Thought I knew all there was to know about Pearl Harbor, heard about it many times from friends who came to Oahu. I finally got my chance and it was more than I expected. The exhibits showed scaled down models of the warships on both sides, the short video told more of the story, and actually seeing the oil float to the surface at the USS Arizona was surreal to say the least. It made the whole experience more than just a story I read in a history book.

Anyone visiting Honolulu must check out this place. We were at the entrance at 6:40 and had booked the tickets at the hotel the day before. It is important to also reserve tickets for the ship so that you can drive past the monument (the ship costs $1 per person). Most hotels will reserve the tickets for you. You cannot go onto the monument, it is closed for security reasons. Get a ticket for the ship first thing in the morning so you don't have to stress about the other sights. If you miss the ship for your reserved time, there will be no replacement on the same day. Allow at least 6 hours if you want to see everything in peace. Not everything is in the area, for some things you take the shuttle (every 15 minutes) further away (museum and warship). The staff there is friendly and helpful everywhere. If you don't speak English well, the people there will try to explain everything to you with simple words or gestures so that you understand it. They really have a lot of patience. We took a day ticket for all attractions and paid €140 for 2 people. Is worth the money. There are also free tickets every day for a certain number of visitors, but we didn't want to queue so early (some are there as early as 3:00 in the morning). Parking is available and there is also a bus that goes there, but it can take up to 2 hours .

A must-see place full of history where you can enjoy endless information and images for free. I recommend going early and eager to read.

The Pearl Harbor Memorial is a sacred place where we honor those servicemen who died for our country. The boat took us out to the Memorial. The Memorial was beautifully designed.

A very historical place and absolutely worth seeing for me. However, you have to plan some time for this, it can take around 6 hours due to the waiting times. We were there at 10 a.m. and couldn't drive to the monument until 1:15 p.m. This trip to the monument is free. All further visits are subject to a fee. I really liked it, you can really feel the events in this place. The bay is quite small, I had imagined it to be bigger. She lies there very calmly and you can easily imagine what effect this day must have had on people. I would recommend a visit!

Absolutely impressive. We paid around €130 for 2 tickets, but spent almost the whole day there. The ship, the submarine and the planes are fantastic. One point is deducted for the long waiting times for the shuttle buses. This could be done better. A lot of money but I would watch it again!!!!

We visited all the sites offered while using the audio recordings to give us additional information. What a enlightening experience we had learning about all aspects of that terrible war. Our visit gave us TREMENDOUS RESPECT for the sacrifices made by so many in order to keep our country safe....

An unfriendly place to visit...the no-bag policy makes carrying water impractical while touring the Missouri, and a broken water main meant that the water fountains were not usable. Under these circumstances they should have been giving away water bottles but we still had to buy them. And because we couldn't bring a bag for our purchases we had to buy one, conveniently. Even after buying water they don't want people taking it into the museums. So are we supposed to guzzle it or throw it away? In addition to the fickleness of the Arizona tours, policies here seem designed to make things difficult for visitors.

Beautiful place. If ur stationed there get ready for the worst years of your life unfortunately. Try the fried rice omelette at the bowling alley. The leadership at the sub base is kinda suspect they like to throw kids in the brig after returning from overseas submarine deployments scared and shaken. Don't drink the water unless ur down for jet fuel. If ur job relies on the shipyard, be patient and wait for the 3rd shift bro. Amazing history and unique views of Ford Island.

It does a nice job of honoring those that GAVE their lives to protect our country. What would those that sacrificed so much think about sanctuary cities?
