything on Ford Island.

Beautiful memorial. It's right outside the gate for the Missouri and directly across from the bathrooms.

Great memorial to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. If you take the bus from Pearl Harbor to the Missouri, walk past the parking lot and see this memorial before you get on the bus. It is worth the 2 minute walk

The USS Oklahoma Memorial was very nice to visit. The pillars for all the military members are beautifully craft with white marble and are very maintained to keep their beauty preserved. Very beautiful.
