I try not to eat here too much because the food is so good and they give you a lot of it. Daily specials are always excellent.

Go on Thursday for lunch and get the prime rib. It is amazing.

This was a great place to eat at. There plenty of options for anyone. I will say get there before 12 because a lot of the good options may be sold out. The portion size is very generous. I still got plenty of food after getting a small plate. My friend got a large and couldn't finish it. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and knew everything about their food. One point of criticism would be for them just to update the interior and boom a 5 star. In terms of price you could spend around 8 to 12. Maybe more if you buy extra items. And the side sauces or toppings had a great selection for any taste pallet. Would definitely come again.

Might be the Max of Max and Lucy’s…such a great sense of humor on so many levels. He is great with the back banter, so gave your wits about you! I always smile. I had the meatloaf and gravy. The gravy came with “magic” mushrooms…which made me laugh. I don’t like mushrooms magic or otherwise an if truly magic I didn’t want to dull my superhero powers. He removed the mushrooms with a smile and nod and the lunch was awesome. Good food, good prices, and good people. All you can hope for!!!

Food is tasty. Went there just before noon and they were out of a lot foods. Need to go early to get your varieties.

𝗠𝗮𝘅 & 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝘆'𝘀 (𝟴/𝟭𝟬 🌟) 🔹𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸: (𝟴 🌟) Overall I thought the food was good. 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗸𝗶 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗼 $𝟭𝟰 was very tasty and tender. Check out our reel to see how tender. The portion size was very generous. I had enough for breakfast the next day. The Teriyaki Chicken was good but sauce was more shoyu chicken than teriyaki. Needed to be thicker and sweeter to be teriyaki. The roast pork was very good. I liked that there was still chunks of pork. Some places serve roast pork that's too much like mush. The mushroom gravy was also good and I loved that they ask you if you want gravy on the rice. Of course I do! The potato salad was good and had just the right hint of mustard. My family and I had a wonderful experience at Max & Lucy's downtown Honolulu! The owner, Michael is an amazing cook and an even more amazing host. We are new to the area and heard about this gem through a sporting community on Oahu that Michael and his business sponsor. Feels good supporting a local business that supports the community (and the food was delicious too)!!!

My brother took me here for breakfast. To me this place felt like a quaint little restaurant. He recommended the breakfast special which was fried rice with egg and a choice of breakfast meat. I asked for an over easy egg and lil smoked sausages called smokies. I also ordered the Americano with vanilla. Overall I liked the fried rice and the smokies. The egg was more over medium and it felt smaller than a regular one. The Americano with vanilla was good too warming me especially with wind and rain.

Ok, I’ve lived in Hawaii for 13 years and Max & Lucy’s is officially the best breakfast spot if you want great food and fantastic customer service. I haven’t tried their lunch yet but I’ve heard it’s pretty amazing. Thanks Max & Lucy’s for being here!

Service was fast and upbeat. The food was plentiful for what you're paying. The fried rice was spicy and salty, great for a hearty meal, not so great if you've got a history of high cholesterol. There were no veggies in it. The chicken wasn't seasoned much, fried with chicken broth sauce, still pretty good. For $6 you get fried rice, a meat choice and an egg. I'm not a treasure hunter but I can't find that in town anywhere. Would come back for a quick eat!

Tuesday’s sirloin steak was delicious! Such a friendly, family atmosphere in this gem of a restaurant.

Love their breakfast Bentos! Lieber is also very entertaining. I like the upbeat music he plays

Haven't been here in super long time. Happy to see that nothing's changed. Got a steak plate with brown rice, green salad, and lilikoi dressing.

Hidden gem! Max and Lucy’s is a great place to get a home cooked lunch! I usually make my own lunches or go to Whole Foods hot bar but this place is way more convenient and quick being right next to my barbershop. The chicken is cooked perfectly and juicy and they have sides and fresh baked desserts as well. Mike the owner is always there with a smile and friendliness. I’m definitely going to be a regular here from now on.

Aloha all; so this little poppa diner is awesome, one of my favorite breakfast and lunch spots in the area. They have great little breakfast bento with fried rice and your pick of spam, or sausages with your style of egg , or a breakfast sandwhich. His lunches are really ono as well from baked chix to prime rib day. But it's also the owners spirit that will have you coming back, great guy just happy to have you as his customers and the shop is named after his children. If your lucky you'll get to meet his great kids while your there.

Fast, convenient and delicious. If you're in the area and looking for good food, good portions and a good price; look no further. Try at least once and you'll go back to try something else.

Great breakfast bento - only $3.50. White rice or fried rice, eggs (your way) and choice of meat (little smokies, Portuguese sausage, bacon, etc).

Came for a special Yelp dinner where we had a pre-set menu of their specialty items! It was a great introduction to their menu, including customer favorites like a basil and cheese-topped salmon that was perfectly cooked and prime rib slices that had me stuffing my face way more than I should have. I hear they do a fantastic breakfast too - but you’ll have to go early as they are a popular dining spot with the federal and state workers from th agencies nearby.

The best prime rib I've ever had and also affordable price.
