If you have access to Ford island, this is the most remarkable way to honor the fallen at Pearl Harbor. It’s as close as you can get for free. Stunning views. Stunning tree. I can’t wait to go back. But, like others have said, you have to have exclusive access to Ford island. Not just anyone can come visit here. Please be respectful as it is military housing area.

Remarkable and magnificent banyan tree. Tree is directly across from a view of the USS Arizona Memorial.

Fantastic location and the view is incredible. However, a few things to note. First, this at the end of a street in a populated neighborhood for the families of our service members. Be respectful, quiet, and avoid making loud noises - as you don't know if the service member works an alternative shift. Probably best to avoid going entirely. Second, avoid putting coins on the memorial. The penny's stain the white paint and does not add to the aesthetics - I understand the meaning behind the coins, but frankly, take your money and donate to a charity that helps our service members instead.

Located on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor. It's my favorite Banyan Tree on the whole island of Oahu! The vibe is calm and serene with a beautiful view of the USS Arizona Memorial! We love being able to see history first hand!

This free is huge and amazing. He views of the USS Arizona in the area are stunning as well. Birds and Mongoose live in and around the tree. The grounds are sacred, and is a military neighborhood, so please be respectful. Living on Oahu, with access to Ford Island, I’ll be visiting often.

This is a very old Banyan tree on Ford Island. Like most other reviews mention, be respectful of the location, this is an active military community. Second, the USS Arizona is right off the shoreline here which is hollowed military waters. The view of the memorial is awesome. The tree is pretty impressive as well, unfortunately, its pretty scarred from people carving their names and other words into the tree. Very historical and impressive.

Prehistoric looking beast of a tree. Please don’t carve your name, it doesn’t belong to you.

The most beautiful and relaxing location I’ve ever been to. The fact that you can sit there or stand under this tree and feel peace is amazing. I love this location so much I pinned it to come back for our next Hawaii vacation. There is a beautiful view of the USS Arizona Memorial as well! Which is a win win!

A big tree, it's in the middle of millitary housing and is right in front of the USS Arizona Memorial plaque. Excellent view of pearl harbor and the Arizona

Really cool spot for promotions and re-enlistments. Great view of the Arizona Memorial. Lots of vandalism on the banyan though. Very beautiful otherwise.

It's a big beautiful banyan tree. Military neighborhood, so be respectful. Only military, retired and DOD have access. Lovely view of the Arizona Memorial. Great picture site

Beautiful spot, watch the waters edge as the ground is eroding and could fall away under you. Keep a close eye on kids. Wonderful pictures can be taken here.

Peaceful and serene location (opposite of USS Arizona memorial; shore side - Ford Island) for such a historical national tradgedy. A must see if you can. This site is on private property and very difficult to access. Very beautiful, with historical housing; activly being lived in. As much as it's worth to see in person, it's worth the same to leave it as it is, let it retain it's own dignity and leave it in peace. I'm not leaving a picture. A memory is good enough.
