I don't know, I've given this place a lot of chances over the years and mostly ate here to support my local community even after my friends stopped after their similar experiences. Most of the food is flavorless. I just received probably the worst looking pita sandwich. I get that perhaps business really wanted to stuff all this food into the Pita but the Pita in front of me is not only falling apart but it looked like it was wrapped by someone who has never wrapped anything in their life and to top it off.... this pita was UNDER a container filled with Hummus?! You do not put heavy things over softer items!! I cant even eat it as a sandwich. Not the end of the world, I can get a dish out and a use a fork but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. I'm just disappointed and luckily for me Waialae Ave has a lot more options nearby

Family owned and run by the sweetest Israeli family. You can really tell the owner Sagi is passionate about what he does and it shows in his food. I always get their falafel mix plate (vegetarian option) and it is absolutely divine! The falafel is crispy and soooo flavorful. Eggplant cooked to perfection. Side salads also refreshing. Highly recommend it. Last but not least….. their home made pita is BOMB! They don’t use any preservatives - so always fresh and fluffy. I always order extra to have in my house. Love it. Go now!

The food is bad without any taste at all. Always saying leave the original food for it is original people and don’t try on us for fun and money. The falafel 🧆 is full of oil and cold. Shawarma is not a shawarma so in this case I will call it 🤔plastic wrap. Hummus not fresh and it is canned one. The place not clean and dirty from inside and the outside. The owner oh boy sooooo arrogant, when I told him about the food as an advice for improving the kitchen then replied that “I don’t care because restaurants is not my main business and my main business selling the bread “ ok then close 😁. Of course don’t go there. Mahalo

Not even close to a real falafel or shawarma. Got dry chicken in a pita with a cabbage salad on top. Same with the tasteless, dry falafel balls. One of the worst I have eaten

Got the falafel and enjoyed it! Tasty stuff, and a real Mediterranean taste! Best if all, the young man who took our order couldn't have been kinder! It makes me want them to succeed!

The pita is so fresh and fluffy and makes all the difference! The hummus is so smooth it’s almost whipped and the falafel are nice and crunch and full of delicious flavor. Ask for extra spicy sauce!

Guess they don't like Asians, everybody else seems to have great things to say...the person manning the counter on Saturday afternoon was loud and rude...should have expected this though. A few years back I ordered catering for our Buddhist temple. Staff was just as unfriendly then. Our order was scheduled for 104 pickup...we arrived early like 20 minutes, to order pita packs which are not on the online order menu...our order was already ready with the bags seeping oil. What would the bags look like had they been sitting there for another 20 minutes...food is good though. Staff enough to keep me from ever going again.

I've been here on Oahu for a bit, and it took me quite awhile to find this gem of a restaurant. The food is authentic, tastes great, and the staff is very friendly. You might run into issues trying to park here, so be mindful of when you go. Besides that, it's definitely a place to try. I had the Shaloha plate, and it was the right choice.

This place is consistently good and the portions are large. The entire plate is filled up with the main entree with sides such as rice, pickled cabbages, hummus, and pita breads. The pita breads are not dry at all and they are super soft. The price is reasonable because you get lots of food. The owner was there and he is so friendly. A small business that comes with that unique touch of care.

Fantastic array of food options available. I particularly enjoyed the pita chips paired with their fresh hummus. I couldn't resist returning the next day for more. Not to mention, their generosity with portions is truly noteworthy!

One of our new favorite restaurants! They have the Shaloha plate which comes with a little bit of everything from the menu (which can feed two people) and we loved everything we tried and the big piece of breaded chicken was by far the best chicken I have ever had! (We also got the shawarma pita and it was great too!)

Excellent Mediterranean food, good portions, good price. Take out only. Highly recommend the Falafel Pita Wrap and all the Plates. Free pita chips with student Id. Easily one of the best values on Oahu.

I love their food. It's an mini experience of Israel. Food is just delish!! My favorite is their falafel! They have home made pita bread. They sell them by the bag but every meal comes with pita. You won't regret it!! Get the shaloha plate. It has everything in it.

Food was fresh made to order and nice flavors. We had the shwarma pita and the hummus pita with a side of falafel. The pitas were packed! Friendly service. Steady stream of customers while we were there. Atmosphere rated low because there is no seating. it's basically a walk up counter and a busy parking lot. Would go again and may even cater some trays for a party from there, though.

I’ve tried almost everything thing in the menu and it’s all extremely good and fresh. Their plates are expensive but they are huge (easy two servings) and give you a very wide variety of food within them. The pita is always fluffy and perfectly cooked. Love these guys, mahalo for being around 🤙🏼

I was looking forward to eating here, as I’m an Israeli and just moved to Hawaii. I grew up in Raanana / Ramat Gan, so I know authentic Israeli food. I was a bit disappointed as my Pita was very undercooked and had a doughy texture with lots of flour left on top. The falafel balls were heavier than I’m use to, and lacked flavor / seasonings. The salads didn’t taste like back home, but that could be changed with some lemon or lime juice, salt and pepper. The eggplant was delicious. My craving for authentic Israeli food wasn’t satisfied, but I won’t write this place off just yet. I’ll try it again before making that decision. Oddly, I was expecting Israelis to greet me and prepare my food, but that didn’t happen. But that’s no one’s fault, I just hoped for some familiarity when I found this place. I was excited at the idea of not being the only Israeli in Hawaii.

This was my first Israeli food ever. It couldn't have been a better experience. The owner helped me by suggesting a dish that let me taste a little of everything (the Shaloha plate). It was delicious, WAY more food than my wife and I could eat, and was very affordable. The sauces are unique and amazing. I also got their lemon mint drink. WOW! Great organic/natural taste. Not too sweet like so many drinks these days and I could tell there was a bit of lemon zest flavor in there as well that really kicked it up a notch. My favorite in the Shaloha plate was the Schwartz (chicken), and my wife loves the hummus and falafel. The cabbage were also good.

Fresh delicious dishes with large portions and a fair price. Highly recommend. Limonana is also very refreshing mint lemonade drink 😋

This place is so yummy! It may seem expensive at first but it is so much food when you get one of their plates!! I always have leftover food for yummy eating later. I get the mixed plate and it’s delish!

As a long time Kaimuki-an, this hole in the wall foodery fills a nice missing puka in the piko of culinary options in Kaimuki! So ono, try the Shaloha plate first to get your beatings. And come hungry! And dont forget your punch card.

You know when you ask twice for extra sauce for your felafel and then you drive away and it's bone dry? I hate that. I also don't understand the menu where you pay the same for a felafel as one with meat inside. I want the felafel to be cheaper because it was $15.+

We where looking to eat a Mediterranean food in this island but nothing was good until we try Shaloa food . First of all the service was amazing the guy in the front was very friendly and helped us with the questions. We order the Shaloa plate, shawarma plate and the falafel plate . The plate was big it’s good for sharing .The sides salad was tasty and very good also they sale original French fries which was also very good. The schnitzel and the shawarma was very yummy and the falafel was also good but a little bit dry . The hummus was great . Overall for the food and the hospitality I’ll definitely comes back and I highly recommend this place. It’s better then the rest of the Mediterranean food I try on this island .

It’s pretty cool. If you like falafel and also want to be cool, then this is a pretty cool spot.

Halal options are very few on the island. Shaloha is a good chicken shawarma option ذبح حلال

As usual, everything was Amazing! My husband got the Falafel pita because it's his favorite and I tried the Eggplant pita this time- omg... it is now my favorite thing on the menu! Thanks for always serving up great food and being so friendly:)

It is really good Flafel sandwich, perhaps the best on the island. The only cons is $13 for just a sandwiche is a little overpriced.

I didn't think much of the Falafel. I've had better at other places, and actually made my own from scratch which was better. I haven't tried anything else, so I can't say for the rest of the menu.
