Probably one of the best beaches on Oahu, tucked away on the North Shore. Parking is a bit of a hassle here. There’s the regular parking lot, which fills up quickly each day, and there is street parking leading up both hills. There is a lifeguard on duty regularly here. Please make sure you follow their rules. Bathrooms are on site and relatively clean. The sand is wonderful and water is great. Waves come up in the winter so swimming might not be allowed but if you’re an experienced surfer, you can give it a go. Enjoy the time here and just chill!

Waimea Bay is famous for its 30-foot waves in the winter and is a top place to watch some of the world’s best and bravest surfers. During summer, the water calms considerably and is a great destination for swimming, snorkeling and diving. There's fantastic sunsets here and a large rock that locals & tourists jump off of. The movie Point Break was also filmed here!

Stopped here for a swim today. Parking is a problem . But once you sort it out it's magical. No surf today but awesome crystal clear water. Sand gets hot so bring some shoes. You will need an shade tent or umbrella for some shade. Great place to jump into water from rocks. I'm giving it 5 starts because it was just a great day out .

Probably the best beach on Oahu but it gets pretty crowded at times. We parked in the first $10 lot on the other side of the highway (as you enter the Botanical Gardens drive). It's an easy walk, but you have to cross the highway, which can be treacherous. Be sure to use the pedestrian bridge instead of the highway bridge. Summertime is good if you want to swim, wintertime is good if you want to watch the brave surfers. We went in July which was perfect for swimming. As for wildlife, we saw chickens, Kona cardinals, wild pigs, and the usual assortment of Hawaiian birds.

Sandy beach and no rocks and huge waves. There also are areas you can sit on shade and use picnic tables. Public restroom and showers available. Finding parking is challenging and getting in/out isna little little hassle but very well worth the wait. If you are in Oahu, put this location on your list you will not be disappointed.

One of my favorite beaches in the summer. Don't go in the winter unless you know what you are doing but I'm the summer the water is still and amazing for snorkeling and rock jumping.

One of the most beautiful beaches I have every been to. Parking lot is super small. You can find street parking around, however it can be tough since it’s on a busy road.

Wonderful place though it was windy and water was colder than expected.

We parked up along the highway. The beach is beautiful! Definitely top 5 after driving around the whole island. There is a cliff people throw themselves off of. Wear water shoes. We also took snorkel gear was nice to swim around and a donut to hang out in, beautiful I would love to come back.

One of my favorite beaches on this coastline. Parking is limited, so get in a little early.

Nice and big with soft sand and plenty of room to spread out and enjoy a day at the beach. Parking is the only limiting factor here. There is not much at the park itself, and random street spots fill fast.

So happy we found this spot! So beautiful. The waves were perfect. Didn’t have much luck snorkeling here, only saw one type of fish. Parking also SUCKS. We got so lucky and found a spot when someone was leaving.

Free parking with bathroom facilities. The bay/beach area is FANTASTIC. Coarse sand that is very unique feeling and different from the beaches of south shore. The water is calm and clear. When we went hurricane Dora was approaching the Hawaiian Islands and the water was still relatively calm. Picturesque landscape and a nice fun beach day can be had here. Location is near Waimea Valley/waterfalls!

Beautiful beach. The water is clear and the sand is very fine. We weren't planning on stopping but it was definitely worth it. I jumped off the cliff twice but as we were leaving an ambulance pulled up. Someone said a person jumped off and hit their head on the rock. Evidently, this person was very badly hurt. So, please, be careful if you jump off.

This beach is amazing! Super soft sand and calm waters during the summer time for swimming, snorkeling, etc. We had a sea turtle swim within inches of us! We had to wait a few mins for parking but nothing too crazy.

Out of all the beaches at the north shore, this is probably the most kid friendly one! The waves aren’t rough, bathrooms and showers on site! Additionally, they usually have a law enforcement presence on the beach!

Great view, well worth the entire trip at sunset.

We visited 4 different beaches, and we enjoyed Waimea the most! The waves were stronger and hit harder, which made it fun to ride them! There are many signs that suggest you should swim with caution due to both the waves and rocks that are at both sides of the beach. This beach was definitely worth visiting!

Best beach on the north shore IMO. Huge wave surfing in yhe winter, and great swimming and rock jumping in the summer. Crystal clear water and comfortable white sand to lay on. REALLY fun when the river is high and you can open it to the ocean and surf it.

I LOVED this beach. Parking is tough and the bathrooms are nasty. But loved the sand, location, view, etc… the waves were strong enough to pull people back into the ocean. I thought it was fun, but don’t wade in the waves if you can’t swim.

Pretty awesome beach. Parking is difficult to find though usually best to go early in the morning. Bathrooms and shower available. Lots of room to set up a spot. The rock you can jump off is fun and pretty unique. Just be careful of course
