For the Emergency Department. When the sense of urgency has left the bodies and minds of the staff on the floor receiving patients, you lose the trust of the public. I saw and everybody else saw an elderly woman in a wheel chair sitting outside (waiting on somebody I am assuming) for well over 2 hours at night. The staff brought the same elderly woman a blanket. Good job. As for the rest of the individuals in the department suffering, they seem to have been forgotten about. It seems as if you have non nursing staff taking what appears to be vitals so that’s good. Do they get reported or added to charts or is it just for peace at mind for those waiting attention. The system for seeing incoming patients and monitoring status seems to be flawed. There’s a pregnant woman inside with cramps and abdominal pain whose forced to sit alone to wonder if something’s wrong. Maybe try to have physician intervention right away to ensure the professionals working here have a chance to triage appropriately. Who knows, you might accidentally save some time and effort if you took a little more care in “patient care”.

My family has been going to cape fear "hospital" for about 25-30 years and I can say in full confidence that this is one of the worst hospitals in our entire state, and I would venture to bet that ANY good reviews are about this "hospital" are from people who either had no other choice or from people who have ONLY been to cape fear. Having to go to the hospital is already stressful, but add in the poor bedside manner, absolutely unforgivable wait times and the likely possibility that they will mess something up and endanger you makes this "hospital" a no go for my friends and family. Do you care about you or your loved ones? DO NOT go to cape fear hospital, if I could give it zero stars I would. First, if you go into that waiting room be ready to clear the rest of your day for sitting because will most likely end up waiting for about 4-6 hours before they decide to put you in a room. Then you have to be careful about what treatments they prescribe to you because they get paid to put you on one treatment or another, putting profit over what's best for the patient. The staff is a 50/50, sometimes they are kind and knowledgeable, others times they are rude and it feels as though they just hired the people who draw the blood while you have to watch them stab you multiple times to find a vein. They messed up the epidural for my pregnant wife and even though 5 years have passed, it still gives her a lot pain. I once took a friend there for their panic attack and they ended up getting scarlet fever from the waiting room. They have mistakenly given my grandmother the wrong medicine before and almost put her into a coma. If you have a medical emergency go to Hoke or Duke both have been absolutely amazing in comparison. DO NOT GO TO CAPE FEAR "HOSPITAL"

I was rushed to ER on August 20 at around 930pm for trauma after being dragged and pinned under a van. The paramedics that treated me were great but after I got to the trauma center the entire staff was very unprofessional and immature. The 2 guys that took me to have a CT scan was having a conversation with the guy performing the scan about some girl or maybe some nurse or nurses how hot they were and etc. They took me back to the trauma center where I waited for a long time to review my CT scan then they released me after a poor attempt of dressing my severe cuts and abrasions. I didn’t clean them or use any type of antibiotic ointment. I’m still dripping blood and the nurse added bandages on top of the embedded gravel and dirt still in my wounds. The dressings for my wounds were amateur and I could’ve done a better job doing it myself in my condition. The entire experience I had at this hospital aside from the paramedics was the WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD AT A HOSPITAL. The entire staff in the trauma center that night should be ashamed of themselves and need to take their job more seriously. All we’re nothing more than kids and need to grow up. Unless you plan on dying I suggest you go to another hospital. Cape Fear Sucks!!!!

100% agree with ZERO stars. This hospital is a JOKE, an EMBARASSMENT to the health care field. I have 50+ pages of notes on how my mother was cared for in this place. NO accountability at all. There are very few "Heroes" working here. I guess all the good ones left and went to better hospitals. I will never bring any one of my family members back here. Didn't want my mother here but was told by the EMS team (a Cape Fear Valley ambulance) that they could not take her where I had requested she go. It was all downhill from there. I believe they just wanted my mother to die in there. I do not believe all the good reviews this place received. I believe they had staff people write them. Update since they wrote their "standard" response: They DO NOT really care about the bad reviews they receive. Otherwise, there would be REAL changes at this place. I made multiple complaints during my mother's 3 WEEK stay and NOTHING was done to make REAL & PERMANENT change. This hospital should be sued for negligence.

I was taken to Cape Fear by ambulance because I was having a medical emergency. My gallbladder was shot. I was triaged right away and then left sitting in the waiting room for 12 hours. They wouldn't allow any visitors so my husband had followed the ambulance to the hospital and was stuck outside for 12 hours. I could barely walk but if I needed help or had to use the bathroom I wobbled myself there. After 12 hours of not being seen I left. My husband took me to wake med where they took one look at me and got me taken care of my surgery is tomorrow but for now I'm resting comfortably. What's even worse is there were people in the waiting room with chest pain. There was one guy who had to scream help because he felt like he was gonna pass out. Don't Go Here!!! I get everywhere is understaffed and worked to their limits but this was absolutely unacceptable. Do better Cape Fear or close your doors.

I sat in the emergency room with pain in the chest and a faint heart beat for over 20 minutes. I was Covid positive. Every person that worked there was rude and ghetto with the inability to even use proper English. All they were worried about was the fact that I was taking my mask off to take full breaths. I requested oxygen assistance at least 2 times. My lips were blue and my limbs were tingling. They never saw me. I left after 30 minutes. This is the absolute worst emergency room I have ever experienced. This place has Malpractice and negligence written ALL OVER IT!!! Do not trust them! I just know they are drowning in lawsuits.

For Hoke Hospital Emergency Room: One month ago today, my wife and I came in with our 13 day newborn. We informed the staff that she was throwing up brownish blood, and also her stool was black. We were told to sit down and we waited roughly 2 hours in the waiting room. During that time our daughter turned cold and pale. After being skipped an unknown number of times my wife got up and asked the nurse at the desk why we were still waiting after 2 hours waiting, she moved us to the back finally where we waited another 30 minutes. While waiting our daughter, Kamíla, was given a rectal thermometer. We were unsure if the thermometer was cleaned and sanitized, the nurse was also unsure how to operate the thermometer. After her temperature check, the nurse proclaimed that it wasn’t right, also the rectal thermometer had blood from her rectal. We waited for a room to be cleaned, the room was never cleaned and instead we were given a room where that was not sanitized as well. Once we were put in a room a group of nurses came in to help but they never had the right needle size for her. She was stuck with roughly 6 different needles and also bone drilled twice to get an IV. In total we waited roughly 2 hrs to 2 hrs and 30 minutes. My daughter passed away later that night after being airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. My daughter was only 13 days old.

Worst Emergency room visit ever. Before you read any further, note… the nurses and triage staff were phenomenal. After arriving at this ER from a silent stroke, I waited over 4.5 hours to get into a room. Then after my vitals were checked, they forgot about me. Then I waited another 2.5+ to get into an actual room where my husband was able to accompany me. Only to get blood and X-ray results. Then to be left again for another hour or so. Absolute waste of my time.

The front desk staff is very rude. People that come in are looking for loved ones. For family or friends that are sick or injured. They should be patient and helpful. Instead, it's as if they try to find any excuse to keep you out or give you a hard time. The desk clerks should be replaced if they cannot handle the emotion and stress visitors are coming in with.

First the nurse staff on floor 7 were amazing. Anything after that is awful. Just awful. Mainly the staff at the front door. Deb or Deborah of the night shift and the security team Monday night between 8am-8pm are the worst workers I have ever seen. First they told me how this job is just a paycheck and they do not care above coming in here and getting a check. You are the face of a hospital. This is not a place to have just another paycheck attitude. Also they swear their policies are because they are trying to keep people safe but I walked up on them sitting around gossiping with their back turned to the door. How do you protect anything not paying attention. Also they each have attitudes and are little power hungry. If someone is asking questions why is it so hard to answer them without being rude. I asked for the phone number to a supervisor. They said the CEO or the president. As if you speak to the CEO each day you come in here. They knew exactly what I meant. Just rude. That section alone is exactly why you are losing patients and they rather drive a hour. Cause the costumer service is extremely lacking. A woman had family who was dying and they would not let her up. The security guard said it could be reasons why. Well you didn't think to tell her. Let her know if it's that serious of a situation. Please just get rid of the night crew that doesn't care about this job.

I will never return to this hospital for any treatment. After watching a lady pass out in the waiting area and none of the staff coming to her aid I decided that my 4 hour wait had come to an end. After calling the patient to the back several times I decided to ask them if they had checked her wrist band. Which they hadn’t. At least 20 min passed before anyone came to see about this person. Another patient was asked to sit up in the chairs because policy is that you can’t lay down. These people have been there for hours and you want to make them more uncomfortable with your policies. This hospital needs to be shut down! There’s lack of communication and compassion!

I recently spent 8 days at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and can honestly say I received the best care I could have ever imagined. From the time I arrived in the ED until my discharge, every employee I encountered was courteous, compassionate, helpful and seemed truly concerned about my needs. My doctors made sure I understood every aspect of my condition and the protocols they were following, my nurses were competent and attentive, the aides were caring and kind, the techs made sure I understood each procedure and what to expect, and the supporting services staff members [food & nutrition, transportation, EVS] were pleasant and efficient in their roles. I am grateful I was able to receive such excellent care at my local hospital!

Cape fear valley hospital Is a JOKE. I don’t recommend this hospital to anyone. The nurses at the front of ED is rude. I waited 4-5hrs in the waiting room with severe food poisoning and I absolutely could not take sitting in a wheelchair in constant pain because of the vomiting and nausea. I was severely dehydrated and asked the nurse how long would I have to continue to wait. I also asked one of the nurses if I could have a cup of water, and I never received it. After a while of not being seen, I ended up leaving and was told I couldn’t sit inside to wait on my ride. They told me I had to stand outside while it was cold and raining. I went to Hoke instead and got treated way better and quicker.

I’d like to share my experience particularly with the front desk staff. One lady that had curly hair and whose birthday was this month. I know this information because she raised her voice at me when I interrupted her socializing while she was actively looking my uncles information she proceeded to raise her voice at me and exclaimed rudely “I don’t know”. Even after my mom went all week she claimed my uncle was no where in the system. Mind you, I was translating for my mom and relaying information to help this woman at the desk input this information. After we gave full name, address, our name’s, she made a call to the upstairs and didn’t repeat the information back to us. So, when I said sorry, what is the room number she proceeded to basically yell at me. This was poor customer service and basically had to wait for her to finishing socializing so I could clarify the information. Please, rectify so it does not happen again. Either better training to find people in the system or at the least better customer service considering she was our first point of contact entering the building. My mom has lived in Fayetteville since 2008 around the corner from Cape Fear and I have a cousin that worked here many years. I was shocked to receive such poor treatment and considering I was doing translating and just helping my mom go see my uncle who just got out of a major heart surgery. We were poorly received and made for an unpleasant experience.

If there were a differant hospital in this area, I would gladly go. No wonder good doctor's leave! These people is short staff and over worked. My husband did not receive proper care at all. He was tied to his bed like a dog and laid in his poop n pee for hours until i came to visit , which it was not my job to feed him and bath him, so i checked him out where i do all those things at home.. Food served was cold and the nurse had no good team. Most was rude and lack educational medical training. Doctors was a joke.

This hospital saved my husbands life and treated us so well during his long stay. Fast forward a year. I was having trouble breathing and felt terrible weak. My oncologist advised me to go to the nearest ER. I arrived at CFV ER and was taken in right away. However, the resident that treated me told me up front that if I was there for pain pills, it wasn’t happening. My blood pressure was highly elevated, and I was struggling for breath. He had the nurse close the curtain to my bed and told her to check me every half hour. Two hours later, he told the attending outside my door that my bed was needed for an elderly man and that there was no reason to keep me there. I was discharged being told there was nothing wrong with me and that I needed to calm down and go home. I was not given any tests and found out two days later that I had COVID-19. Attached is a photo showing my blood pressure right before discharge. 150/125 that was the lowest reading during my visit. I have never been treated so poorly. Being a cancer patient, I should have been checked more thoroughly. I understand that I was treated on an emergency basis only, but feel that my condition was ignored and that the resident’s only concern was that I was there to get pain medication, which was not the case at all. I was in medical need.

if you can choose DO NOT GO HERE!!! If I could give this place a -5 star review I would, these people take absolutely forever to see patients! And kick the visitors out on the curb to wait and don’t even have benches outside for people to sit on. Have 0 parking, for employees and visitors and is beyond confusing when it comes to finding certain services. I’ve been waiting over 10 hours someone to check my father in law out! This is absolutely ridiculous!! This hospital is a waste of space and money!!! If they don’t help patients why are they even open!?!

Drove almost an hour and a half to see my sister-in-law in labor and delivery. We were told that she had the maximum number of people in her room. That was fine, we didn't want to be in there while she was in labor, so we asked where the waiting room was. We were told there was nowhere to wait, that we could not get passes. Who doesn't have a waiting area for family? This hospital who needs to build one. The dad could not even be in the triage area for hours today before she was admitted, so she was there by herself being monitored. Other hospitals allow people back at triage and there are waiting areas. If having a baby, go somewhere else.

Very unfriendly and not family oriented hospital. Was at the hospital to take part in my soon to be granddaughter's birth. Due to their error, they entered four names instead of three as visitors in the computer. I went downstairs to get food while waiting for my daughter in law to give birth and I was stopped before I could go back upstairs to update my name tag. I was then told that I could not go back upstairs because they allowed one extra person by mistake. So me as the grandparent was not allowed to be a part of my granddaughter's birth. I even told them that I would just sit in the labor and delivery waiting room and was not allowed. A time that should be shared with immediate family was ruined and I awaited my granddaughter's birth sitting in the lobby on the first floor of the hospital instead of being with my son and daughter in law. So thank you Cape Fear Valley for taking away the experience I may never have again from me. By far the rudest hospital I have ever been in. Thankfully there are other options in the area to go to that are more family and patient centered. I will make sure that every person I come across knows how people are treated at this hospital and will highly encourage them to seek a facility elsewhere.

This hospital needs to be shut down!!! They are more concerned about infrastructure instead of saving lives. They diagnosed one of my family members telling her one of their organs was damaged and may need transplant and within a week they tell her she does need to see a specialist she can go home. I don’t think so! The service is subpar and they need to gut the entire premises. One of my coworkers daughter was offered to do her intern there and refused because she said the hospital was nasty and opted to travel 2 hours to avoid working there. Avoid this hospital and drive to Chapel Hill or Duke, the life you save may be your own!!😡😡

I was somewhat skeptical about having a major procedure at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. Due to the urgency, I decided to allow the Cape Fear Heart & Vascular Center team to take care of me. I was amazed by the technical expertise of the doctors and nursing staff. I was never treated just like “another patient”. They went over and beyond to ensure that I was successful through the procedure and the recovery process. Their kindness not only extended to me but included my wife. I am 100% comfortable in recommending such an outstanding hospital. Thanks to the entire Cape Fear Heart & Vascular Center.

My experience! 20 years Paramedic/Firefighter. Brought here from the VA for shortness of breath by Cape Fear EMS. The crew was excellent! However, I ended up leaving AMA due to what I would call, negligence on following Medically PROVEN SOP! Had a an EKG, chest xray, and well, an hour and a half later the RN Millie who was there for at least an hour never acknowledged me unless I asked for my wife to come back who is an RN, 16 of which is a level 1 trauma facility in NY as well as being the Charge nurse! Nurse Millie is the WORST example of an RN! She lacks compassion, empathy and her bedside manner 0%! As I told her she missed the class on bedside manner her response was nothing short of UNPROFESSIONAL! The Fayetteville Police Officer just sitting there on his phone and checking out the female staff, looked over to me when I told Ms. Millie who her customer service skills were lacking. The police officer kept staring at me during this time and I asked him if he had something to say to me. He bowed up in his chair and asked if I had something to say to him! I immediately told the nurse to take the tourniquet of that I was leaving AMA! As a retired medical professional, this facility is the worst example I have ever had the displeasure of entering in my 60 years.

Three transport workers are Outside laughing and taking pictures of each other. I’ve been waiting to pick up my wife with my six month old and two year old for almost 2 hours. The nurse couldn’t find any transport people to help Wheel my lady downstairs so we can go home because they are all hiding. They were all wearing lanyard name tags but I was too far away to get their name. Also the doctor was supposed to do the departure paperwork before he/she went on lunch and it never got finished. I have had nothing but terrible experiences at this hospital with the exception of labor and delivery. Both my kids were birthed at this hospital and labor and delivery is great.

I waited to give a review, wanted to take some time to process my experience. I came in October 17 with my 34 week pregnant daughter..she came in as a trauma, so to say I was full of anxiety is too say the least, however the er doctors were Great, they saved there life. The nicu was phenomenal and I am happy to report mom and baby are home and well. Thanks Cape Fear for your love and expertise shown to myself and family! I can't forget 3rd floor as well as labor and delivery!

Nikita was rude no addressing who she was spoke to me like I was her enemy all because i did not know I was unable to leave my floor I was trying to meet the dad to help let him enter. The staff on my floor one particular person after being discharged by one day I asked her for a pad because I had used the restroom and forgot to bring an extra one with me. Said I was lucky she was there because if was anyone else they wouldn’t of done it. The cafeteria aren’t allowed to families in need of food for a person staying with one if they did have an extra plate they would just throw it away rather than give it to someone in need. This hospital needs helps with patients and patience I’ve never experienced anything so horrific at such a high amount of happiness i was experiencing there were like three nurse from my floor to the nicu that were just amazing at their work I pray and hope I never have to be seen here ever again under staff such as this.

I was rushed by ambulance to this hospital with a ruptured Appendix, I waited for 9 hrs in the most pain I ever felt. Ultimately it made my condition worse. After surgery the next day, I left this place. Hoping to find a better hospital close by, but all these hospitals have to same bad reviews. my best bet is to drive back home to Pa and enter my local hospital before I become get sepsis... I almost died in there hallway, screaming in pain! For 9 hrs..... If an attorney reads this, feel free to contact me......

I had a c section here in Nov of 2022. It was a great experience from start to finish. I was impressed with the nursing staff and the doctors taking care of me. My one complaint is that the food was awful. The level of care from the doctors and nurses was definitely worth 5 stars. There was an anesthesiology nurse that was with me in the OR named Karen (I think) who was absolutely amazing and helped me so much during my time in the OR. I wish she knew how much she positively impacted my experience there. I was absolutely pleasantly surprised by how great of an experience it was having my baby here.

This review is specifically about my experience of the ICU unit staff: I was there for multiple days while a relative died from a brain bleed. It was a very emotionally challenging experience for all of us, (the whole family was present), as this person died way too young for very sad reasons. It was so painful to witness a loved in such a lifeless state in such a visceral way. That said, the ICU staff was INCREDIBLE. They were all super supportive; empathetic, understanding, knowledgeable, honest, and just really cared in a way that made a really tragic moment have a sparkle of hope. I really cannot thank the staff enough from the bottom of my heart. I spent a lot of time with the nurses, in particular, and all I can say is that they are angels on earth. So was the wonderful woman who came into say a prayer in our loved one’s last moments: everyone we engaged with in the ICU was so emotionally intelligent and true experts in their field, in a way that felt extremely comforting and was very appreciated during such a difficult moment. Thank you ❤️

If I could put zero stars I would. This is by far the worst place ever. The nurses literally will walk by if you’re vomiting, they been communicating with their eyes rolling their eyes back and forth. The doctor I seen in the emergency room made a joke about me trying to get out of work since I had just come back from out the country. They do not have enough ppl to help in the emergency room. I asked for pain meds for my head and didn’t get anything. This is completely ridiculous and enough to report to the health department.

I was treated in the emergency room at CFVH on 4 December 2021, with COVID 19. I was later admitted to the 3rd, floor South wing to room 302 where I spent 16 days. It the worst I had ever been in my life. I received the best treatment ever from all the members of the nursing staff, the respiratory staff, housekeeping, the lab radiology and let's not forget food service staff especially Miss Lucy. I was treated by several doctors during my stay but the one that stands out the most was Dr. Brennan, he was a GOD send ❤️😊. I know CFVH has a reputation for being the worst hospital but that was not my experience. I just want to say THANK YOU Deborah S. F

What a terrible nightmare we had today at Cape Fear Valley Main Campus. Now we understand why there is such a bad reputation and low reviews which makes many people prefer to drive to other Hospitals 🏥 regardless of the distance. The treatment received today at Cape Fear Valley 6th Floor South shift from 7:00-3:00pm was the WORST experience ever to the extreme that we had to request a Voluntary Discharge for my family member, no empathy whatsoever. The treatment received by both the nurses and the Doctor during the shift was inhumane and degrading. 2 of the Nurses came to the Room screaming at us with a very aggressive attitude after we requested the discharge. Looks like they doesn’t deal with hispanics people during that shift. They were so miserable and pitiful that they didn't even gave us a way to transport our patient. Never visit this hospital!

I had my baby girl 2 weeks ago and my time at this hospital was the best experience and everything I could’ve hoped for with my labor and birth experience. I have been in and out of hospitals since I was a small child and had developed a fear of them. This place has really helped with that. From the moment I realized I might be in labor I was able to call the triage department to get advice. The nurse David was super helpful with everything on the phone and once we got there, made me feel calm and helped me get into positions that helped with contractions. Once I was admitted my anxiety hit an all time high and I started to panic but the nurse Chris helped me through it all. She was there to help me through the epidural once the pain became too much to endure as well as move me into positions to help with comfort. Nearing the end of labor, Renee and Sydney took over and I can’t thank them enough for their help during the pushing process. They helped with every little thing and got me whatever I needed as soon as I needed it. They also did their best to help keep me calm and relaxed by just talking about everything with me. After my baby was out, they helped to get me cleaned up as well as brought me water and juice as I had started to feel very dehydrated and sick. They helped with pictures as well and I couldn’t be happier with the way everything went. We stayed in the delivery room for a couple hours after birth before going over to the postpartum section and everything just went smoothly. All of the postpartum nurses that attended to me and my baby were great with getting me the items needed for hygiene as well as helping me feed my little girl. In all, it was a great experience and I couldn’t ask for a better team of people. The only thing I would say could be worked on is the visitor policy for the postpartum section. We were told we could have 2 visitors during the visiting hours but when our visitors came, they were told they weren’t allowed to come visit unless my partner left the room because him and I counted as the 2 visitors.

I would give zero stars if possible. I was given a gummy which I thought was just a hemp gummy but turned out to be a 350 mg synthetics gummy. I have both a heart and neurologic condition. I was having a severe reaction to the gummy I was in and out of consciousness, my heart rate was extremely high. I was having trouble breathing and processing simple thoughts and speech along with other debilitating symptoms. I went in by ambulance after I became unconscious and unresponsive triage at the Ed immediately looked at me took my vitals and urine. They told me that the gummy I had eaten had a 12 hour period before it would begin to wear off. They also told me that it was extremely important for me to stay very hydrated t help come out of it sooner. They then told me someone would see me soon and sent me in the ER. I then continue to sit in that ER for over 12 hours. I was sitting in a wheelchair trying not to fall out of it. I was extremely dizzy, confused nauseous and dehydrated I was in and out of consciousness. I had asked several nurses if they could at least give me some water as the doctor had told me I need to stay hydrated and they refused to give me any water or food at all. After 12 hours, I was eventually taken to the back to a room where I was still not given any water, or anything. A doctor came in and looked didn’t rerun any vitals told me I had a UTI, but did not prescribe me anything for it or refer me anywhere and said that I was fine to go. They then discharged me when I left, I was still extremely dizzy and barely capable of walking. I was sat right in front of the ED intake desk where I heard nurses laughing and talking about and mocking patients that were in there. There was an I presume homeless due to the bags full of shoes, clothes, and food he had with him man crawling around on the floor rolling around in a sandwich. Several patients were debilitated in wheelchairs. The nurses would call their names, and the people were either unable to respond and unable to will themselves around some raise their hand and said over here they were then ignored when they did not immediately appear in front of the nurses, calling their names and skipped over. I heard the nurses at the ED desk, have several arguments with patients, wanting to know when they would be seen. One woman was hysterical because she was peeing and leaking blood from her urethra saying that she had been sitting there, waiting for even longer than I had . They basically yelled at her telling her to sit down and shut up or they would have her thrown out. this place was completely lacking in compassion and the ability to give the minimum standard of care to anyone. I think you would just be better off dying in a ditch at least there he won’t be screamed at mocked harassed and belittled by nursing staff.

i heard horrible stories about Cape fear. DO NOT Listen to them! the doctors and the nurses once you’re admitted, are kind and respectful I was in there for 14 days in January 2023 for an appendicitis which I almost died from, BUT they saved me! I LOVED MY RNs just beautiful people my doctor was amazing. My anesthesiologist was so kind and gentle. To the Nurse in the ER that took my CT scan I am so grateful to all of them! The food was amazing too! And the aftercare! they had nurses come to my house to make sure I was OK! like I’ve never had that done before with any hospital!! NOW for the ER Waiting room,, they need to work on that more. The nurses in the front are a little rude i feel they need to take it a little more Serious when somebody comes in and says they feel like they’re dying from stomach pain Or in general, nobody knows our bodies more than us. I will definitely go back for any emergencies or health problems. They are a really good team once you get past the ER registry. absolutely amazing! I was kind of sad to leave the staff but very happy at the same time i missed my bed and family.

Shame Shame Shame on your establishment. I went today to have some X-rays. I'm not from here so was not familiar with how your parking was set up. I was directed by a nurse who was walking outside to go around the front of the building to the parking garage. I parked and went inside to have my procedure done. The nurses and staff were nice enough, but as I was leaving I was informed I would have to pay leaving the garage, if I had been there more than an hour. That is the first time I've ever gone to a hospital to have a procedure done and had to pay for parking on my way out. That wasn't the worst part though, as I was leaving the line was backed up with cars. I found out your garage has no attendant and does not take cash. There was a elderly man stuck with no card on him to pay to get out, that is why the cars were so backed up. A gentleman behind him got out of his car to help him and had to use his card to get the man through the gate. The elderly man was embarrassed and offered the gentleman money. If that is how you treat patients and visitors to your building I will not be back to have anything done.

I was in Cape Fear Hospital Emergency for a serious injury. All employees involved were good people but the Nurse Morgan Needham I think is her last name was super great. She’s a person born to be a Nurse helping people. She helped me deal with some horrible possibilities. Thankfully it turned out to not be that serious. Melissa the night Nurse was good too. Patient transport especially Michael Ray was great. The MRI Techs , thank goodness for their care and understanding. The Nurse on the 7th. Floor were super nice. Especially Michael. This was a terrible experience, I had fell , hit my head on a car tire rim and they thought I had broken my neck. So it was scary being in that neck brace to begin with , having to get a MRI wearing one and just going through it period. These people especially Morgan sure helped make it easier and helped me feel I would be taken care of. Again Thank everyone for the prayers and God for protecting me. Dr. Brown was awesome too. She was there in case the MRI showed my neck was broken, they were ready to do surgery. Again her ability to help me understand what was happening, why and what might happen. Her professionalism made it easier to somewhat relax. Thanks to everyone who helped me. Morgan brought me some food after they saw I wouldn’t need surgery too. Thank You !!! B. Sims

The worst. Came as transfer and told them I needed FMLA paperwork filled out for my work since I had been hospitalized for almost a week and missing work. They refused to fill out my paperwork for no reason and then I got corrective action from my job. Not to mention my heart rate was high after surgery and the nurse was concerned and said she was going to talk to my provider….. never came back. Next nurse on shift said the same thing about my heart rate but no one was telling me what was going on. Never want to go back here.

This hospital needs to be improved significantly. Inconvenient and frustrating is the wait if you are actually unwell. My cousin, who has diabetes, was having an episode and kept throwing up, so we left after an hour and brought him somewhere else. It was necessary to take my fiance to the hospital right away today, and I dropped him in at 1pm. It is now 8pm. The doctors said that all of the rooms are full. A second hospital is required in Cumberland County. It's not safe not having anywhere to go in case of an emergency.

Our unexpected visit to the Pediatric Emergency Department and subsequent admission to the Pediatric inpatient unit was smooth, efficient, and comforting. The team treated both our daughter and us (my husband and I) with the upmost respect. The nurses were engaged, knowledgeable, and friendly. The physicians took our daughter’s condition seriously and acted swiftly. The attending Pediatric physician, Dr. Smith, was so kind. I loved the inclusion of the resident physicians as part of the care team, because it provides multiple physician perspectives on the best care plan. Thank you to the Pediatric Emergency Dept team and Pediatric inpatient team, the doctors, the nurses, EVS staff, the Food and Nutrition team for your extraordinary care. Keep up the great work!

ER nurse put us in a room covered in blood. Rest of night ER staff was nice but trying to call and get information and xrays the folllwing day has been nothing but a nightmare. I've never been spoken too so badly by so many people in a single day in my life. I can't believe how horrible this experience has been and continues to be.

When I tell you this is one of the best hospital I have ever been to! I was transferred to this hospital from the cape fear valley in Hoke county which was terrible! From the time I arrived each nurse and doctors were friendly, informative also , to make sure I understood everything that was going to take place! I was so nervous about the surgery I had to have but they put my mind at ease! They made me feel like family from the beginning! You can truly tell that the nurses care about their patients! They constantly check on you to make sure you're comfortable at all times! The hospital was very clean an sanitized! I would like to thank my Doctor Augustina Addison, she is top tier and a Blessing to health care! I pray great health to everyone but if you have to go to the hospital for whatever reason, Cape Fear Valley on Owen Drive is the best. Thank you again to each and every one of my Nurses and Doctors y'all are truly appreciated! 1 Love to all💜🙏🏽💜

I have not heard anything good about this hospital, and, my husband had a terrible experience here. Last Monday, I went to Hoke ER for sudden onset severe abdominal pain and vomiting. Service was a little slow, however they placed an IV for fluids and treated my pain. Then I was sent to CT; it ended up being appendicitis, and I was to be transferred to the main campus for surgery. I was hesitant because of the hospital's reputation. My nurse said that she would have surgery there, so okay. Went in at 9pm, transferred at 5 am. Ambulance staff brought me in to the ER, got me transferred to a cot in the hallway. Where I remained for about 5 minutes. They kept my pain under control and surgery went fine. My 5 star rating goes to the staff; from the front desk @Hoke Hospital to my discharge from Cape Fear. Every nurse, nurse's aid, phlebotomist, cleaning staff, cafeteria staff, and doctors were kind and professional. I will return here:)

We had a great experience going for my husbands knee surgery! Not one complaint. We were kept up to date constantly. Checking on us, if we needed anything, smooth, efficient transfers from every stage. Mai, RN on the 7th floor was great, funny and always smiling and joking. The therapy team was great. Marshal escorted us out with the wheel chair! All Amazing thanks!!!

Absolutely 100% do not recommend. Wasn’t taken seriously for back pain when I literally can’t even walk because of it. Sent home with meds and no answer to what’s wrong. Only once I logged into the MyChart did I find out that I was pregnancy tested. The issue I went in for is just as bad if not worse than when I went in. Don’t waste your time.

My 3 month nephew went to retrieve treatment for one thing and left worse than he came for another thing. My nephew currently has to see a wound doctor because of the negligence of Cape Fear Valley Medical staff. He has a a huge wound on his foot, which was perfectly fine upon arrival, due to incorrectly inserting the IV needle. Due to their negligence, my sister and family are traumatized. My nephew came to them in distress and was sent home with worse conditions. The one star is given only so I can post this review.

My recent experience here was beyond any experience I’ve had at a hospital. Being admitted for 5 days was not an easy thing to deal with but every single staff member, from the nurses I had on every shift, to the transport guy who rolled me out on discharge day- everyone was amazing. No one likes being in the hospital but they made me as comfortable as possible and were mindful of even my husband who stayed with me. Currently on the road to getting better, can’t thank the staff enough for all they did. (Also, the cheeseburgers were really good) huge shout out to Dr. Patil, Mama Ro, Shalonda, Tara, Betlehem, Maurice from EEG and Chris in transport.. so many I wish I could name them all.. this is what great bedside manner, patient care and so on is all about. Thank you all so much, keep up the good work.

A bad experience makes me understand why there is such a bad reputation and low reviews which makes many people prefer to drive to other Hospitals 🏥 regardless of the distance. The service received today at Cape Fear Valley 6th Floor South shift from 7:00-3:00pm was the WORST experience ever to the extreme that we had to request a Voluntary Discharge for my family member, the treatment received by both the nurses and the Doctor during the shift was inhumane and degrading. 2 of the Nurses came to the Room screaming at us with a very aggressive attitude after we requested the discharge. Looks like they doesn’t deal with hispanics people during that shift.

My mom has been a patient both in the emergency room and in the hospital over the last couple of years. Every time, the doctors, nurses, and all staff we encountered were some of the nicest, most attentive and professional you could ever ask for. We appreciate all they have done for my mom and what they continue to do each day for others. Thanks so much!

Had an amazing delivery team!!!💙 I was very nervous due to it being my first time giving birth but the staff made me feel very comfortable in an extremely vulnerable situation. I’m very BLESSED to have had the RN I had I think her name was Mary but she pretty much saved me from an emergency C-section or worse !💙 The only thing was if you want a private birth make it know to your people from the beginning I was so tired from pushing I didn’t realize they had the whole pediatric team plus a few nurses that weren’t directly involved that were all watching, however they were all females and very kind 💙but it can still be awkward as your having your lady bits exposed and repaired lol. The aftercare staff that monitors the baby and mom once your moved rooms is also amazing! I really hope you have an experience like the one I had because I know the reviews can scare you like they did me
