The views are gorgeous, so that alone to me makes it all worth it! **Don’t expect an easy going experience.** NOT even exaggerating, there’s an extremely rough dirt road getting to the lighthouse. You'll need to go slow, and you’ll be fine. You'll come to an area to either park/walk trails, or to continue left down the road. I did not go left, so I'm not sure what's down there. But I did park/walk the trails. Make sure to wear sneakers, as there are a lot of rocks on the walk to the lighthouse. Like I said though, definitely worth it for the views!

Beautiful scenery with clear blue water. Loved the wild/less explored feel of this beach. You can spend the whole day going around the area discover cool spots..... There were some stray dogs that looked dehydrated and hungry....not sure how they got there.😥 We gave them left over food so make sure to bring something good for them.

We went there a Monday, Google maps said it was closed, but we were able to get to the place with no issues, be careful when getting to the parking area thought, the roads aren't maintained and it could become a challenge if you bring an small car, you can still make it, but it is a bumpy road. The views are amazing!

If you enjoy a breath taking view, this is a place to visit. Up front though, not the safest place to go if you have hyper children/teens. Its a rocky cliff that falls into the ocean with no barrier between you and certain death. Other than that it is a beauty of nature that you'll remember for a long time. Years back I took my son's High School photos there and they came out spectacular. This year I took my entire family to include our 2 year old granddaughter. Some other things to keep in mind. Like most places on the island, getting there is a bit challenging, the roads are not in their best condition. Once you get there there are not restroom facilities, not even a portopotty. Security, nor any Rangers of the Dept. of Natural Resources were present. Lastly, its a good mile or so walk from the "parking" area to the lighthouse. Take water and toilet paper.

Stunning Views!!! Cliffs are beautiful. I just wish the city or natural resources will take care of the “El Faro” structure to ensure it is well kept. I also wish the road to get there was a smoother ride. Overall is a must place to visit!!!!

It is a real shame what PR has allowed to happen to this landmark and surrounding area. The road to the lighthouse along the shore is co ered in potholes, ruts a lots of trash. Not sure why it is being neglected, but you can see some semblance of a beautiful drive surrounded by wildlife and water. Because of the damaged road we had to abandon our vehicle about 1.5km from the lighthouse and hike the rest of the way. Not bad except for some funky smells and swarms of flies hanging out on whatever was making the stench. In a 4x4 we would have been able to make it all the way to the overgrown parking lot which leaves a 0.5km hike to the lighthouse. The hike up the drive is more of the same: the drive in disrepair and overgrown brush. When we arrived at the lighthouse the theme co tinued with damaged fencing, uncut grass, overgrown brush and peeling paint. However, the views were wonderful. The surrounding land is made of 100ft cliffs looking down on pristine waters - made the trek worth it. I hope USA or PR Dept of Natural Resources uses some of their budget to make repairs and clean up because this is a gem that needs preservation.

We went to Faro Los Morrillos where the famous lighthouse is we really liked the view and everything but the Museum is closed they said that after the pandemic alot of things changed and the museum never opened I hope the govt. of PR will take a look of this place again its a tourist spot and people will be more gladly to go if the place is well maintained and everything.

Amazing views and a hidden gem. Security was blocking the entrance when we got there so we parked our cars on the street and then had to walk about 30 mins to the lighthouse. Only to find out by the time we were finished and walking back security was no longer there and anyone can come and go. It was too hot for all that walking. Beautiful place for great views though.

Amazing views! It is windy and hot and no bathrooms so come prepared. If you have little ones be careful as there are no guardrails. The dirt road in is quite bumpy so be prepared. After you see the spectacular views go take a dip in Playa Sucia, know as one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches here. There was a lot of seaweed when we went but it was still great

Gorgeous views of the ocean and the cliffs! It's very windy up there so avoid loose caps. The lighthouse itself is alright but the view is what's spectacular and makes it worth the visit

Beautiful lighthouse and place. The view from the cliffs are amazing. It's pretty windy, watch your hat and also your steps. The walk It's about 1.5 km to the lighthouse from the road where you can park your car. The view it's spectacular, well worth the walk. Along the was you can see the last hurricane's destruction.

Around half hour drive from Cabo Rojo plaza. Easy drive with the help of gps. The lighthouse is situated up on the cliffs. Depending on where you park it’s a good 15 minutes hike from the foot of the hill. Awesome views from the clifftop. Lots of photo opportunities. If it’s windy on the day of your visit, be careful at the edges of the cliffs. I suggest comfortable shoes and water.

(Translated by Google) This is one of the most visited sites on the island of Puerto Rico due to the beautiful landscape that the construction has. To get there, you must take a taxi from San Juan and travel for 25 minutes to Cabo Rojo. Visiting the Cabo Rojo Lighthouse is like doing a colonial visit, because the lighthouse is a Spanish construction that dates back more than 250 years. The site is made of sea stone and is 35 meters high. You must pay to enter and thus be able to take beautiful photographs of the sea, as well as access the history of the construction. Such a beautiful landscape and place to explore on foot. We enjoyed spending time at the lighthouse and the surrounding area. Beautiful wildlife reserve surrounded by Puerto Rican Coast. My advice, wear good shoes because they will be lots of walking as well as Sun protection. There are no vendors or bathrooms. Be ready to take great pictures and bring food and water. The lighthouse is closed and you cannot tour inside of it.

  • 5/5 s3nior R. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing sightseeing with breath taking views of the coast what else would you want? When I went the lighthouse was closed due to the pandemic unfortunately but that did not take away from the experience. The beautiful nature and overall beauty of the place is something to be seen.

This lighthouse have to be on your bucket list. It is a great place for great pictures for your family with the beautiful sea in the background, especially in the sunshine time. Make sure to bring your hydration system, because it gets hot during your 5 to 10 minutes trail walk to the lighthouse. Have fun.🙂🙂🙂

Faro los Morrillos is a beautifully maintained lighthouse in an incredible location. The coastline here is my favorite in Puerto Rico. A gorgeous hike down to the bay for swimming in the ocean will not disappoint. It's breathtaking.

Great hike to cliffs and a beautiful lighthouse. The best part is exploring the cave about halfway. Watch out for the cactus in lower elevation

  • 3/5 Josh A. 2 years ago on Google
Nice place and views. The light house is closed and you can not enter it. Excellent scenic views of the cliffs and sea. The road leading into the area is the worst road to exist. There are potholes and dips and holes all over. There is an area where there should be a bridge looks to be worn down by the weather and 0 maintenance done. Beware of this.

  • 5/5 Wally Dorsey, J. 2 years ago on Google
If you came to Puerto Rico to see Puerto Rico, this is a pretty stellar place to go. The road is not for the faint hearted, which seems to keep down the crowds. Having said that, there were plenty of locals (local tourists?) and zero tourists..... except us of course. The views are incredible. There are no facilities but that doesn't seem to stop the locals from posting up under the tree canopies and spending a gorgeous day along side of this pristine Bay, rumored to have been frequented by the late Edward Teach, the infamous Blackbeard! Sadly, on the road leading out to the Lighthouse, there plenty of scenes of leftover destruction from the twin hurricanes. Gorgeous flowering bushes and trees overtaking completely devastated, once beautiful hotels and homes.

By far, this is one of my favorite places in PR. The beach Playa Sucia is just beautiful. Waves are not too big to make it a dangerous beach. Yet, big enough to have fun with the family. One thing that's not great, tho, it's the vehicles access area. The road and the parking area has been abandoned. Therefore, it hasn't seen any maintenance since 2019. It's best to park the car at the very beginning of the road, then walk to the lighthouse and beach. Otherwise, get ready to entirely destroy your car's shock absorbers. Really, it's that bad. Apart from the road, the beach and other areas are still worth it.

It is worth going up to this beautiful old lighthouse! The view around it is gorgeous. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes, bring a light jacket. If you don’t like the wind, it was drizzling lightly when we were heading up to the lighthouse, beware of your hat, flying away as well. It was about 20-25mins to get up to the top, but worth it.

  • 4/5 gerard k. 1 year ago on Google
Gorgeous spot. Area - especially the salt flats- looks like it was hit hard by hurricanes and places where cars seem to have parked that were close to the light house are not open. So the walk up feels long in the sunny hot conditions. Views are lovely.

  • 5/5 D L. 10 months ago on Google
Still a great place to visit. Be sure to drive a vehicle with high clearance... road is bad. A Yellow Warbler decided to attack the reflection on the car mirror. An unexpected treat!!!

  • 4/5 Reyna O. 10 months ago on Google
Gates were closed, it was a 5-minute walk if you drove all the way to the last possible area. 10 minute walk if you stopped at what looks like the bottom of the lighthouse. The view from the ledge was amazing. Road to get there was extremely bumpy and had big dips.
