A beautiful part of the island that sees very little tourism, it's a true spot for the locals. A very clean beach, despite the amount of local foot traffic in the area which is always awesome to see. Waves are calm and the sand isn't too rocky. This is definitely a relaxation/BBQ beach than a surf/swim beach.

This beach is so beautiful. We like to park in the designated areas. There's a public porter potty and a faucet we can use. There's also a nice big grassy field before making it to the beach with picnic benches. It's the perfect place to eat and hangout using a blanket. The sand is very fine here. The waves were calm and we were surrounded by mountains. Highly recommend coming here for the sights and to just have a relaxing beach day away from crowds. Always clean up after yourself and don't forget to comb over your spot to make sure you have all of your possessions and trash. Trash bins are located by the porter potty. Please respect the land.

One of my favorite hidden gems on the windward coast. Multiple swings on the Northern end of the beach for pictures. Crouching lion hike provides amazing view of the bay and valley.

My Family and I rented a car to drive to the North Shore. We spotted this beach on the way. What Serene and Majestic Scenery this Beach ⛱️ Has! Compared to the hundreds of people on Waikiki Beach; THIS BEACH is where we chose to stop and have a Picnic. It was NOT crowded AT ALL and we enjoyed the time we spent here.

Camping: great straight-up on-the-beach spot, it requires a simple permit but there's no campground host. There's not much space or separation between sites, they're just all in a row. Very windy but not chilly. There's outdoor water supply, unsure if potable but convenient for washing off sand. Didn't stay long enough in daylight to see if there were any bathrooms on site. Also the bus stop is right behind campsite 2

Beautiful scenery and not crowded. Public beach, free parking, picnic area and porto potty available. Long beautiful, nice sandy beach. It looks like a safe place to swim. Lots of chickens and roosters to greet you in the parking lot looking for some treats.

Kahana Beach Park turned out to be an excellent decision for us. After indulging in some delicious acai bowls from Coconut Joe, we decided to make our way to this park, and it was a moment of pure serendipity. This park offers a combination of tranquility and stunning views that make it an ideal spot to relax and savor your food. We found a quiet spot to sit down, and as we enjoyed our acai bowls, we were treated to the soothing ambiance of the park. What made it even more special was the relative lack of crowds during our visit, allowing us to relish the peacefulness even more. Although we hadn’t planned for a swim and didn’t have swimwear, we decided to kick off our shoes and let the sand and gentle waves embrace our feet. It was a simple yet delightful experience, reminding us of the joys of being close to nature. Kahana Beach Park is a hidden treasure for those seeking a peaceful moment by the shore. Whether you come here with swimwear ready or just want to enjoy the sand and beach like we did, it’s a place we highly recommend for its serene beauty and relaxed atmosphere.

Beautiful big bay with small to no waves. A great place for kids and those who like long walks on the sand. The trees do leave quite a bit of debris between the parking lot and the water but it's worth the walk over!

Beautiful beach that gives you both beach vibes and the gorgeous mountains.. Great parking and not a lot of deep sand to tread through to get to the beach. Campground surrounds it with water to rinse.

Love this beach. It wasn't crowded with people. The water was calm and smooth. It's not the kind of place with a whole lot of beach recreation going on, it's more of strolling along the beach , walks and sun bathing. No loud music or loud anything. If you like quite and peaceful surrounding at a beach , this is it.

I am hesitant to advertise this little treasure of a private bay.half a mile of secluded beach, protected by a reef and hence very sheltered. Minimal amenities; the one (very clean) restroom is at the northern most end of the beach. In the 20-naughts, we used to be all by ourselves on weekdays at this beach. Those times are history and you will typically 5-10 couples and families here. Which is why I am bidding this beach and Oahu a broken-hearted farewell. But if you are restricted to Oahu and seek the old-style casual Hawaiian beach, then this is as close as you will get.

This is a beautiful spot with visually stunning landscape. Soft sand, deep aqua blue and green waves. Picnic tables, exterior showers, tree shade along the edge of the clean beach. Parking was surprisingly good both visits (week day and weekend). The bathrooms were a bit lacking (smelly, unflushed/clogged toilets, some faucets not working or missing) compared to the rest of the park. Big recommend! Went twice in three days' time. Magical spot.

Very pretty. Maybe not a good place to swim, but a good place to read a book or have a picnic. A lot washes up on the shore including driftwood, plants, and plastic. Would be a great place for beach clean up if you have the time/heart. Lots of chickens :). Not busy at all.

Beautiful beach surrounded by trees. With access to a river great for some paddle boarding. Less turístic and more local

The beach was very tranquil and a bit secluded with no where near the turn out at more popular beaches like Kailua Beach. Good for paddle boarding, catching a tan, and for families with small children (beach swings) The beach is also part of a popular hiking trail, Kapa'ele'ele Ko'a trail which boasts a stunning view, via Keaniani lookout, of the entire bay.

This is a beautiful, secluded, small beach. The park is very clean and I didn't see many people when I visited. I agree that the beach may not be very convent if you are based in Honolulu/Waikiki, but this is a true hidden gem definitely worth a visit if you prefer to avoid the crowds.

Our favorite beach of the several we visited while on Oahu. A crescent-shaped beach surrounded by mountains. As peaceful as it is beautiful. A great place to walk the beach, swim, or sun bath. There is a restroom and tree swing. We were there on a weekday morning, but I imagine parking can be a problem since there is more beach than parking area.

Nice beach on the way towards the north coast of Oahu. It was very calm when we were there, maybe due to the rainy weather that day. Inviting for a short beach walk, the views are amazing.

Sweet serenity among the Ironwood trees. Camping with permit allowed. Public restrooms & showers across the highway. Usually too silty for snorkeling. Scenes from Elvis' movie, Blue Hawaii filmed across the highway, in the coconut Grove, which is very source now.

Great beach to hang out and just chill especially if you have young kids. Water is calm and you can walk way out into the bay since it's almost like a sand bar. Washroom facilities close by too.

If you are in the area and want to have a nice Beach experience without a ton of people this is a great spot. Parking was not bad and the park had plenty of space for a picnic for the family as well and foot washing locations.

Great area. Beautiful beach with showers and plentiful parking. Only downfalls are that is has no cell service and the only bathrooms are porta-pottys. Other than that it's a great place to spend an afternoon (unless you're a tourist)

🫤 Sad! Beautiful beach but unfortunately ruined by humans. Unstable homeless allowed to sleep under pavilion and setup tents in the camping area. 😐 This is NOT the black sand beach on the Big Island and for some reason Google has reviews stating this. Instead, this is a quiet beach with calm waters and nice sand on Oahu. Did not see any turtles and it is unlikely that they would stop by here. There's also a public bathroom here.
