The concert was awesome. Just the experience being in an old theater was nice.

I am so happy this venue exists here in Oahu! Beautiful theater in its own right with great sight lines that hosts a variety of programming. Nearby parking garages make driving easy and there are a ton of places nearby to eat or drink.

great venue with a nice view from every seat in the house. very nice staff and always clean. The acoustics are very good here no matter the venue.

We recently visited this theater for the first event allowed after two years of the COVID pandemic, and wow, this theater is absolutely amazing. I really like the art and detail that has gone into designing this historic theater. The neon outside is awesome and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. To make things better, the entire staff is super friendly and always looking to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. Another super plus, this place is very clean.

Watched a movie. Why sell concessions if we can't eat or drink in our seats? Staff was rude, coming up to us yelling, "No food! There's a sign in the front!" The signs are blocked if the door is wide open (which it was), so you can't even see it. Nobody said anything until we were happily eating our popcorn. Wanted a nice time out with the family, and, unfortunately, it had to be tainted by rude staff. Won't be coming back. Staff needs a class in how to speak to customers. Had they spoken to us with respect, I wouldn't be leaving this review. Not the type of treatment I expect in Hawaii. Do better.

The theater is absolutely gorgeous. The ushers were incredibly helpful and efficient. Because we have a medium size truck, the parking garage was a nightmare, however. That's okay, we still had a wonderful time.

Stopped by for a reggie watts concert with a buddy a few days ago. Hadn't been to Hawaii Theater in a while. Can't remember if the last time I went was for a concert or a premier of a movie, but you know what you're gonna get when you go to a show in Hawaii Theater. Long lines to get in, long lines to get a drink, and long lines to pee. That's OK, because you're at the THEATER! Love the look and history of this place. The acoustics are not bad. The seats are comfortable. Not in love with the stupid plastic cups they sell for 10 dollars, but they're trying to increase profits so I guess I understand? 🀷 Wish they used a better material and just charges more. Bring a jacket. Some seats are freezing. Go see a show there!

The theatre is absolutely beautiful, decent seats to see most of the stage. Maybe it was because it was one of the first performances since things started reopening but NO ONE was ready for how busy it was. I certainly wasn't. We got there about 15 min early and the line was already wrapping around the block and took over 20 min from where we were. There were tons of people behind us also. They had to hold the house for 15min. The line did move pretty fast, there were just a lot of people trying to get in one area. Bathrooms, same story. I got in line to stamp my parking and get a water (since the fountains were turned off, Covid) and spent the entire intermission doing so, even late for the first number. They had 4 people and only 2 computers processing drinks and passes for 1,400 tickets!! I even had cash since I hoped it would be easier but the computers were having problems and everything was being processed there making it take forever. A positive note was everyone was very nice and friendly. Next time I will be prepared, but I certainly hope the theater can be better prepared as well. I've been in plenty of theaters this size and bigger. While there are often problems if you wait till the last min, this was a combination of not organized, and possibly understaffed for the number of tickets sold. The performance was beautiful! It was so amazing to see live dance again.

In November 2006, our tour group was invited to an afternoon of German and Hawaiian folk music at the Hawaii Theater. During the event, Siegrid & Roy unexpectedly appeared in the upper tiers. They were friends of Heino. The event lasted a few minutes. All visitors stood up and marveled. Seriously injured by his Tigers in 2003, Roy gave a short speech. After that the event continued.

A beautifully restored landmark. It has been an honor and joy to have been performing on the Hawaii Theatre stage. They don't make theatres like this anymore.

Nicely renovated historic theater. Loge seating provided excellent views. Conveniently located for pre-show Chinatown dining.

Needs updating, decor is dusty, but great venue for concerts, comedy, etc. Parking somewhat of a hassle if you park in the lot across the street. FYI: it dosen't open until 7:00 pm, which means a long line outside that blocks all traffic in the intersection. Parking pro is that you can pay ahead of time online so you don't have to wait in a long line after the show.

The theater is lovely but I was at an orchestral concert. The biggest issue is sight lines which is more or less of a problem depending on what you are there for. Warning for those with height and vertigo issues. The balcony seats are very steep and frankly made me ill and I do not have those issues normally. So great view but once you sit down you do not want to stand up Narrow rows up there as well.

The renovations are holding up well. I've been coming to this theater since the early 60s, and it's never looked better. The acoustics for a musical event are fine, though it's dependent upon the sound system brought by the musicians. The view from the balcony is great, but sometimes the sound quality is so-so; again, dependent on the artist's equipment.

I had such a FANTASTIC time at the Hawaii Theatre. It has historic old school charm. I definitely have become a fan and started following their shows. We saw the Tribute to the 60's Fab 4 and I cannot speak highly enough about that travelling performance.

The so called pride of the pacific makes justice to its name. This historical place is a true experience and I highly recommend going there. The venue was reopened 101 years ago, the acoustic is great and it has elements elements of neoclassical architecture for the outside and a rich panoply of beaux arts architecture inside. A must go! They have sustainable options for drinking such as a reusable tumbler for alcoholic drinks and boxed water.

Beautiful theater, well designed, comfortable, fancy and elegant. We enjoyed a wonderful concert in late Aug. Two issues compromised the experience: the AC was too strong, we were all uncomfortably cold. I asked the ushers but they said there was nothing they could do. And during the intermission, the air got hazy and the fire alarm went off, which delayed the second part of the show. These issues should hopefully be easy to address, and guests can enjoy a perfect experience πŸ‘Œ

Beautifully restored historic theater is now used for a variety of performances. We found free street parking nearby for an evening concert. Lots of good restaurants nearby for dinner before the show.

Don't get me wrong Hawaii Theatre seem very nice but these guys that work with them... Hi.BRED Productions with* Hawaii Theatre These guys are so bad. Very un professional I've meet with two of them so far and both seem to think they can act however they want even to the local shop Owners*** I had one of them stop me and ask if I had my car parked next to the shop. I told him yes I did and there is (No sign) stating that the parking was reserved* (every once in a while the street side parking is reserved for tv filming/ festival/ large theater productions*) He proceeded to tell me that it didn't matter they had the all street parking here reserved. I told him he still needed to have signs stating that they are reserved* I moved my car anyway* Later on about 9:00 am way after parking was open to the public. Across the street the none reserved parking spaces where full up. Locals coming and going business /shopping/ Hair cut etc. Hi.BRED Productions showed up way after parking was opened and started putting up signs that the parking was reserved for Hawaii Theatre. I tried to explain why it's not right to start putting up signs after people have started parking already. But they just where not having it.

My first time seeing a show at the historical Hawaii Theatre. Beautifully decorated interior and the lighting was phenomenal. Purchasing tickets online was easy. Would’ve been nice if the tickets could be downloaded to the Apple wallet. But we had no issues with check in by showing a photo of our tickets. Great atmosphere and you can feel and smell the history in the place. Literally, you can smell an old building smell. It’s like smelling old books.

Went to see a comedy routine here. The theater was very clean and staff seemed alright. There is no parking lot on premises, but lots of other parking lots nearby or free street parking (King Street) if you go early and don't mind a short walk. The only shortcoming of the theater would be that the seats would be a little uncomfortable for taller people. I'm 5'11" and the seats my knees were just about touching the seat in front of me. I had to "manspread" a little to be comfortable. If you're comfortable on a Hawaiian Airlines plane, you should be alright. Lol!

I've been here in years past, but was honored to see the Royal Hawaiian Band in their first show after Covid. It was great to see, and there were many great performers. Ushers were great. There was beer and a few non-alcoholic options upstairs. Unfortunately, people kept moving in and out during each piece, which creaked the floorboards terribly each time. Cellphones rang and rang. Children cried. People kept having their cameras unexpectedly flash or strobe. It was a bit nuts. Maybe just post-Covid wildness? Anyway, it was good to be back, and some of the music was moving.

Theater chargers restoration fees without permission. Must buy a $20 tumbler from them to drink anything. You'll be drinking and staff will tell you to put back on a face mask AS you're taking a sip. Chairs are small and to compacted. Parking lot for theater has homeless hanging out in it.

A solid venue for solid performances, the Hawaii Theatre does not disappoint. It always leaves me mildly in awe seeing contemporary productions in such a vintage setting! It has a grand feel, but still maintains a cozy vibe.

A small 90 year old theatre in China Town. The acoustics we're good and the theatre is small enough that there are no bad seats. There are ushers to help you find your seats. The theatre sells drinks and snacks before the show and during intermission. Unfortunately they have not started using covered glasses so you can not take your drink with you for the show.

We enjoyed how ornate the inside and outside of the building looked. We bought tickets online, so check-in was fast and easy. The hallways are small, so they will become congested quite easily. The auditorium is beautifully designed, but the seats are narrow. We were expecting everything to be more spacious, but it is what it is. Despite how nice the building was designed, the concession bars were basic and seemed almost makeshift. The products were hastily displayed on the shelves with the lighting strips glaring at you. If I'm paying $5 for a bottle of water, I expect the concession bar to look good.
