The Budd Lake Diner is a good, traditional diner with a wide variety of selections. I ordered the Chicken Balsamico off the specials menu, which was topped with cherry tomatoes, red onions, arugula, and a special sauce. It tasted very good. The meal also came with delicious chicken soup. I was impressed that they were very generous with the amount of chicken in the soup, as many diners barely include any chicken. The prices were also reasonable, the staff was friendly, and there was a pleasant atmosphere overall. I’d definitely recommend the Budd Lake Diner.

Decent Diner & Prices New Owners, New Menu & some new Waitresses - August 2022 I was excited to try this diner out again since I heard they recently had new owners and was pleasantly surprised compared to previous visits. Waitress today was also new and although she is still learning the menu she was very nice & pleasant. Diner looks the same on the inside but a lot of new staff and the menu is completely new. Tried a burger today and the cook did a good job! Medium well just like I asked for and it tasted pretty good too. My friend had a wrap with grilled chicken and that was also pretty good. I’ll be happy to go again another time.

I do love regional diners! You never know what variation on the theme you'll get and we were happy to find this gem in Jersey!

Yo bro! My overall experience at this diner was good. The food was good. The portions were generous. But My server (the old woman with the band-aid on her face) was not friendly to Me nor My friend. I would still go back there 😎👌🏾

My friend and I have enjoyed the Budd Lake Diner for many years. We just stopped in this evening for Dinner on our way from Pennsylvania to New York City and understand that the Diner is under new management. The food was excellent. The menu is very extensive and leaves for a wonderful selection of food to choose from. The staff was very hospitable, friendly and provided excellent service. The Manager was very nice and I could hear him address many customers with a superior level of service. I hope that the Budd Lake Diner strives for many years and would certainly reccomend it to anyone. I will plan on stopping in again very soon.

Staff are excellent and clearly enjoy their time, making it an inviting and fun atmosphere. We got the Mexican omelette and chicken avocado panini which were tasty. Kids would do well - as at any diner.

On November 11, 2023 at about 12:30 P.M., I visited Budd Lake Diner, in Budd Lake, New Jersey. There is a mid-sized parking lot available outside the diner. The cost of my meal was about $26 dollars. I walked in and I was greeted by the cashier, who took me to a booth for 2 people. The diner was small but still clean and there was enough spacing between the seats. The diner had an old-school and vintage ambiance, which I appreciate because for someone younger like myself it feels like I get to experience going back in time and enjoying what my parents enjoyed. The wait time for both the food and seating was not long, it was very quick and the food came out within about 10 minutes of ordering. My server started me off with drinks and I ordered a raspberry iced tea. The menu featured almost any kind of comfort food you could imagine, like pasta, all day breakfast, wraps, burgers, salads, etc. I ordered jalapeño poppers, and a margarita flatbread which came with a Caesar salad side. Both the appetizer and the flatbread exceeded my expectations. There is something available for everyone at Budd Lake Diner, such as for vegetarians like myself, as they have an extensive menu. This diner does accept credit cards but I am not sure if it accepts cash, but I would assume so because there is an ATM machine available. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to stop by!

Stumbled across this diner while driving back to the city from the Delaware Water Gap. Good value for the price- I walked away being extremely full and maybe slightly in a food coma. Great service- our waitress was really nice. I ordered the shrimp and scallops. Tried the creamed cauliflower which was heavy but worth it. My friend got the tuna melt. They do have free wifi here!

Apparently I need to remind them of the absolute rancid meal I was served. And the fact u want to charge me 3 dollars when I didn't get to eat my original meal and I have to drive back out there to get the refund. I was going to give it a chance and get a burger but they really wanted to charge me the 3 dollars difference. Yup that's what I was given for dinner.

Service was outstanding. Everyone was so upbeat and welcoming. Food was great. We started with a cup of chicken noodle soup. Hit the spot on this chilly Fall Halloween night. The Cheeseburger sliders were so fresh and tasty. Would definitely order them again. Highly recommend the Budd Lake Diner.

This place has gone down hill since the new owners took over. It has a very limited menu, no more corn beef & cabbage. The items that made this dinner great to eat sadly they are no more. The staff are not that friendly & a lit of times the order comes out wrong. The plates of food are not dressed properly. A hamburger just comes out a hamber on a bun, NO lettuce, no tomato, no pickles & no cold slaw. All these items are supposed to be on the hamburgers. Would definitely not go back here again. Go to Randolph Dinner instead . Food is better & a nicer wait staff.

Was seated at a table that was too small for 4 people. Coffee was okay, not great. Order was as follows: Open turkey sandwich, French toast with sausage, a specialty crepe with cheesecake filling and strawberries and pigs in a blanket. All food was decent and good portions although pancakes were a little heavy and doughie.

Came here after running some errands and was happy to hear that they serve breakfast all day. We ended up having a smorgasbord of food - mozzarella sticks, stuffed mushrooms, Mr pig omelet, and the avocado toast. We also had coffee, iced lattes, and cappuccinos. Everything was good, no complaints but the Mr pig omelet probably could have been better without the cheese - I didn't realize cheese came in it. Portions were huge and prices were cheap!

I have been coming here for over 30 years. Food is the best. Always hot and the wait staff is awesome. One of the best diners in New Jersey

Food was very good, our server Tyler was awesome. The only problem was the wait. Their were 5 of us and instead of just adding a chair to a four top they say several parties of 4 ahead of us. I had to suggest adding a chair.

Had breakfast there with my wife a couple of weeks ago my eggs were burnt and home fries dry like cardboard. I thought I would give it another chance. My wife was away for weekend. So I decided to go have a burger. I ordered a cheeseburger and Manhattan clam chowder. The soup was greasy watery with no taste. Like they kept it for weeks and added water to it. My burger tasted like it was precooked. Gross. On top of that they charged me additional fee of slice of onion .52 cents slice of tomato $1.29 and lettuce $1.03 for my burger. Never going back.

Great food at a great price ! Grab a quick solo bite, or come with a party of 12, makes no difference. Fast, knowledgeable Staff, good ambiance. Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible.

Last minute party of 12 and we were accommodated very nicely! Susan was very attentive and sweet (and it was even her birthday!) and the food was awesome too! Perfect way to end the morning after our kids' Championship Football game WIN!!! (We own a family-run deli & were very impressed!) Thank you so much!!

We went for breakfast. Wait staff was incredibly good, attentive, and helpful. Drinks??? Phenomenal, would go just for their coffees/desert drinks Half the tables food was ok level, half was good. Paired with the drinks, average of 4. Busy, a little slow from the kitchen, but multiple stops from wait staff to check in. Would be a little tight for wheelchairs.

I have been going here regularly for the past year and am beyond satisfied every time I go. The food is fresh, tasty, and well prepared. The owners are extremely inviting and are creating a wonderful atmosphere. The florentine omelette is a staple for me, always delicious. The burgers are delicious and the specialty salads and soups never disappoint. Great place, and I look forward to every time I stop by.

My wife and I went here for a late breakfast. We were attended to straight away, our server was very pleasant and courteous and the food was delicious! I can see why this Diner is considered one of the best in the state! Keep up the great work!

Morris county is home to some of the best diners in NJ, including, but not limited to, the Jefferson diner (which appeared on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives), the Hibernia diner, the Morristown Diner, the Randolph diner, the Roxbury diner, the Whippany diner, and Paul’s family diner. My personal favorite is the Budd Lake diner. It’s full of old school charm and the new owners, who happen to be my neighbors down the block from where I live, have got it running better than ever. I’ve had just about everything under the sun at this place from breakfast skillets, to burgers, to pasta, and even a really well executed cowboy steak with crab stuffed mushrooms. The food here is excellent and the hospitality is even better. I really recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bite to eat in the Hackettstown-Mount Olive area.

I try never to give anyone a low rating if I can help it, but this was not the experience we were expecting. Our server was not attentive at all and was clearly not busy because the place was almost completely empty and there was plenty of staff around. She would disappear for 20-30 minutes at the time. I had to get up and go ask for refills on drinks from another staff person. My friend had French onion soup which she said was good. Not great, but was perfectly acceptable. I ordered the meat loaf dinner and was shocked when she put down a plate with 5 thin slices of very dry meatloaf that had minimal seasoning and nothing else added. It was very bland. The mashed potatoes were pretty good (no seasoning) with gravy. My Brussells sprouts were probably frozen and had been boiled in water, again without seasoning. It was an extremely bland meal, so we were disappointed. I won't be going back.

All three of us had a good meal. The staff was friendly. We would eat there again. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is nothing really jumped out as fantastic, however like I said, the food was good, place was clean and we all enjoyed our meal. You won't regret eating there.

Just came here for the first time for a nice dinner with my mom. They had amazing food, no wait time, amazing staff, good prices. Rebecca was our waitress and she was very kind and patient with us and other costumers. They are very welcoming and if your in the area looking for a place to eat I’d 100% recommend stopping here.

We needed a place to grab a bite before heading back home after visiting the corn maze of Stony Hills Farm. After browsing Google for a while we notice most of the places would close at 10 and then we found Budd Lake Dinner. Tyler was our waiter. He was very attentive even though it was the late night. Our food came out promptly and well paced. Food quality was great and tasty. As expected of a dinner the menu has lot of choices. I totally recommend it and if I ever get back to the area I will definitely be back.
