We've
been
searching
for
a
great
cake
and
desert
spot
ever
since
moving
to
Madrid.
Unfortunately,
this
isn't
it.
From
the
historic
street
setting
and
cute
decor
to
the
great
window
display
and
glowing
reviews,
we
thought
we
were
on
to
a
winner.
But
one
bite
in
to
the
stale,
tasteless
cakes
and
we
were
instantly
disappointed.
We
ordered
two
classics
that
any
bakery
should
just
be
able
to
ace
-
a
Red
Velvet
and
a
Death
By
Chocolate.
The
sponge
in
both
cakes
were
identical
apart
from
the
colour
-
dry,
stale
and
lacking
any
flavour.
Perhaps
the
worst
part
of
all
was
the
use
of
cream
(nata)
for
the
frosting
on
the
Red
Velvet.
It's
almost
criminal
to
call
it
a
Red
Velvet.
It
should
be
luscious
cream
cheese
frosting.
Not
tasteless
nata.
I'd
be
shocked
if
there
was
any
cream
cheese
used
at
all.
And
sadly,
the
indulgent
looking
chocolate
cake
lacked
any
chocolate
flavor.
Decorated
purely
for
looks
without
any
thought
for
flavour.
The
only
positive
was
the
friendly
employee.
This
store
clearly
know
how
to
make
cakes
look
good.
They
just
need
to
revisit
their
ingredients
and
make
them
taste
good
too.
