Had high hopes for this place since they were the magic behind the former Home Bar & Grill, but my first visit was a little bit of a let down. I'm not worried though. They literally just opened so I think they are still working out the kinks. Got the Wafu Hamburger Steak (5 oz. Burger Patty, Tsukemono, Kabayaki Braised Onion & Mushrooms, Daikon Oroshi, Homemade Ponzu, Fried Onions, Potato Mac Salad, Fried Garlic Chips, Green Onion). Flavoring was a little on the salty side (bar food style) but pretty on point otherwise and the creativity was definitely there and what I'm used to from these guys. The Hamburger was a little overcooked and on the harder side though. Menu says "All burgers are cooked Medium-MW" so I suppose that was the intent...? Like I said though, I am not worried at all and is why I still give them 4 stars. I am excited to try the other things on their menu (a friend recommended the "Fish, Chips & Dip Sandwich" - Tempura Battered Swai, Toasted Hoagie, Caper Aioli, Tsuyu Dipping Sauce) and will definitely be back time and time again. It won't be long until they get in their groove and this becomes one of the hottest plate lunch stops in Hawaii. Rooting them on! #supportlocal 🤙🏼

Ordered Wagyu hamburger steak plate. It was very generous amount with lots of toppings. Macaroni potato salad was just right texture and very tasty. And Japanese pickles (fukujin-zuke) helped change pallet. One thing if I can add my opininion is there are too many flavors on the hamburger steak. This is an oroshi daikon & ponzu sauce plate. I think the onion and mushroom saute can be an option. So we can enjoy the oroshi and ponzu flavor much better.

I wanted to eat their Negitoro$18, but their negitoro is NOT Negitiro actually. It was just a poke bowl. I don't know why they call it Negitoro. I was so disappointed, because I didn't want poke bowl. Negitiro has to be some chopped chu-toro with green onions. Please tell them what Negitiro is exactly. They don't even know what negitiro is.

It's a hit or miss but always good food. Hit or miss meaning you gotta pay attention to the specials or else you will miss it. I had this Salmon donburi which was amazing. I asked when it will be back and she said don't know. They make what they get for the day. If they get ahi belly, ahi belly it is, if they get Salmon, Salmon it is, thats why you gotta pay attention and get it fast or else sold out. Kinda pricey place for a plate lunch.

I tried the Rib eye loco moco and it was solid! The medium rare rib eye came over a bed of rice with a side of mac salad and 2 over easy eggs. The mac was creamy and very peppered, complimenting the rib eye. When ordering, they will ask how well you want the steak and eggs cooked. They also have many other interesting plate lunch options. Highly recommended! The restaurant is located on a side street and has a small parking lot attached to it out front. IG: kay_okay_eat

Best hidden gem in the heart of Kakaako for an upscale gourmet cuisine style plate lunch. The Daily specials usually sell out quickly so order ahead of time. Fresh ingredients and just the right amount of seasoning makes their food taste like you’re eating at Michelin five star restaurant. 🤙😋

We had two lunch plates, an Arnold Palmer, sugar cookies. Overall food was good. Total was $40*. Cashier was very friendly and assisted us with allergy information. The meat patties were the only thing we didn't love. Mac salad has a strong flavor, thinking maybe celery seeds, I liked it, my friend did not. The cookies seem homemade without added artificial stuff which we enjoyed. Big pluses are great parking and tables with a/c where you and sit and enjoy your lunch.

Generous portion of crinkle fries were still white (undercooked) -- could have asked to be cooked to a browner shade but I was in a hurry. Tonkatsu Sando was delicious, but next time I'll ask for dressing (Russian?) on the side for dipping. Need plenty napkins. Two flat pieces of tonkatsu about 3/8" thick on brioche bun -- even one-half was filling. If you've never tried a Tonkatsu (deep fried breaded pork cutlet) sandwich, this place is where to get a good one.

I had “special of the day”, pork salad burger. Soft cooked pork was amazing, came with avocado, salad and generous portion. The awesome crew made our dining experience superb, highly recommend 👍

Can’t remember what I first ate from here but it was so delicious! You need to call in your order asap to get the good Speshos!! Otherwise, the line gets long like any good eating place! Wish I didn’t live so far, I’ll be back after my next doctor appointment, Lol!

I ordered smoked meat plate, which came with fried chicken, and spam. Smoked meat - perfectly seasoned, just enough spice - not over powering the taste. Crispy chicken was perfectly cooked - juicy on the inside. The spam was offset the spice of the smoked meat. Great combination. This place closes at 2pm, so you need to get their early. Call in first

Menu is straight forward. Generous portion of a lunch plate. Good customer service & friendly staff. What not to love this place? Ordered ahi katsu $16 + tax which is heaven for my tummy. Though the meat fish itself is a bit dry, it still elevate its flavor coz they got a good seasoned sauce on top of the katsu. Also tried their birthday butter mochi & lemon cake bar. Both perfect for snackin’. Will surely be back in here to try their other available menu!
