We finally found a great bagel place in Spain! We were passing through Madrid, and in serious need of some breakfast. We stopped in a few places, but nothing really caught our eye. We wandered around for a bit longer, and stumbled upon De Bagel. We knew right away we needed to try it! They have a big menu with plenty of options for everyone. The bagels themselves were huge! And very generous with the toppings. I shared an everything bagel with cream cheese with my daughter, and it was amazing. I like my bagels a little extra toasty, and this bagel was toasted to perfection! Plenty of cream cheese and generous with the everything seasoning. Our family is big on sharing, so I got to indulge in the avocado and tomato bagel (perfectly seasoned and piled high with avocado and tomato) and the same bagel but with egg added. The egg was a great addition! We also had the Central Park bagel, but added bacon and eggs to it. It was SO. GOOD. The orange juice was fresh squeezed to order, and much larger than expected. The service was great, the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and patient with us. I highly recommend eating here if you are in the area and in search of a great bagel!

The food was really good! We looked up restaurants near us for breakfast and when we saw this place, we were immediately intrigued. Their options are great, different flavours and different combinations of ingredients. You can choose a special bagel for €12,50 (or +4 if you want a large one) or a small bagel with coffee for a fair price. We tried four different bagels and all were very tasty. The bagel itself was heated up and crispy. There’s also an option to make your own bagel. - Typical Spanish: Very tasty, rating 9/10. Amazing iberico ham. - Little Italy: So sweet! The combination of the onion and the mortadella was really good. Rating 7/10. - Brooklyn: This could’ve been nice but the combination of the beef and the onion was not nice. It was too sweet, rating 2/10. - Tribeca bagel: Very good. Recommendation: add bacon! Rating 9/10. The only thing I do have to say about the food that the ingredients on the Little Italy bagel were not complete. It was missing the pistachio and instead of mozzarella there was regular cheese on it. So that’s really unfortunate. Although this was the case, we still enjoyed the food. We paid €51,60 for four bagels including drinks, so the price-quality ratio is good. The service was quick and the waitress was really polite. The interior is pretty cosy but nothing special.

The moment I walked into this unassuming little bagel joint in the heart of Madrid, I couldn't help but be skeptical. As a die-hard New Yorker with a passion for those quintessential doughy delights, I couldn't fathom how a place in the land of tapas and churros could possibly nail the art of crafting an authentic bagel. But, like any culinary adventurer worth their salt, I decided to give it a shot. After all, it's not every day you come across a bagel shop in Spain. Let me set the record straight from the get-go: This place doesn't offer the kind of bagel experience you'd find in the bustling streets of Brooklyn or the Upper West Side. But, truth be told, it's not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it's a refreshing departure from the norm that had me intrigued and excited. The moment that first sesame seed bagel graced my plate, it was evident that they'd taken some creative liberties with the classic New York formula. The bagel was slightly larger than usual, boasting a crispy crust that crackled under my teeth, giving way to a pleasantly chewy interior. It lacked that unmistakable New York bagel density, but it more than made up for it with its own unique charm. The flavor profile was a delicate dance of toasted sesame seeds and a subtle hint of sweetness that seemed to flirt with my taste buds. It wasn't the classic salt-and-carb explosion that I'm accustomed to, but the departure was welcomed, especially in a city known for its rich and hearty flavors. As for the toppings and fillings, I must admit I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. The language barrier made it a tad challenging to decipher the full extent of their offerings, and from what I could gather, sesame seed bagels appeared to be their pièce de résistance. Now, if you're a die-hard bagel aficionado like myself, you might crave a bit more variety – something a bit more adventurous to tickle your taste buds. But if you're willing to embrace the unexpected, this place might surprise you. As I took each bite, I couldn't help but marvel at the passion and dedication behind this unique take on a beloved classic. Sure, it may not satisfy the cravings of a homesick New Yorker seeking the comforts of the familiar, but it offers a fresh and exciting departure from tradition that celebrates the art of experimentation. In the end, this bagel shop in Madrid might not have been the New York bagel haven I was dreaming of, but it proved to be an excellent improvement on what I thought I knew about these circular delights. So, if you ever find yourself wandering the charming streets of Spain's capital and you're craving a bit of bagel adventure, this humble little joint might just be the unexpected haven you're looking for. Embrace the sesame seed and savor the departure, for in culinary exploration, there's always room for a delightful surprise.

I'm impressed actually. This is quite small place but it's cute enough and the coffee is amazing. The girls who attended me is so friendly and the client's attending is brilliant. I do recommend the place to all the people who want to take a coffee and to eat some delicious cakes. I do it and I'll do it because I really love it. Thanks a lot!!I❤️

Had the bagel with cream cheese and an americano, both were 10/10. The lady at the counter was nice too and she spoke English (I don't speak Spanish).

We have been there yesterday, and what I can say after also reading the other reviews is that it looks like the quality may not be consistent... we also felt that the bagels were smaller compared to the pictures, the roast beef was overcooked and the pastrami... did not taste like pastrami. All in all, good but slightly disappointing - we had high expectations. Nice and friendly service though!

The waiter was friendly and the food was served quick enough. However, my roastbeef in my bagel was dry, not to my liking, and I was missing big bagel favorites like egg salad and tuna salad on the menu. Maybe the don’t work well with Spanish crowd? The bagel bread itself wasn’t that great, but ok, this is not “Bagel land” so I do appreciate the effort. Lastly - seriously, no bacon in my salad means NO bacon. If you can’t deliver that, just say you can’t. This was very upsetting to me.

Great discovery in Madrid! We ordered the Pastrami Bagel and the Roastbeef Bagel and shared — the two of them were Delicious! If you are looking for an easy-tasty lunch this is your spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The service is quite fast and they are very nice so overall great experience.
