By far the worse hospital ever!!! My mother was taken to this hospital due to her falling and her being incoherent. They claimed she had a concussion and that was it. And then they sent her back home claiming it wasn't a big deal. Once she got home she was still beyond incoherent and she was also having other symptoms on top of the ones she already had. So I ended up calling 911 again. Come to find the doctors at this hospital were 100% wrong on her diagnosis. Her kidneys were actually failing on her and a few other issues that they didn't even catch with the testing that they claimed they ran. Thank goodness for Queens hospital, because they ended up catching all of the issues she was having and they said we were lucky that we called because she could of died๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿ˜ก. But Queens hospital ended up saving her life. If it was left to this hospital she would of died and then they would of had a huge lawsuit on there hands. (FYI I'm still looking into getting a lawyer) I will never allow any of my family members to go to this hospital ever again. This is a whole new level of they don't care about their patients.

These doctors have a lack of empathy for their patients. Not only are they condescending but they're very cold towards you. I understand they have a difficult job to do but there's a way to treat people and they lack the ability to show any compassion for people in pain. Instead they want you to feel incompetent for not knowing something when you just want help because you're in pain.

Update: Sure enough, they missed a fracture in my xray. I was sent away, and ended up being seen by a different hospital 2 months later to find I had a metatarsal fracture that had gotten substantially worse due to Straub's failure to do their job. I'm now on month 8 of healing... a break that should have healed in 2 months. I lost my job, had to relocate, and had to sell a vehicle for funds. Avoid this place at all costs. It's not worth worsening your symptoms. ------------ Check in was annoying, the people are rude and condescending. I came here to get seen for a swollen and painful foot. I received very little attention for it, and no reasoning behind it. I NEVER LEFT THE WAITING ROOM besides a quick Xray. All of my evaluation and medical information was discussed in front of everyone in the waiting room. If this itself is not a HIPAA concern in itself.... They looked at the swelling on the top, but didn't even inspect the foot as a whole, and sent me out the door with crutches (AT MY REQUEST for the pain of walking on it), and a suggestion to elevate and ice it. And of course to come back if it still gives me issues.. (Easy to say when the cost is of no concern to them..) Well, here I am nearly a month later, still just as swollen, just as painful.. Have not been able to walk around and my quality of life reduced dramatically. But if they think I'll be returning to Straub for follow-up, how mistaken they are. I'll find a provider that actually cares to do their job properly, as this is not the place for quality medical care.

Horrible customer service, nurse decided to mock my girlfriend and I for not knowing our way around the facility, after arriving for the first time. The "doctors" didn't take my post-operative, inability to breathe out of my nose, seriously.

I donโ€™t know who runs this operation, but every person who attended to or came into contact with my father was awesome. My father had chest pains and couldnโ€™t move. I called 911. The EMTโ€™s in a fire truck arrived in about 5 minutes. The ambulance took longer as it had to come from 20 miles away. Every person was gentle, patient, and caring. At the hospital, every healthcare workers came into contact with was patient, seemed to genuinely care, and communicated well. Normally in any organization you might encounter a few people who are exceptional. In this case every person at every level was exceptional. I encountered nearly a dozen individuals. As an employer and trainer, I wonder how this culture was hired and developed. Five hours of observation and tests my father was ok. He said it was the best hospital heโ€™s ever been to.

Worst help I had. I went to Straub Thursday night because my UTI symptoms are worsening and hadn't gotten my urinalysis reflex to culture and sensitivity from my PCP. They did that here. Found out I have a multi drug resistant bacteria. But told me to keep takinga medication my PCP gave me. Went for the second time because meds got me allergic. Didn't flush the old medication and just straight up gave me new antibiotic, steroids, and benadryl. Then sent home. My symptoms worsen, my bf called 911. I was sent back there, only be sitting outside with no help. My bf even had to ask for COVID test so I can be sent inside for help. My result took a while. I was negative then sent home. Had to go to Queens West Oahu for an actuak help and they did everything there. This ER is gonna kill me.

My 95year old mother took a fall at home. She ended up being taken to Straub on King Street. After being assessed by nurses and doctor, she was admitted to the hospital for surgery. While in ER, behind the curtain, others were also being assessed and attended to. We had to wait our turn as they prioritized the urgent patientโ€™sโ€™ diagnoses over hers. plus we waited for the X-ray and CT results. Nevertheless she was admitted to the hospital for surgery and drs decided to operate in two days due to the blood thinners she was taking. They ordered pain killers for the time being and she patiently waited for surgery. Nurses and hospital and surgical doctors were very accommodating and hospitable. I was pleasantly pleased! Surgeon Dr You was absolutely a great doctor always keeping us abreast of his work on her and gave me a lot of information as to next steps. Great health services at Straub and doctors!

My (now) husband and I landed in this ER the morning of our wedding. The staff was excellent- compassionate, respectful, professional, engaged, caring, and thorough. From the moment we walked in the door, we were well taken care of and felt like we were getting the best possible care. Through their hard work and dedication, we were able to get our issues resolved and still make it to our wedding on time. Thank you for all that you do- your facility and staff is just wonderful and is highly recommended for good, efficient emergency care.

This place was amazing. I had a kidney stone and was in the worst pain of my life. They had me in a room and gave me pain medicine within my first 5 minutes there. CT scan and treatment and discharged within 2 hours. The majority of the time I was there I was waiting on a disc of my scans that I requested. I think my nurse was Ms. Brittany. She was amazing! Excellent care! Best ER experience ever!

By far the worse ER ever, don t waste your time going there, I was suffocating and the doctor was so rude, worst ER in the world and I have lived in a 3th world country, so imagine getting the worst ER in Honolulu

Dr. Jenefer Oyama was extremely rude. I normally never write reviews, but I just think this needs to be acknowledged. I understand that this is an ER, but Iโ€™m coming here to get help. Basically wasted my entire day. I really hope she was just having a bad day.

Very kind and informative staff. I was updated with all of the information I needed and highly recommend Straub. If you stay overnight you get a TV and for hospital food it is golden. This is the hospital you want to go to. Again, staff is very friendly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been there so many times, and the outcome is always the same: fantastic staff, great doctors, excellent care. They work so hard, and long hours, I still don't know how they do it. Thank you!

Thank you honestly the best emergency medical team! I ever met! All the doctors are wonderful and really do work hard and care about their patients! My husband was in the ambulance and got sent here and I was so grateful they took care of him right away no wait unlike at our military ER. Really grateful for all these hardworking doctors I met ๐Ÿ™ they helped my husband and are military friendly!
