Some areas smell a bit fishy. That could be because of the thousands of small fish in the lagoon. The water is surprisingly cold. But in general it's a great place to hang out and spend the day. If you come here you might want to bring binoculars as there are a lot of things in the distance to see. Surfers, planes (lots of planes), military jets, boats of all sizes and the submarine. The sand on the beach is not very smooth. Some parts have tiny rocks. Bring water shoes for the ocean. Grab an umbrella from abc store and set up on the beach. Lots of locals come down and set up full size tents, mostly on the weekends. There's a few shaded spots and grass. During our time in in February it was not busy at all.

Nice lagoon, but be careful with your young children as the allow pedal boats to roam freely. Not very safe to allow a large pedal boat, driven by children without adults, within inches of swimming and playing children

Beautiful lagoon with calm clean water. Perfect if you have children. Sand was a bit coarse and sharp though!

My kids had a lot of fun playing in the water here. You can rent chairs and umbrellas but they're pretty pricey at about $30/each. They do not have life jacket rentals. The beach is really rocky and hurt our feet to walk on, so make sure to wear sandals or water shoes. The water is very calm and not deep so it was great to let the kids play in without having to also get in the water. We went early evening and it was pretty cleared out and quiet. Overall the lagoon was fun, clean, and pretty. The real beach is right behind and the lagoon is public, which I didn't realize. I thought it was private to Hilton guests (but not an issue). There were also some vendors off to the side near the marina selling hot dogs and such.

A fine little Lagoon in the Hilton Hotel area that is fine for some minor water sport with calm water and some sea life within. It would be a nice area for those who do not want to encounter the ocean waves as this is not connected to the ocean. Very close to the hotel and the restaurant so there's no concerns of lots of walking. The rental for the water spot on nearby so it's relatively convenient.

Very well maintained. Cold as ice. I see people taking paddle board lessons. Kids playing. Little fish. People running and jogging. Safe place to visit. Come real early to get parking and nap until you’re ready to play. Food close by.

A beautiful spot that is much less crowded than the Waikiki beaches. A salt water lagoon offers safe swimming for kids. There's also plenty of fun activities like water bikes, canoes, and yoga.

The Lagoon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village is really cool. If you don't want to be at the beach or the pool the Lagoon offers the perfect balance. It's easy to swim, snorkel, paddle board, or just float in.

An outdoor place for many different activities on water or on shore. It belongs to Hilton Hawaiian Village but seems everyone can come over to enjoy the vast open space by the ocean. A parking lot is nearby, as well as boat harbor.

We stayed at the Hilton Rainbow Tower and we loved going to the lagoon when we could. It’s got plenty of room for a lot of people. Great to relax at and kids will enjoy it as it is not too deep.

Awesome place to hangout with the family. The water is a little cooler than the sea when we went in September. Lots of fish to see in the lagoon. Kid friendly place.

My kids absolutely loved hanging out here. In the mornings its considerably less crowded. There are some fish and an island you can swim up to (not climb.) At the time of our visit, rentals averaged $75 an hour for the paddle boards/kayak/pedal boats. I wish the sand were a little softer but my kids didn't complain. If you're wondering, the fireworks are shot from this area on Fridays.

The lagoon is interesting. It's free of rocks, waves and boats, which is nice. It has plenty of shade and beach. But it appears to be set up purely to funnel traffic to the "beach services" booth that rents out all sorts of expensive amenities. We left after 20 minutes or so since it was crowded and less fun than then public beach.

Fun for watercraft and floaties. It has calm waters for children. The water is always colder than the ocean nearby. The water is pumped from the ocean farther out.

Aloha! This is the best location for vacation. The lagoon is awesome for swimming and doing recreational activities. We spent the whole week relaxing and making wonderful memories. I’m so excited that I will be coming back.

Spacious lagoon where lots of families with little children go to. They have large water bike rentals and the sand seems to be darker in the water compared to the beach water sand!

We came here everyday and loved it! Such a peaceful and lovely spot, we loved swimming here and was close to our hotel. We swam in the lagoon more than the ocean, perfect spot for every age!

It’s salty but fun to snorkel in. There’s some tiny fish along the way and quite an island to cannonball off of. The deepest part (near the small island) is about 6 feet? Maybe more? The water is freezing, and if u get some on your lips, take a while to spit it out…
