A few years ago I would have given this restaurant 5 stars. It had a great atmosphere and excellent service with a very warm, welcoming, friendly family-vibe. It was was also very busy and served good, fresh, well-prepared food. The last few times we’ve visited we’ve left feeling disappointed. Twice this was due to the service which felt unfriendly and unaccommodating. It was the little things…like asking for plates when we ordered pizza and begrudgingly being provided with these (rather than being answered with a smile and an “of course, no problem”)… like being served a dessert that wasn’t what was ordered and then being charged for it when it was accepted (staff asked if we’d have it because it would be otherwise wasted - it was affogato) .… like being served desserts and tea/coffee and at the same time being told we had to leave in 10 mins because the restaurant was closing….To be fair when I checked the website the following morning I saw that it said that closing time is 9.30 pm on Saturday - but it would have been helpful to have been told this when we were thinking of ordering desserts. As my husband said, it felt like a curfew. Also, to be fair, Alex (?… hope I have that right), a long-standing member of front of house, always provides excellent service. He still works there but, sadly, we weren’t served by him when we experienced issues. The food itself was good, but there were a few changes in terms of the options for vegetables that left us with the feeling that, overall, the eye of management is currently on $$$ rather than the customer experience. I hope that these issues are temporary , and that they are addressed, so that we can start to love this place again PS the pizzas are excellent here … the best in the area and a fantastic take-away option. This side of the business is 5 star!! The above review is just for the restaurant experience.

We ordered pizzas for delivery for the first time here in our quest for authentic Italian pizzas in this part of Sydney and we were not disappointed. Delightful pizzas. Looking forward to try dine-in and other options.

A hidden gem tucked away in the leafy streets of Wahroonga. We ordered the vegetarian penne and the garlic prawn risotto. Both were excellent and better than we expected. The service was professional and attentive, befitting a more expensive CBD Italian eatery. It is licenced and there is a bottle shop next door with an excellent selection of good wines.

The Lazana Pizza & Ristorante had been a fan favourite amongst me and my friends for the past year and a half, or should I say the PASTA year and a half. hahah. Anyways... I was SHOCKED on Sunday night when we decided to pop in for a meal. To my surprise, there was a MASSIVE fight going on... I'm talking punches to the face. I'm talking full on machetes. This kind of atmosphere is not ideal... anyways.... we were seated, and I ordered a margherita pizza, YUM! But when it arrived to my table BOOM!! THUNDER!!!! The sauce... was actually the blood of one of the people involved in the fight... I was appalled, how could they think it was appropriate to have the sauce on my beloved margherita pizza, be the blood of a fellow patron? I decided to eat the pizza anyways. Anyways.. Enjoyed my dinner with my cousins n family. Friendly staff. I was invited for dinner. Excellent n tasty food. If i visit Sydney again will definitely dine in to the restaurant.

Lazana has been our ‘go to’ restaurant for all birthdays and special occasions for the last few years and we have never had a bad experience there until last night. We went for my moms 75th birthday - after a year of health issues we really wanted it to be a special birthday. We arrived to our table of 12 to a waitress with an immediate attitude. She was abrupt and aggressive to whatever we asked. She then had a screaming match at the table with my sister in law as she said she had ordered her salad as a starter when she had ordered it as a main. She told us as the owner and will not accept my sister in law’s attitude. I have never in my life seen a staff member at any restaurant/establishment speak so badly to a customer. My husband approached her after our meal and told her her attitude from the beginning was a disgrace yet she carried on yelling at him. Thank you Lazana for ruining my mothers 75th birthday dinner. To the ‘owner’ you have lost the business of 3 extended families who had supported you over the last 6 years. Hi John, Thanks for the reply. It does not mean that because we have never left a review that we don't support your restaurant often! I notice that you did not comment with regards to the fact that your staff member was rude, abrupt and aggressive to our whole table from the minute we walked in - Is that behavior okay? We have been there many times and always get served by the lovely young waitress who continued to serve us on Saturday night and have never had a single incident of any of our family members being rude to her or her to us so what does that tell you? Perhaps you should ask her how my family members treat her?

Best pizza in our area. Always delicious and good value for money. Friendly service whether you dine in or take away.

High quality, authentic mediterranean food an excellent service. It's great to see small business surviving through hard times, whilst still maintaining such a wonderful family dining experience.

Contrary to other reviews, the staff were good, attentive, food arrived quickly. Food on the other hand was a little disappointing. I saw quite a few tables eating pizza, they have a takeaway shop for pizza, and it's known for their pizza. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype... the pizza was so and so, the meat was chewy and tough, and overall it was bland. Maybe expectation was more italian style of pizza, rather than Australian style pub pizza. Other dishes were pretty good tho, veal was good and tender. Maybe I just got a dud, as the few customers next to us seemed to really enjoyed their pizza. Will give them another chance.

While your pizzas a nice, I have changed the star rating I have given you because I order online & you don't seem to know what a Tiramisu is (on your menu). Twice now, you have given me a slab of cake, a small container of vanilla ice cream & a similar container of caramel sauce. That is NOT a tiramisu!

Why didn't I know about this little gem earlier?! Dined here last night and was pleasantly surprised! Beautiful restaurant with warm ambience and great food. Salt n pepper calamari great, Bruschetta was ok, a bit different to the norm with a twist of fried tomato and onion instead of raw..... some things are better left simple as it should be which really was the only downfall but not enough to deduct a star! Osso Bucco with mash was tender, rich sauce and yummo. Seafood Marinara also done well with generous serving. Pizza yum...Service was quite slow, waited nearly 45mins for entree but staff pleasant. All in all a fabulous place tucked away in East Wahroonga and would recommend a visit. Will be back for sure!

Great pizza! Not eaten in but looks nice inside. Only downside is that takeaway can be a little slow and chaotic sometimes.

Dinner for 4, food was very good, service impeccable. The lady who in training couldn't more to serve us. Highly recommended and will be our new Italian close to where we live

I had the salad which was mainly a whole pile of rocket and not much else unfortunately. Was expecting more. Very disappointing. Don’t think there was a piece of pear in there and about five pieces of walnut. Having said that my husband enjoyed his meal which is why I’m giving it a two rather than one

Love the hygiene and delicious tasty foods at this place the staffs are friendly. They were also very accommodating of our seating needs and created a table for us to manage baby and dog - much appreciate thank you guys

Enjoyed family dinner in a great atmosphere, with friendly and attentive staff. The pizzas were delicious and tasty. Pasta was good, however could have been better with a little less sauce, I think. Wonderful dining experience.

Great atmosphere, welcoming and attentive staff, and not to mention fantastic food. Had the seafood marinara and prawn risotto - everything was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend and will be returning for sure.

My family have been dining in at Lazana and getting takeaway here for probably over 8 years, food is delicious and can always count on them for a great meal.

We made a booking for 10 but they told us they’d have to treat us as two separate bookings. They’d take orders for five and then they’d take the orders for the other five. This made no sense to us as we were one group so we canceled the booking. We’re pretty sure this explains the slow service we’ve had before - they just didn’t tell us that’s what they were doing then. Never again for us.

They really needed more wait staff. It was a full house on a Saturday and the staff just couldn't cope but they were trying their best. We were told that it was the first night for one of the staff. BIG mistake. The food was OK, nothing special really just OK. I had never seen bruschetta presented that way and I am not a fan. Other entrees were nice. The prawn risotto and fettuccine marina needed a lift, but were OK. The sticky date was good but the tiramasu also needed more oomph. Apart from the new guy that forgot our order and said he never served us, the staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be under the circumstances. We all had a good night but it was a friends and copious amounts of red wine that did the trick. One more thing. They need some soft furnishings or noise abatement panels. With a full house it was sheer Bedlam.
