The view over the wetlands and mountain range from down the back is amazing. There is a fire pit and pergola down there and each evening the owner lights the fire and encourages the guests to enjoy it. You can sit there with a drink and listen to the cacophony of frogs and warbling magpies, and watch the wallabies mow the lawn. That’s their unique selling point!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are well equipped and the location to town is perfect, just a short stroll to all all the restaurants and cafes.. The highlight for us was the fire pit which overlooked an amazing view complete with kangaroos. This was also a great place to have a drink and meet other travellers. We would definitely recommend staying here and intend to return soon

What a beautiful place. We want to be back! Perfectly located to tour the Grampians, within walking distance to Halls Gap center, and a very beautiful view from the motel into the valley. Dozens of kangaroos grazing across the fence, sometimes on morel's lawn. Very clean and very friendly manager.

What a find! Lovely small motel with the most amazing views complete with wild Kangaroos and beautiful birds as well as a fire pit. Super friendly receptionist, room was great, big bed, full size fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery, parking on site. Excellent Indian restaurant next door which we used for a take away, general store a short drive away and other eateries available. Superb amenities, more than ample for a few nights, we only stayed overnight due to time constraints

Beautiful view of the mountains and wetlands. Lots of birds. Even saw some kangaroos boxing. Very tidy property, great atmosphere with the outdoor lounge area and fire pit.

Lovely place to stay in Halls Gap! Service was amazing and very friendly. Rooms were nice - we appreciated the cutlery etc that was provided, as well as toaster, microwave and fridge. Beautiful views over the wetlands to the peaks. Unfortunately it was raining when we stayed, so we didn't get to enjoy the campfire, but the pergola was a great place to sit (with heaters) even while it rained. Would definitely stay again!

I just loved staying at halls gap motel. location is brilliant and room was so clean and comfy. Netflix and youtube available to watch on tv. specially wood fire at night with mountain view. will stay again next time. ❤️

Amazing place. We stayed there for a few nights and the location was absolutely amazing, views, walkable to the halls gap shopping area. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Really great accommodation. A five minute walk into town and a twenty minute walk to the cultural centre. You can start pretty much all the best Halls Gap hikes right from the accommodation. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and even though the rooms are simple hotel rooms, there are multiple great outdoor entertaining areas that make you feel like you have heaps of space. Terrific value for money, really enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely stay in the Halls Gap Motel, the owners were very accommodating and lit the fire every day for guests. The location is hard to beat, the rooms are very clean and comfortable beds. We will be back

Just spent a delightful weekend staying at Halls Gap Motel. The room was spotless and the bed super comfortable. We loved the view from the sundeck at the back and watching the kangaroos and emus nearby. The wonderful, friendly service provided by the young woman working there, made our stay perfect!

A really nice motel at walking distance to town. Beds were good as well as the showers. In the evening the owners started the fire pit which was lovely and good for toasting marshmallows 😋

Owners were really friendly and helpful with suggesting local spots. Place was clean and great value. View in the evenings and afternoons was spectacular in the open area overlooking the mountains and paddock

Dear Mary -Ann to avoid getting nasty ratings in the future you should consider getting rid of the old short haired rude and   ill-natured woman that thinks very highly of herself and ruins the image of your motel. She needs to be taught proper hospitality skills and basic manners before she is let out to roam around freely near the motel.

This place is great. Booked here as got injured hiking the grampians peaks trail. They are extremely welcoming, the rooms are immaculate. Considering it’s a motel the communal garden and chill out space was much needed. A fire was lit in the evenings so you can enjoy the backdrop of mountains surrounded by wildlife. Would highly recommend, it’s more than just a motel.
