Die Fram ist sehr eindrücklich! Tipp von mir: schaut nicht alles ausserhalb vom Schiff an, sondern verbringt mehr Zeit im Schiff, wo ihr alles ansehen könnt.

The best place more than best I visited in Oslo If you are there, go to Bygdoy island and just enjoy there There are 5 or 6 museums and the best is Polar ship Fram museum There is old ship there and there is simulation of the ship in the ocean You feel yourself like in the ocean with big waves from the waters Apart from this, you can see old life in the see even the rooms of old sailors. Just amazing 👍👍 worth to visit and see something extraordinary

It is located in an area with several other museums including the Kon-Tiki Museum, the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History, the Viking Ship Museum and the Norwegian Maritime Museum. You can go there by bus. The route is very nice. Inside the museum is the original exploration vessel Fram. It is very interesting to "board" the ship and wander around its rooms.

Museum the polar ship , has more history for their , no way comparable to the 1200 year old Indian, tamil king raja raja chozhas mighty ship fleet , nonetheless commendable journey braving extreme conditions though in the 19 thth and 20 th centuries only

The more interesting museum of both Fram museums. Spectacular ship that can be visited, even inside. Good information structure throughout the museum.

We really liked the Polar Ship Museum, especially the “Fram” by Fridtjof Nansen. A great exhibition about the polar expeditions. A downer was that all languages worked over headphones during the film, only German in a few places, including mine. Our Norwegian tour guide explained a lot to us afterwards.

Talk about an immersive experience! So much information AND you get to board the ship and see what it would be like to live/sail in a smallish wooden box. Spend a day there!

One of the greatest museum I've ever been. Interactive, at you can experience the low temperatures in a special room, visit the Fram and see the visualisations of the Amundsen's trip. I admire one special thing. The whole museum pays tribute not only to Amundsen but also to Scott being closely second on the South Pole. You should visit this museum.

Very insightful. You can see the original ship and move freely on board. Lots of information about the expeditions. The Kontiki Museum is right opposite.

Totally loved this museum, the ship was the best and also the story on the walls, there are few items where you can actually interact with, overall I recommend this place. The people working here were absolutely awesome.

Very interesting experience because it allows you to explore the ship and, also, read information about the polar explore.

Minikreuzfahrt, Stadtrundfahrt, Hotelübernachtung. Hier hatten wir wieder etwas zu wenig Zeit. Das Museum ist grosse Klasse!

Kids had so much fun, lots of activities, pirate ship, volcano, slides etc. up stairs sitting area very comfortable, however if you want to have your lunch while watching your kids. Think twice. Food is not very good even basic chips looks weird. but other than that its great.

A wonderful museum, the atmosphere of the era of the conquest of the poles is very vividly restored. The exhibition evokes great respect for the people of Norway and their history.

Most people say 1 to 2 hours. I'm 3 and a half in and could spend another hour here easy. So many fascinating details if you take the time to experience everything.

Moving around the ship is a good way to appreciate the crews' experiences, with projections of waves and icebergs outside on the walls. But it is perhaps a bit too representative of a polar winter; it was too dark to see or read anything.

A very interesting museum worth visiting. Fun and full of information about artic exploration. You can spend 2 hours there at least and another 2 hrs in the other museum next door.

Best museum ever! Such a great expierence. Very, interactive and modern. That is how you want to learn about historical events.

This place is amazing, it is one of the best museums I have visited. Probably because of the fact that everything is situated in the polar ship. It is also very interactiv. The kids and adults both will love it. There is also a cinema in there where you can watch the movie about the history of polar travels in 10 different languages. Higly recommended.

  • 5/5 Kristina A. 1 year ago on Google
I could not believe we were actually allowed to get aboard the ships! Loads of information, easy to get to. Also has interactive stuff for kids

  • 5/5 Dimi C. 1 year ago on Google
Simply amazing. Best interactive museum ever. The stories on the wall can be tiring... If you want a full-scale immersion to polar exploration, in this museum you can. But you will need a day. If in a hurry, you should visit both boats, have a look at the "hemisphere" screen for a brief catch-up of the explorers' missions. Not to mention, the shop is quite competitive in prices, compared to the rest of Oslo!

You have the chance to walk on the ship and see how they lived and work during their journey. There is atmospheric music and lighting as well. So cool!!!

  • 5/5 Mike M. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent attraction. Real polar icebreaker ship. Converted to museum with many exhibits and audio visual presentations. No disabled access to ship itself as this is over 3 floors accessible by narrow stairs a nod low do ok rwats with steps. Lighting on top deck poor but this due to 180 degree video presentation visible from top floor. There is a museum shop and toilets along with large car park.

    So good! Absolutely no complaints.

  • 5/5 Zoltan K. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome place to check out the polar expeditions and the used ships. Both of the ships can be boarded which is super fun. On the ships there are interactive games for kids and adults as well. And the whole atmosphere is so cool, as an engineer I was so excited.
