Brilliant food for breakfast, tea, and supper! Been several times and am never disappointed with the food or service. The seating is cosy and well thought out so you don’t feel encroached upon, even when busy. A lovely atmosphere with great, friendly staff. Highly recommended for a few drinks, or family meal. Their vegetarian breakfast is great, as are their steaks and pretty much everything in between!

Lovely pub, excellent staff and delicious food. The House Burger was THE best one I've had, anywhere! We'll definitely be back here.....in fact we did come back for Sunday dinner....it was soooo tasty. Update: I've lost count of the number of times we've been back here. I've still to find another place that does a better burger than the House Burger....absolutely amazing.

Really lovely pub, had a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The inside looks newly refurbished and is very modern yet rustic. It wasn't too busy when we came for Sunday lunch but we had booked a table just in case. Got busier as we were leaving. The food was delicious and everything was decently priced. All in all a very good experience!

From being greeted at the door to leaving, a very nice dining experience. I will say booking isn't always necessary but I would definitely advise it. The layout is cosy and intimate in a large place with nice decor, tables etc. Friendly staff took orders timely and food served promptly. Nice menu with something for all tastes. Not a typical menu but everything we had was very nicely presented and tasted fresh. Three cask ales on (Timothy Taylor's Landlord, Wainwrights, Doom bar) should you want good ale. It's not a cheap eats place but it is a quality place. The dessert menu offers mini desserts with coffee. Certainly after a starter and main it's a nice sweet finisher. We went in March '23 but with the extensive outdoor areas I can imagine it's a great summer pub where you can enjoy food and drinks outside Al fresco. Will definitely return

This place is amazing, they've really done the refurb well. Don't expect pub prices but the food and service is exactly what you pay for. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was incredible. Nuff said 10/10

The pub is beautiful done up and the seating we asked for was fantastic but the menus you couldn't read the print was so small and not much to choose from and no set menu and no gamon steak also no mini sweets and coffee like they use to be I was very disappointed as it was my birthday

I've wanted to visit here for a few years and finally got around to it. I was not disappointed! The restaurant is lovely with open fires. The food was amazing and prices were fair. They are dog friendly although we went without the dogs this time round. Staff were lovely. They have cocktails which were a bit pricey for what you end up with in the glass, but a good selection to choose from. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for a lovely lunch.

It's a beautiful old building transformed into a restaurant that delivers great service, wonderful food. In a setting that you can enjoy indoors or outdoors. I had the chicken forrestiere opted for mash instead of skinny fries it was beautiful. I must say that the coffee is great I went for an Americano.

Took my mum for a lunchtime treat. Great table service, had 3 menus to chose from. I had calamari to start, very good and fish and chips again very good. Mum had the parfait which she said was lovely and the chicken again good.

We were served by Beth who was very attentive and really friendly and approachable. The food was great and extremely fresh, we had the pork belly and the Caesar salad which were both fantastic, can’t recommend enough!

Just what you would expect from a Vintage Inn pub/restaurant although a little tired in parts. Good selection of food nothing too fancy but well prepared and served. Good value of money. Great position just off the East Lancs road.

Fantastic Pub! Really enjoyed the new menu, the food quality is superb and cooked perfectly. The staff were super friendly and insightful. The new vegan options are also great (pictured: coconut panna cotta)

Had a lovely lunch here for my birthday, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. I had the soup for starter, beef brisket sandwich with Belgian fries for mains and the chocolate brownie for dessert, all very tasty, would definitely recommend. Would also recommend the fish & chips, and the forestiére chicken breast.

Great place and clean. Very good place for singles, friends and families. Easy access and private parking. Food is amazing. It is place for everything, you can have a quiet meal, you can have the pub feeling. You can watch games.

Had the homemade chicken pie. To start, it was disappointingly small. Then, the crust was hard and inedible, reducing the pie even more. The jus was the only good thing. I didn't send it back as I would not have eaten with my wife.

Throughly enjoyed our visit today. All the staff were really helpful & pleasant although it was a really busy time. Food & service excellent. Our main waitress was Lottie who was friendly, professional & helpful. She even blocked out the sun when it was shining directly in my eyes! Above & beyond! Thank you

I visited with friends. We all had a beautiful meal, it may be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The staff were friendly, very helpful and efficient. The food was delicious, a great atmosphere and the people in the pub were very friendly. Dogs are allowed here but I have no issues with this as all the dog owners are very responsible. I would definitely recommend this place and I will return. I had the Chicken Penang curry which was delicious and the pavlova (pictured) it was delicious too!

Staff great. Very engaging. Food lovely, though table not ready at booked time. Big issue was that the smokers congregated outside the main door. There must have been 10 people there chatting and smoking. By the time we walked through this to the car park,( the only way through) we stank of cigarette smoke. Horrible end to an otherwise lovely afternoon. Still smelt of it in the car!

On the day of our visit the restaurant had NO heating except for the open fires and on the admission of the lady who greeted us, they were not strong enough to heat the large pub. Despite the restaurant having my details, no effort was made to advise me of the issue. Throughout our meal my friends and I got colder and colder and were relieved to leave at the end of our meal. It may have been nice if a gesture of free of charge coffees had been offered, this may have at least earned our hands.

Went to The Woodside for the first time tonight and can confidently say my husband and I will be going again well worth the money and a must try. The service was fantastic the food came out quickly although it was busy plus the food was piping hot and very tasty.

I got the Sticky Sharing Platter as my starter and main. The Lamb Koftas were really nice, the prawns and chicken were OK and whatever that final tagine contained was vile. So basically 1/5 of the sharing Platter I didn't eat. I was really looking forward to the crumble dessert but the fruit didn't taste great and it was a little cold inside. The waitress that served us I couldn't fault, really attentive throughout. Overall disappointed, value for money just wasn't there for me, maybe I chose poorly.

We went for Sunday lunch yesterday and believe me when I say this place looks after there guests. We both had the Pork. We were not disappointed. If you are looking fir a cut above, this is most certainly the place to go. Staff were all very pleasant, welcoming and happy to help from the moment we arrived without being in the way. We loved our time spent there and won't hesitate to return. Well done staff at all levels.

Went for lunch on Thursday.. food above average and desserts were lovely. Shame the service didn’t meant the same standards, waitress quite blunt and came across like she didn’t really want to be there! Definitely would have had a better experience if we had received service with a smile!

Expensive / nice decor / good staff / disappointing food... The halloumi & veg skewers were stone cold & didn't have any veg on them, the peppercorn sauce was bland and defo not worth worth the added cost over an already v.pricey steak 🙄 (which also suffered from a chip shortage), the king prawns were very small, and the garlic mushroom starter didn't taste at all of garlic. Got comped the skewers we returned, so that was good, and their replacement was an improvement. Everything else was fine, and though I didn't have a dessert they seemed to be the best thing our table ordered. I know price rises have occurred recently, but comparable & nice pubs near me in London are more affordable than this, drinks included.

  • 4/5 Michael L. 2 years ago on Google
Nice pub, very up market in appearance- especially for the price. Only downside from our experience- online we saw a full ‘vegan’ menu that looked great. When we arrived we asked about it and we’re told that the vegan items were on the main menu, and not separate. However we only found a handful of items from the online menu. What we did have was great! Service was very quick.

Good social distancing, nice enough food but we didnt realise till finishing the Turkey Roast that there was no bacon wrapped stuffing. Portion sizes could do with being a bit bigger.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. A minor point at the end when we were left waiting for coffees and had to remind the waiter. The coffees arrived and were deducted from the final bill. Excellent choices on the menu, each of our party had the Sunday Roast. Having had starters only the Cheese Board was chosen for dessert and there was ample to share even though it was not described as a sharing platter on the menu.

  • 5/5 Stephen B. 3 years ago on Google
Lovely Sunday dinner and generous portions. They've got a good set up also to cover all the social distancing requirements along with helpful friendly staff. I've been a few times before and the food has always been lovely. If you've never been, I recommend you give The Woodside a go. If I lived more local it would definitely be a place I'd visit more often.

Really good quality! We went for a roast dinner and were very pleased! Generous portions and tasted like high quality veg. The waitress that served us was very attentive and friendly. All in all a great experience, we will definitely be coming again! Would recommend booking if you plan on going on a Sunday, we've been turned away once before because they were full so make sure you book first!

Just left here and have to admit the food was exceptional.. Far better than you might expect from a pub with restaurant. While the food was exquisite it was surpassed by the excellent table service... 3 adults 3 children and our waitress Jamin was superb.. A true credit to both the woodside and the profession. Her demeanour, attention to detail and table manner far exceeded those of many doing the role... We would definitely come again and recommend the place to anyone based on this fabulous experience. Well Done.
