Probably the best beach on the south side to catch waves. Thereโ€™s lots of space and several washing stations. There is also ample parking and rentals available too. Only downside is the rentals close at like 4:30 which seems super early and you cannot bring in dogs. I wish there was a dog area of the beach people could use. They do also have a food truck there now which is great, I hope it stays and maybe even more trucks come there as well.

Beautiful spacious beach. Surfboard rental is for armed forces only. However, the beach is open to the public. Waves are ok for surf beginners. Public toilets and showers are available. There are lockers, you have to bring a padlock.

White Plains is an excellent location for beginners to learn how to surf, which is one of the reasons I enjoy going there. The waves rarely get too large, particularly during the colder months. Because they never stop, it can be very taxing to keep up with them. It is possible for there to be a lot of people there during the weekends and off days, but the beach itself is not particularly remarkable. The sunsets, on the other hand, can be quite lovely.

White Plains Beach or Barberโ€™s Point is located on Federal property and is operated by the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department of the U.S. Military. I observed surfing, sun bathing, paddle boarding, cook outs and children playing in the water. There are lifeguards on duty, restrooms, showers, changing areas, gazebos for reserve and ample parking available. There are cottages available for rent through the MWR. The beach was very crowded the day I went and no one was wearing mask.

For surfing it's a 4. For swimming a 3. They have a designated swim area, lifeguards, and plenty of covered picnic tables. There is also a food truck on sight most days. The swim area is small and the turbulence makes the water cloudy. The sand beach is clean but small. However it's a great place for Kapolei locals to escape the more touristy beaches and practice surfing on less intimidating waves.

This beach is perfect to catch some waves wether youโ€™re on sub or body board, they have lifeguards on duty and some shaded areas with table and benches for all day rent/use. Water is amazing but there are lots of rocks, so watch out. Also not the place for baby swim, too many strong waves, but overall we loved it and had a great time on body boards!

Brought the family over here. It's a huge beach. It's a great beach if you're a beginner surfer. It's pretty cool because they have an area for swimmers only as well. There are waves but not too out of control. Sometimes it's windy it was a little windy today. Not bad though overall a really good beach experience. Lots and lots of sand. We stayed for a long time maybe 5 hours. There's also a place where you can walk on a reef and check out the sites very scenic.

MWR has great deals for military members, including super cheap equipment rentals and surfing lessons. The waves seem great for both beginners and regular surfers based on the crowd I saw in the water.

This was about 15 mins from our hotel in Kapolei. We went here twice. One because it had a great family picture spot for us. The first time we went was just to play on the beach. It was one of the calmer beaches with the kids.

This is a pretty popular beach for longboard surfers whom bring their boards and those with a Military or Civilian CAC/ID card that can rent surfboards. The beach is beautiful - a little bit short but a great spot to take a quick dip and enjoy the scenery and there are often lots of longboard and Stand Up Paddleboarders (SUP) out on the waves. It is quite enjoyable to watch the experienced surfers ride waves for sometimes close to a minute, especially the SUPs that can propel themselves further. "High Theft Area" signs posted at entrance to beach. Be safe, enjoy the sun, sand and water! Mahalo!

Great local beach. A bit out of the way on the Ewa side. Parking lot not paved, but ample parking. Good area for surfers not giant waves bit good South shore swell area. Bath room and shower facilities on-site. Picnic areas for food action. Great vista of Diamond Head and Honolulu.

White Plains is super accessible, plenty of parking, good restrooms. The waves come in constantly and never get too big. Itโ€™s a great place to learn to surf. The wind can get pretty high so donโ€™t expect to set up a beach tent, canopy, or keep your hat on.

What used to be a local beach definitely has more and more tourists every time I come here but itโ€™s still a great surfing beach that monk seals frequent.

It's been raining a lot lately, so let's go to Ewa Beach, which is said to be the least rainy place (?)! ! So, my husband and I went on a short driveโ™ช If you follow the news from Google Maps...huh? here? ? I went down a back road like this, but I was able to follow it properly. (lol) The word "White" caught my eye and I automatically imagined Shirahama, but a (white) simple beach? It was ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐Ÿ˜… When I went there, I could see Diamond Head in the distance, and it was a comfortable beach where you could relax and relax. It was cold so I didn't go into the sea this time, but my husband said it wasn't suitable for snorkeling๐Ÿ˜… However, there are moderate waves, so it might be good for surfing beginners. ? And. (โ†My husband is also a surfing beginner๐Ÿ”ฐ) There is a lifeguard hut (?), but I think it was unmanned when we went...so I doubt if it's for beginner surfers๐Ÿ„. There is also a shower ๐Ÿšฟ, so you can feel refreshed even after entering the sea โ™ช It felt so good to lather on the beach...๐Ÿ˜Š It's a little far from Waikiki, so if you're going for a drive, I think it's a nice, hidden beach. As for the weather...I can't beat the rainy season, and even though I've come this far, it's been raining lightly๐Ÿ˜…

This is a pretty beach filled with military families and surfers. We had fun watching surfers here and just laying in the sun. The bathrooms however were really disgusting.

Its awesome for surfing and wave riding but not as much for kids as I heard. Nice beach but not at all all people praise about.

  • 3/5 Jordan G. 3 years ago on Google
Decent beach that seems to be mostly locals for a change. It is more sandy than other beaches nearby but when swimming youโ€™ll smash your feet/toes on rocks pretty often which takes away from the enjoyment. Sand is sloped and has a drop off right after entering the water. Seems to be very popular for surfing. Not much fun for anything else water wise or kids wise.

Great beginner beach for surfing and also great for those just looking to have fun. I recommend this beach to all my friends and anyone I'm teaching to surf. The waves are consistent, and you can touch the bottom pretty far out. The military can rent boards and condos, but the public can not (or just bring someone from the military, and then you can)

AWESOME beach. Good constant beginner waves. Itโ€™s a drive to get there, and I would NOT leave anything valuable in your car, but itโ€™s a great spot to get away and feel local (unless you are already). Donโ€™t swim too far out from shore unless you like walking on coral. Also, be mindful when you are surfing, that when you fall, donโ€™t dive in. Try to fall flat on the water or you might get scraped by coral during low tide.

This is where I learn to surf in the early 1970's. Use to be a Navy military beach. Now it's open to the public. Great beach if you're just learning to surf. One drawback ...tiger sharks do love this area so surf with caution. Cool thing about this beach.... monk seals love to nap here. Please be respectful of them. Admire them at a distance and use your telefoto lens when taking fotos. They need their rest and trust me they can move faster then you can run on the beach which could be dangerous to you.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ This beach has turned into one of our go to beaches close to home. Love the beautiful views but mostly I love how every time we go there's not a lot of people here. Everyone has space to do what they want whether it's fishing, swimming, body boarding, having a picnic or a bbq, or just hanging out...
