DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VALUABLES IN THE CAR. THEY WILL GET STOLEN.The natural water slide is here!! Is was fun and worth it if you enjoy hiking and small thrills. We did park and hike a ways to get there. The trail to get there is a bit treacherous once you get to one certain point and it kind of looks like the trail goes over a giant rock and a fallen tree and pops up again after you climb over. You could also step on the rocks in the stream to make it around, but they could be very slippery. Once you make it, the "water slide" is on the left side of the stream and a little bit lower than the top of the mini waterfall.

Lovely hike! Short hike to the swimming hole with tiny waterfalls. Roots to to climb over. Once you get to the giant fallen tree go over it and the jackass ginger pool is not even 10 minutes away. Dress in swim clothes or bring extra clothes! Not too hard to get there my kids have done it since young toddlers but its not paved or anything. No bathrooms. You'll get at least your feet wet just to cross so plan for that. You can jump in,swim, splash, baby friendly swimming etc. Hiking sandals would be great or shoes that can get a bit wet on the way. Parking is tough but you can park down the road and walk a bit. All trails(see photo) will take you to trail start. Follow to dot for the pond/pool/waterfall/swimming hole. Short hike to the swimming area with waterfalls perfect for a swim and picnic!

I like this place is very nice to see the mostera plants growing free! The creek can be very strong after raining, the trail by it self is somehow boring unless you just go for a fast open wild run willing to get wet and muddy. The trail is not to clear on some parts

'twas a Fun adventure, indeed (though I might have felt like a 'Jackarse' myself, hurting left foot a wee'bit ~ on the friggin'Day before Flying back. Maybe that's how they got the name :-* ; very nice how it could be on one's List: Complimentary Visits for HI goals. especially so we may feel confident w/extra 'splurge' of a little boba TEA/ UBE malasadas/ MOCHI WAFFLES AT FISHHOOK in Waikiki area {!!!}'er whatever one prefers as we're glad & honored to be able to help Support Local Businesses& Families)! i would Highly recommend this hike & Serene pool to jump in (ESP. if daring enough around slick Rocks getting back out of water; but if you're understandably one that more so Enjoys watching folx jump, between hiking ~ one dude even 'showed off' W/BACKFLIP Dive though that's *NOT RECOMMENDED* ~ there's a Beautifully Perfect lil'*Throne* of A Rock in middle of waterfall stream en route to 'jump off peak' w/Absolutely Exquisite Views. I could sit there for hours ~ reading; meditating; picnicking/ whatever feels best at Time. i hope that the Spirits of the Kings, Queens & All Ancestors of Hawai'i could feel my appreciation for being there w/little Song I quietly sang between jumps ~ as i also hope Even More Deeply & will do all I can to come to an Agreement on Returning Sacred Land[/more Respectfully Sharing land, now that some are concerned w/Defense?] to Natives) 🌺 Please remember to WEAR STURDY, PROTECTIVE WATER SHOES/ have someone help ya out of water, whenever possible! It wasn't a difficult hike for my "Early Thirty-Self"; but unfortunately my dear Grandma had to "Sit this one out" due to the incline. Awesomely though, I didn't hurt myself jumping *in* water, thanks to Everyone there being very helpful about where was SAFE to jump (at the time I visited in 2022's June, straight ahead Jump was Only Confident way ~ no side flips recommended! One of the underwater rocks to the Right of Jump was actually high up enough to sit on for resting/ Rock WARNING, if needed for possible Younger crowd that parents are worried about jumping). Of all the Places I very Much Enjoyed visiting during Our Blessed Weeklong Vacation, this is definitely one that I'd include on (hopeful) lists going back to Gorgeous HI islands! (Especially since now I know ~ be extra Careful Going Up, as Gravity Helps let going down be Surprisingly easy! ^_^ & I'll need to take a bigger recycling/ compost/ landfill bag{S?!} in *Hopeful* Future hikes! There was sadly a lot more crud around, than me & my One lil'grocery bag were ready For during my TRANSFORMING TOURISM goals.... Also, apparently a lot of jerky JACKALS leave/ break GLASS around WATER/ hike area there ~ THANKS FOR ENJOYING W/ CAUTION! & sorry to those Seeking out that Rope to Help jump Further into Pool ~ 'tis gone! ENJOY SAFELY!!!) 🌻 🌈

If you like walking through bug infested bamboo forest where your car is at risk of getting broken into, then help yourself! I only hope that you are part mountain goat because you have to be to be able to get to the falls & the pond! We didn't make it that far as there was a sheer cliff to go down & being over 55 & over 60, we were not going to chance it!!! Easy my arse!!!

Parking is limited to the side of the road. DO NOT park on peoples property as it is rude and causes significant damage to their property. That goes out to the guy whose Hawaiian License plate is RAJ and drove all over someones yard to turn his car around. Not cool! So, wait and look for a sliver of road shoulder to park safely as it is a very narrow street. With that said, I could spend all day exploring this hidden gem of an area. Visited in January and there were very little bugs to contend with and frankly I came underprepared. So, here are a few tips: take water, take a snack, wear good shoes, get your camera ready and TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU. So, sad to see trash littered around that I took a moment to police up bottles and other trash. This place is tranquil, peaceful and please respect it.

Pretty... but much less secluded than I had hoped for (people's back yards overlook it). Looked like a good source for Leptospirosis so we decided to stick with the beaches for swimming.

I have done this hike a couple times. This last hike, I went with people who wore flip flops. Then it started pouring buckets. We ended up abandoning the hike about a half mile in because we had no idea how much rain would fall and if we would be able to cross the stream or if it would turn into a flash flood. Previously, I hiked to the end and jumped in the pond, which some developer had the not so bright idea to build right up to within feet of the pond. So it takes away from the hike experience when you go along the trail and end up realizing you are just outside someone's fenced back yard

Easy parking, mostly shade thanks to the canopy of trees, slippery, muddy, wet, leaves line throughout most of the lower level trails. There were people in slippers. Toddlers seemed fine on this trail. There are lots of trails and we explored 2. Some steep climbs if you choose to hike those.

Easy fun short hike to the pond. Different paths for different distance. You can go on the right after the stream and get right to the pond or you can go straight and have a longer hike up and down. BUT! Parking is sketchy. A lot of broken glass on the side.

Juda trail across the way had some awesome clear paths but a few off shoots that shot straight up. Great for families and more adventurous folks as well.

Getting to this pond is a nice little track, but you have to go down a hill to get to it. I would only advise going if you are in shape. These bad knees of mine barely held up.

Really easy beginners hike. Marked paths were easily seen and walkways were very muddy on parts of the trail.
