This restaurant was close to our hotel (La Princesa Plaza). It was a Sunday night and quiet when we sat down. For some reason we could not have cocktails but other alcohol was fine (I think we 'missed' something and never really asked why for language reasons!). Serving staff were helpful in choosing dishes. Tasty meal. We booked online and there are a few El Pimiento restaurants around Madrid so make sure you choose the right one for you when making the booking.

This is a Basque cuisine place - definitely less familiar to me. The artichokes were great, and the squid in it’s ink was unusual but very tasty. Overall highly recommended and would definitely return. Added July 2023: so I did go back, twice, and was a little disappointed; the artichokes were fabulous, but my squid in onion wasn’t very interesting, and the medium rare steak we ordered was more on the rare side.

My favourite restaurant in Madrid! The food and the service are excellent and the price is also very reasonable. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant with good food and prices, this is your place in Madrid!

Now in 2023: Always full, always excellent. This time we started with the classics: ham croquetas and delicious artichokes. The main course of fileted monkfish in a light garlic sauce on a bed of sliced potatoes was exceptional. And with an expresso to finish...the perfect meal. In 2021: We came here for lunch twice in one week; the first time for a proper lunch with a booking and the second on the off chance sharing tapas with a couple of beers. We were lucky, it´s very popular. So MUST BOOK. Food is excellent and service friendly. Recommend the artichokes. See picture.

We had such a lovely dinner. Had a selection of starters to share between the two of us and each dish was of great quality and the portions were generous (3 shared starters made us feel sooo full). Try their famous artichoke flowers, they’re so good. House vermouth and rioja were wonderful too. Great staff, very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely go back!

Great atmosphere and location. The caldo de alcachofas was the highlight. Good fish and I can highly recommend the stake with foie-gras

Superb! Pity I don’t have pictures. Their famous artichokes are to die for. I also had the monk fish after which was also very good. Definitely recommend coming here.

Good quality food and nice ambience. Staff was most helpful and friendly. The baked rice with lobster was absolutely delicious. The artichoke flower dish was a little disappointment though. But it could be down to personal taste and liking.

Nice place full of guests. Little bit crowded. The food is good. We had 4 starters to share. All of them are very tasty. Main dish we had the restaurant’s special the monkfish. And the sirloin steak with foie. The monkfish cooked fresh and tender. Personally I prefer the sirloin. A small tip, the amount of food is large that we were sorry for the leftover.

This is a great restaurant, the food is superb, the service is top notch and the venue is intimate without being claustrophobic. We stumbled on the place and so very pleased we did. Reasonably priced for Madrid given the location and quality of the food.

Everything I ordered was exquisite. From starters to dessert, you’ll be blown away by the variety of textures and flavors this restaurant has to offer. I’d recommend making a reservation because this place is always packed full. The staff was very nice and the service very efficient. If you visit them, you can’t leave without trying their chocolate dessert, it is to die for!

Beautiful place. Awesome top shelf liquors, especially if you are a gin fan. Service was very good. Artichoke app was great. Steak for two had great flavor but it was not a good of a cut as I would have preferred. Had to trim a fair bit. But it was very tasty. This is what prevented the fifth star. But I would absolutely go again.
