There are other snorkeling experiences out there but this was by far the best I have ever been on. Captain Max and Santiago provided an amazing time, they were able to provide one on one instruction, conversation and answered all of our questions. You can tell this is their passion and not just a gig for them, their knowledge of the waters and species around Hawaii was astounding. You can go with a bigger operation if you want but you will not get the experience we had, not even close. Do yourself a favor and book with Captain Max. We booked this for the last day of our trip and I'm glad we did. It was a small private boat and the capitan was so sweet. He made us feel special. We got to see alot of turtles, fishes, and other creatures. It wasn't loaded with tourists. It was more intimate. We enjoyed this excursion! Would recommend 100% to all my friends and family. Kayla was very kind and knowledgeable. She made us feel like family. Thanks for the lasting memories!

Our family had such a wonderful experience. We saw so many turtles and beautiful fishes. It’s great that it was only our family, felt like a private tour and we were out on the water before any of the other groups. Garrett and Alex were the sweetest Captain and First Mate. The views of Oahu and Waikiki beach from the waters are incredible. Sea turtles and several varieties of local fish are visible from the boat and snorkeling as the experienced guides lead the way. Affordable short tour w/small groups. Hold on to your hats for a zippy ride out past the reef.

Booked a snorkeling trip with the GoPro option and expectations were beyond exceeded (which were already high)! Diver Kyla was incredible to experience this with for the first time. Not only was she super helpful and comforting to be around, but she was phenomenal at capturing all the things we were seeing so we could have the memory as both picture and video all while still being very present. Plus can we talk about the amazing artistic quality of the pictures?! 😍 Our captain (I believe his name was David?) was absolutely wonderful too and pointed out neat things on the way that I/we wouldn’t have known! We were very thankful for such a fun, knowledgeable, and experienced duo to enjoy this with! 100% would book this team/business again!

Awesome excursion!!! Alex & Devin were great guides and made for a fun time. This was sooooo much better than taking one of the overcrowded boats. The guys got us out there super fast to maximize the time in the water. We swam with turtles, fish, and a large eel made an appearance. This was my wife’s first time snorkeling and she loved it!!! This is the only way to go snorkeling in Waikiki. We Highly Recommend these guys. 😎🤙🏼

Captain Max and Kyla were amazing! It was my cousin’s first time snorkeling and they made sure to explain everything thoroughly. Kyla was so sweet, calm, patient, and professional and made my mom feel comfortable enough to actually get in the water. The small group is 100x better than traditional tours and makes for a more personalized experience. We saw so many turtles, Kyla pointed out all the different fish, and we even got to hold a Steve (sea urchin). Special shout out to our young co-pilots (captain Max’s daughter and pup) that just brought that extra smile to our faces!

We booked our tour kind of on a whim. I was on the fence about as I’ve never snorkeled before but my husband really wanted to go (and I REALLY wanted to see turtles!!). Captain Max was friendly, funny and welcoming but the real gem here was Savannah. She made me feel so comfortable and kept checking to make sure I was okay. It was a great experience all around and we’ll probably be back next year!!

Enjoyed our trip out to Turtle Canyon with Camila at the helm and Savannah as our snorkel guide. Both make you feel like you’re welcome on board and they have great customer service skills. There were five customers on the boat and Savannah made sure we all had a great time in the water. We saw plenty of turtles and colorful fish and and held a sea urchin! Both ladies were taking photos on their personal cameras and sent them to us so we didn’t even need to pull out our phones. If you are like our group of three that prefer small boat tours then this is worth every penny as compared to going on a boat with 50 plus. We would definitely book with captain Max again and we even bought sun shirts from them and we don’t usually buy souvenirs!

What an absolutely wonderful experience! Camila and Savannah were so friendly and informative. Savannah made sure we all got to see sea turtles and pointed cool things out to us while we were snorkeling! The water was clear, the sea creatures were out and about, the weather was perfect. All around perfect trip. Don't hesitate to book your trip with them, it was really nice having a smaller group!

We took the semi private tour and it was the best choice ever! Capt Max and Devon were great hosts. All the other boats seem like they were over crowded and did not get the attention from their captain to point out where the marine life was. We saw turtles, sting rays, fish, and dragons. Yup dragons. 😝 A major plus was the speed boat!!!!!! Don’t book the other boats. Book with Captain Max. You will not regret it.

Captain Max Boat tour to Turtle canyon was such an amazing experience. We had Garrett & Savannah to take us out & honestly Savannah is what made the trip so wonderful. She was not only knowledgeable about the sea life but she gave us a little history tidbit of Pearl Harbor & literally took our 8 year old daughters hand & showed her the turtles personally. Our daughter was extremely nervous being out in the open ocean & we did not think that she would stay out there for 10 minutes but because Savannah was so welcoming & patient with her she was out there the entire time, swimming around with no worries. I would recommend these guys over & over! We had the best experience!

What an awesome morning! I’ve been snorkeling before but never like this. Crew was awesome and so knowledgeable. It turned out to just be my daughter and I on the tour after the other group cancelled. After watching the bigger groups and crowds I was so happy we decided to book with Captain Max! Highly recommend, would never go with anyone else while staying on O’ahu!!

This was the most amazing experience!!!! I was super nervous because it was only the second time I’ve snorkeled… my husband a Florida native loves everything water and it was also his 50th Birthday and I couldn’t have imagined a better way to spend it!!! Our instructor was so awesome!!! She helped to calm me down and put me at ease … she was super informative and knowledgeable and she even had me contemplating getting dive certified upon leaving 😜🤔 After about 5min I was able to relax and fully take in the experience!!! Seeing the turtles up close was amazing also their relationship with the fish that clean their shells was beautiful to see!!! I love that it was a small group (3 couples) plus the captain and instructor. It was a very intimate experience and I loved every moment!!!! I definitely recommend Captain Max Boat Tours and we will definitely book them the next time we are in Waikiki ❤️

Last minute booking wants the perfect way to spend my last morning in Hawaii. Service was excellent and I felt at ease while out on the boat and snorkeling! It was a small group of 4 which felt little was a perfect size. It was my first time and I can't wait to return. We went to a great spot that had an abundance of fish and three sea turtles! It was such an amazing experience. FUN TIP: BE SURE TO BRING OLD CRACKERS OR DRIVE CEREAL FOR SNACKS FOR THE FISH. 🤙🏾

We booked this as a last minute endeavor, and solely picked them for the more private experience. We were able to see spinner dolphins, and the crew paused the haul out there to catch a glimpse!! Ricky was our guide; she was knowledgeable and assured we were all able to see a surplus of fish. Our safety was never put into question; it was a great ride and unforgettable way to end our trip! Definitely book with them as opposed to a large group tour!

This is the ONLY snorkelling tour you need to look at. Captain Garrett and First Mate Kyla were incredible! From the small group setting to the fantastic snorkelling, there are only positives on this excursion. You name it, we saw it. Turtles, dolphins, eagle rays, zillions of fish! This company is the best and we will not hesitate to book with them again!

Truly had a great experience with my daughter when we went over a week ago. The staff is very friendly and knows a lot of interesting facts. Not only did you get to see plenty of turtles but we also got to see different types of fishes as well. They had a ladder when returning to the boat which made it easier for me to get back on and they help you if you need extra assistance. The views on the way back was incredible of Waikiki and diamond head. I look forward to bringing more of my family members on this in the future. Mahalo Captain Max and crew! We had such a great time on our Turtle Canyon adventure. The smaller boat ride was awesome and Captain Camille and 1st Mate Libby were so much fun! They promised turtles and we saw turtles everywhere. This was so much better than a group of 20 or 30 people. Libby was awesome in the water with our group and even took pictures for us. She did offer a Go-Pro package and as a hind site it would have been worth it. Captain Camille finished the trip with a couple blows on a Conch shell. This was easily a favorite adventure of our week in Hawaii! Just to be clear…the yellow catamaran in the picture is NOT the boat Captain Max’s adventure uses.
