Great place to surf mid spring. Paddle boarding is also great. Life guard is on duty. Also fun for the kids to bring their body board on the shore break. Wouldn't recommend for children younger than three. You can feed the fish bread and snorkel with them just off the wall to the right. There are more homeless in the area so watch your things. Dog friendly and tree friendly(you can hang hammocks and slack lines here). Lots of grassy area if you don't want to sit in the sand. Bathrooms are nearby and showers. Lots of parking available but can be busy on the weekends so you can always park at the zoo and walk over. Also a great place to take surf lessons.

I prefer Queens Beach over Waikiki Beach. It's less crowded, ample metered street parking, bigger waves, great for snorkeling (tons of fish), and there are umbrella and beach chair rentals available at an affordable rate. Bring tons of sunblock, food, drinks, snacks and you can spend a whole day here soaking up the sun. It is a little rocky so wear water shoes when you enter the ocean.

Good beach in Waikiki. The water is a good temperature and the sunset is amazing. You can snorkel here. I saw a turtle!! They have bathrooms and food close by. The only downside is that it’s super busy and you need to be careful of your stuff. Many homeless around but honestly that’s normal for any major city so don’t let that deter you from this good beach. The island as a whole has better water elsewhere but if you’re in the city and wanna hangout a bit at the beach it’s good.

This is the archetypal Hawaiian beach. It’s extremely scenic with crystal clear waters in front of you and high rises behind you. It wasn’t too busy even on a Sunday afternoon. You can rent paddle boards, chairs, umbrellas, etc. plenty of metered street parking although the meters are difficult to use with a credit card. Make sure to wear water shoes as it’s rocky when you get out a bit. You’ll see plenty of tropical fish just hanging out in the water. We even saw a monk seal when we were there. There’s an ABC store right across the street if you need snacks, drinks, or ice. Also a restaurant a little farther down the beach.

The view was absolutely gorgeous but the beach itself was full of corals so it was hard to swim in.

Great beach for boogie boarding with the locals. The use of surfboards in the area is restricted but sometimes you get people who have hired boards that have no idea. The beach is wide with plenty of coarse grained sand. Snorkeling on the reef area is also popular because there are plenty of fish - maybe they know it is a marine park area.

Seemed to be less busy than Waikiki beach, and there were fewer children. Quite a lot of rocks in the water.

Great beach with a very strong current ! But you can actually swim here and not just sit like at the beach in the cove next to it :))

Great for snorkeling and boogie boarding. I saw parrot fish amongst many types of fish. Also saw a turtle. Be careful of the coral and rocks if swimming. The water was clear further out.

I love queens beach! It’s family friendly, has a good current, soft sand (some areas in water are rocky), and lots of space to lay out or bring a beach chair. It’s very lively with people coming and going, playing volleyball, and restaurants are across the street. If you go before noon it’s less busy, but after 1-2 there’ll be more people.

Great beach to sunbathe, snorkel, play volleyball, picnic & watch a gorgeous sunset. Has an amazing view of Waikiki, too! I highly recommend!

It's a nice beach with some great waves, but the bottom is not very foot friendly and it's quite shallow, so if you're not wearing water shoes it feels quite dangerous. There were also quite a few beach volleyball nets set up if that's something you like to do

This is a really good beach for snorkeling with a little pier for amazing sunset photos. Do bring water shoes for snorkeling, and do not enter the water without them as the rocks and coral reefs are very sharp and can seriously injure you. Also, there are tons of sea urchins with their sharp needle. Be very careful where you step. Otherwise, a decent amount of different fish. There are not a lot of sea shells.

Great beach, but can’t surf here! Gotta go farther down towards Waikiki for that. Good for families or if you’re just trying to chill

Enjoyed this beach a lot. Clean sand. Right next to Waikiki wall. Less crowded than beaches towards the west. Drank coffee here in the morning. Saw many surfers and body boarders.

Beautiful beach. However too many stones in the water area makes it almost impossible to swim. I injured my toe while swimming.

Beautiful park well maintained. Very peaceful here. The only downside is finding a parking spot.

Really nice beach and park with bathroom. Came here to snorkel once in the afternoon and the morning and unfortunately did not see a thing! Waves were a little strong so could've impacted visibility and number of fish.

👍 Decent little beach located on the south end of Sand Island. Lots of history down in this area. There are also local fishermen, homeless, and stray cats.
