Very glad we spent the morning on the "Off the Beaten Path" food tour with our guide Victor. He was very knowledgeable of the history of the area, and the multicultural ethnic food stops along the tour. We were able to sample delicious meats, seafood, other various items that we wouldn't normally have found. This tour is a must do for any foodie or asian food fan! We will definitely be recommending this tour to our friends who visit the island! 😋

We went on the Off the Beaten Path food tour and are so glad that we did. We visited places we would not have found on our own and tasted incredibly delicious buns, lumpia, exotic fruit, and fish. Very knowledgeable and personable guide. Highly recommended.

We did two activities with Hawaii Free Tours - their downtown walking tour and a semi-custom food tour. Both were excellent! We learned so much about Hawaiian history in just over an hour and Peter was a great guide, incorporating humor and facts. The food tour was delicious - it was awesome to try all the different styles that influence Hawaiian foods. Make sure you come hungry! Thank you to Victor and Elless for coordinating such wonderful adventures in Honolulu.

Thanks to Victor and TJ for the great experience. So fun and so interesting tour which allowed us to discover the importance of the asian food traditions on the hawaiian cuisine. Victor and TJ had also a lot of resourceful information to share (restaurants tips, historical and cultural background...). Highly recommend!

Went on the Honolulu tour with Susan. She was very interesting, very knowledgeable, had a ton of super fun facts to tell us about the city. She was so nice, it felt like we walked for only a few minutes! Highly recommend these tours

Victor and TJ were AWESOME! So much food and insights into the history of HNL and Chinatown. Nice small group with prompt pickup in a customized van at our hotel. They went above and beyond to make our experience the best ! I even tried a balut! We will definitely recommend this to our friends and family.

My wife and I did this tour and it was outstanding! When you visit Honolulu make sure you book this tour. We had what probably is the best roast pork EVER! Also the pickup and dropoff service made the tour even better. Great job!

Spent the morning with a free tour with Susan who was a wonderful guide sharing the layers of peoples that make up the history and evolution of Hawaii. She was knowledgeable and had great stories to share of how unique Hawaiian culture evolved and how it has had a renaissance of pride in its unique indigenous origins. Well done. Remember it's a free tour but well worth a generous tip.

We took the, "Off The Beaten Path," tour with Victor. We were shown several local destinations all of which were great. All of the local vendors knew him and seemed to have a great relationship with him. The locations were all places I definitely wouldn't have immediately thought to check out, and the food quality was always top notch! On a side note, Victor mentioned the food recommendations portion of his website just before the tour ended. My wife and I have been using that list of great local food for the last week or so, and they've all been spectacular choices. Victor seriously knows his food on Oahu. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful day we had today exploring Honolulu with Victor. The food was a culinary delight meeting our expectations and even more. Our guide was Victor - he was friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning about the cuisine of Hawaii. Thank you we had a very enjoyable day.

My father and I took this tour as our first trip to O'ahu. Our tour guide was Peter Van Buren – and he is an incredible narrator. I appreciated that he provided different perspectives, and was cognizant to emphasize the true history of Hawai'i, with perspectives from the indigenous people. Peter also was extremely effective (and enjoyed) hearing questions. It shows him you are engaged. My father and I agreed that we left this tour having a deeper appreciation and respect for the Hawai'ian history, land, and most importantly, people. In addition, I coordinated this tour with Elless separately since we didn't have the right timing to make the group tour. Elless was professional and clearly an active problem solver. I don't make time to write many reviews, but this experience is worth it for those that care enough to learn about the stories about Hawai'i and appreciate its beauty even more!

We just finished a private food tour with Victor. Lovely guy and amazing tour. Highly recommend for any foodies wanting to try good local foods.

Peter did a wonderful job educating my wife, myself, and the 30+ group we were with on the rich history of Hawai'i. He was also nice enough to entertain and discuss some of my philosophical thoughts on the tourism industry afterwards. An enlightening experience designed to educate rather than cheaply entertain. 10/10. Thanks again Peter!

We really enjoyed the walking tour with Peter. Time flew by and before we knew it the tour was over, so absorbed were we we didn’t noticed an hour and a quarter went by. Peter was funny (I got the Ferris Bueller joke Peter), informative in a way that was easy to follow and engage. He had interesting stories and was very easy going. I would definitely recommend the walking tour.

We went on the locals food tour today and it was fantastic! They picked us up at our hotel and took us to several different local gems. We tried pastries, seafood at a great local fish market, delicious Giovanni's shrimp, and ended with famous Hawaiian shaved ice. Our tour guide was great! He told us all about the history of Hawaii and Hawaiian culture as he drove us to the multiple eateries. He also gave us several suggestions of where to eat and drink around our hotel and the best tours to take. I recommend doing this in the beginning of your trip so you have time to go to the recommendations.

The Hawaii Food Tour was so good. The food was excellent and Elles and Peter were so informative. We had a great time, ate a ton of great food, learned about the history of the area and got great recommendations for other places to eat and drink. Highly recommend!!

Great tour this morning! Good insights on historic locations and tons of recommendations to get the most out of Oahu (beaches, food, etc). Alex and Victor rocks!

This was my first ever food tour and Elless and Peter created the most wonderful experience for us. They were both so knowledgeable and entertaining. I would describe it as having a five course dinner and a show all wrapped up into one package. I quite literally didn’t know what I was missing until these two walked into my life. After our tour, Elless offered to show us where to find some great drinks and great vibes. He went above and beyond to make sure our time here was full of fun and adventure and I left feeling like I had made a new friend. 10/10 would recommend. Don’t miss out on this experience!!

This tour around downtown was a great insight into both the historical significance and impact on the area. The tour covers a relatively small area, but each site holds a significant piece of history to what makes Hawaii, and more specifically Oahu, what it is today. Both Victor and Elless were great in explaining both ancient and modern-day struggles and success that Hawaii has. If you have the time, definitely check them out!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour if you're in Honolulu and want to learn about Hawaii's history. It was really informative and interesting, and we learned a lot of things that we'd never have known by just staying at the beach :) Peter was super knowledgeable about Hawaii and a lot of other US history, so it was great fun talking to him and learning from his experiences of living around the world. Hopefully you have him as your guide - great guy!

I really had a great time with my family on this awesome tour. The local guide Victor has lived in Hawaii for a long time and his wealth of knowledge really reflected that. Hawaii has a rich history that I've come to appreciate. I am certain that Victor's food tour is just as wonderful.

Victor and Elless were great hosts—accommodating to our group’s size and needs, knowledgeable, and just fun to hang out with. We were happy with the places they took us to, and they had great recommendations for us outside of the tour as well. We were super impressed that everyone got full portions at each stop. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

😠 While I did not book a tour with this company, I had an unpleasant experience interacting with a tour guide named Steve who drove this tour bus attached in the picture on Dec 2, 2023 at 9AM. 😐 I was unsure weather to book this because i have picky eaters. The options to customize for them isn't there so be aware. That being said the staff was great as well as the entertainment.
