Not as crowded as Waikiki From Waikiki, you pass Barefoot beach Cafe, the aquarium and War Memorial. Go past Kaimana beach and it takes you to Hau tree restaurant and Outrigger canoe club. Great place to find Hawaiian monk seals. They are very long and have many folds. Only 1500 of these unique critters left and their closest relative is the Mediterranean monk seal across the oceans. Only uploading a few pics this time as my last review didn't get any views.

Secret. Shhh, donโ€™t tell everyone about this beach because itโ€™s the best beach around. Small, quiet and clean. Right next to the park, War Memorial and the aquarium. Staying in the Kaimana Beach Hotel made it easy for me but even if I wasnโ€™t staying there I would go here. I think my favorite thing was the friendly neighborhood feeling I got from people on the beach.

Calm, nice sandy beach with almost no rocks in the water and you can enjoy swimming there with family and kids. A Monck seal is almost there on the beach most of the time and if in the water, you will be asked to go out for a while. Thereโ€™s a nice shower there to remove sand and salt.

Kaimana beach area is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, but close enough to walk. This area is near diamond head, and also within walking distance. I love this area because the locals hang out here, and the area hotels like Kaimana beach hotel with direct access to the beach is awesome. Perfect location, and I will definitely return to this area next time I visit Honolulu.

Beautiful, serene beach, to enjoy a picturesque sunset while wading in the shallow water. I had 2 monk seals sleeping on the sand nearby. Soft music and chit chat from various individuals and groups.

Nice small beach next to Kaimana Beach Hotel and Waikiki Aquarium. There are free parking space available for the beach. This is the beach where a mink seal sometimes give birth and raise a pup for several weeks.

Kaimana beach is located right across from the Natatorium and in front of Kaimana beach hotel. There is free street parking but that fills up. If you're willing to walk just a little bit there is a ton of paid parking as well right across the street at Kapiolani park. The beach itself is fairly small but usually calm and it's sand is fairly fine. Snorkeling is pretty good and you'll probably see lots of small fishes. There are showers and bathrooms are located in the Natatorium. The highlight of this past trip was a Monk seal and her pup.

Less people than waikiki down the street and more monk seals! Plenty of parking along the street if you get there early. Nice place for kids with lifeguards on duty and minimal waves.

Forever grateful that I discovered this hidden gem! A fantastic snorkeling spot! Saw so many tropic fish! Also feel safe while swimming because the water is calm and shallow!

Beach in Waikiki where you can actually enter the water with your full body and swim! Itโ€™s spacious and clean and is a good spot for swimming unlike the Waikiki beach! It was recommended by the locals:)

While we were visiting, a female seal came onto the beach from the ocean. So cool! She rested there, and we were told she does it frequently. What a great experience. The beach is nice, the views are wonderful, and the people were nice. Would definitely go back.

Kaimana Beach is a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. We didn't have any peddlers or the like harassing us buy anything. The worst was a single person trying to sell stuff for a church fund raiser. The beach had a mix of families, seniors, couples, and young singles. Everyone seemed to be respectful of each other's space and desire to vask in the Hawaii sun and swim in the Pacific. Watch for seals! Don't get too close or mention they are lazy. Marine life volunteers yell or be condescending to you.

Great snorkeling, saw a plethora of different fish as well as a few sea turtles. Best free snorkeling spot in O'ahu.

Comfy and uncrowded beach with benches in the beach park. Friendly lifeguard pointed us to the reef for snorkeling, it was a bit murky at high tide but the reef looks healthy and there were a wide variety of fish. I would definitely snorkel here again.

Kaimana Beach itself, I would rate 5 stars. But itโ€™s become so over congested the last few years, you can barely find a spot on the beach to lay your towel down. Luckily thereโ€™s a huge channel you can paddle out and surf multiple spots from Suicides to Tongs to Publics. Every so often a mama seal will post up on the beach and you can always catch a glimpse of the local turtle.

A lovely calm beach beside a hotel and also next to the Waikiki Aquarium. It is not crowded, there are waves but not too strong, and there's also a lifeguard on duty to make sure everyone is safe in the area. Up by the beach, there is a wash station for you to wash off the sand and take a small shower to wash up the salt water.

You can see the monk seals here if you're lucky! Was here early May '23 and saw a mother monk seal with her baby. She gave birth here mid-April and will hang out on the beach for 4 to 7 weeks afterwards nurturing the pup. They're extremely cute!

I love this beach! Itโ€™s not too crowded and the views are spectacular. You can see downtown Honolulu and itโ€™s right next door to the aquarium.

Kaimana Beach in Honolulu: a serene escape amidst the city's hustle. Mornings here are peaceful, with golden sands and the occasional sea turtle visiting or a monk seal sunning itself on the beach. A hidden treasure off the beaten path. ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿข

A nice, calm beach for wading out or casual swimming.

Beautiful beach, had lots of people but not nearly as crowded as Waikiki. In all honesty, the only reason I came to this beach was to find a Hawaiian Monk Seal, since they are one of my favorite animals. And I was not disappointed! Within five minutes of walking on the beach I found this guy snoozing away on the sand. They had put up caution tape so no one would get too close, but I was still able to get photos and videos from behind the tape!

My favorite beach! Seals frequent here. Clear water, calm, shallow and deep areas. Reef 25 yards out, plenty fish to see if you snorkel. Turtles a little further out. Parking can sometimes be tricky especially on weekends and after 3 weekdays.

LOVED this beach. Lots of dogs and locals at the foot of San Souci Condos. Lifeguard and shower. Waves too strong this day to see much of anything but planes in the sky. BRING your quarters to park nearby.

This is a hidden gem on the edge of Waikiki at the base of diamond head. Lots of sand and clear water that is not crowed with tourist. Some it is closed down due to the monk seals, but there is still plenty of beach left for everyone.

Takes a little effort to get out to the reef but it is a little over 6 ft deep from coast to reef edge. No shelter or break from incoming waves.

Beautiful, small beach right next to a historic 100+ yr old outdoor olympic sized pool that makes for nice photos (it is closed off to the public)

Walking distance from Waikiki Beach. This place is more empty and the sea is also beautiful. Sunset is especially recommended. You can also see the fireworks at the Hilton on Friday.
