Divine Shiva temple engraved out in a cave with amazing architecture. Such a divine experience and one has to be a little careful if with senior citizens or smaller kids as it requires some bending and careful move to avoid hitting your head or slipping. It may be as hot as it can be outside but inside it's a cooler environment. Parking is again on the street outside.

Historical temple in Bangalore built by Kempe Gowda. The temple is inside a cave. The temple yard is adorned with large monolithic sculptures. Original entrance seems to be closed and has people living inside (though a board mentions protected monument). Can be kept more clean and tidy in accordance with its historical nature.

Such a beautiful temple. History about this temple is incredible. Original rock structure. Those huge sculptures are a delight to eyes. Neatly maintained. Miracle during Makara Sankranti has to be witnessed atleast once. Peaceful, can sit and meditate for hours.

A very beautiful and historic cave temple in the heart of the city. A very calm and relaxing experience for the soul once you visit this temple. The height inside is low and you need to bend and get inside at some places. The temple is all together inside the stone hill. Early morning Pooja darshan is wonderful here. There's limited parking within the compound for two wheeler and four wheeler for the temple. Try to visit for the morning Abhishekam.

Historical temple. Good to know about our culture, Lord shiva, inside caves so beautiful. On makar sankranti, the sunlight directly falls on shiva linga. It's a miracle.

Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple, or Sri Gangaadhareshwara, also Gavipura Cave Temple, is located in Bengaluru. The temple is famous for its mysterious stone discs in the forecourt and the exact planning allowing the sun to shine on the shrine during certain time of the year. It was built in the 16th century by Kempe Gowda I, the founder of the city. The cave temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva!! It's a beautiful temple and a must visit temple to seek Lord Shiva's blessings.

Gavi, meaning the cave where lord Shiva is housed. This is a very ancient and a beautiful temple. A must visit if you are visiting or stay in Bangalore. Pls note that there are 2 parikrama routes in the cave, one immediately beside the lord Shiva sanctum and another a bit away. The later one gives you a real feel of the cave and along this path is many idols of goddess is placed. Do both the parikrama.(Do a third one as parikrama should be done in odd counts...1,3,5..)

The temple itself is carved out of a rock. The place is maintained decently. Tall people will find it little challenging going around the shrine. A nice weekend visiting spot if you are looking for an out of the ordinary temple place

Very old cave temple and a rare one in this city. Temple has many amazing sculptures and details. Also has two levels of praharams to go around and just that you have to mind the height. Its possible to go one level up to see the gopuram through steps on the right side. There are parking available. The main entrance is bit misleading. Premises around the temple could have been better protected.

Visiting 'Shri Gavi Gangadhareshwara Swamy Devasthana' has become a regular and peaceful ritual for me. Each time I enter this sacred place, I experience a different and profound feeling of serenity. The atmosphere is truly divine, and as I bow my head in reverence, I can't help but say, 'Om Namah Shivaya' – a mantra that resonates with the tranquil energy of the temple, connecting me to a deeper spirituality.

Best historic place of Bengaluru this temple is built by kempegowda it’s more than 150 years old and here the temple is very famous because of its guhe (cave) temple and it’s very famous as during jan 15th on Sankranthi the sun god suryarashmi (rays of sun) falls on shiva linga for 3 mins and touching the Basava statue to see this more than lakh people go for this temple and again on Karthika month and Shravana month the temple will become more busy as everyone come to do Deepa arathi so it’s pretty 😍 temple with positive vibes

Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple, or Sri Gangaadhareshwara, also Gavipura Cave Temple. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the temple witnesses a unique phenomenon in the evening where sunlight passes through an arc between the horns of Nandi and falls directly on the linga inside the cave and illuminating the interior idol for an hour. Lakhs of devotees come in mid January every year on Makar sankranti day to this cave temple.

One of the ancient spiritual Shiva Cave Temple in this city. Located in Gavipuram. Nearest Metro 🚇 station is National College Metro station. Temple has many amazing pillars, sculptures & details. The gopuram side was locked, but opened for College students who came there as a part of tour. They could have maintained the temple better. Also there are 3-4 temples in walkable distance nearby.

Divine place that contains a cave which contains a temple of God Shiva......a presence of falling up of sunlight on Shivalinga would be seen as though there is no hole inside the cave.... Outside of the temple there can be 4 wheeler parking availability on some of the days otherwise there is a parking availability for vehicles would be there..... Nearby there is a government library is also there.....

The temple is very divine. It is the place where sunlight will fall on shivalinga only on the Sankranti festival. The temple is under the cave. Even on weekend we visited without any queue. We could spend a good time in front of God. We should go a round inside the cave where we can see other idols of God. The Shivalinga is very divine and overwhelming.

It is a cave temple usually crowded on Shivaratri. Make sure you take some water when you visit since visiting queue is long generally. Sharing some snaps of 2022 Shivaratri. But overall a peaceful experience. Must visit.

This temple is like coated in gavipuram guttahalli Bangalore where sunrays will touch lord shiva lingam on the day of makara sankranti. Whole temple is in cave. We can find lord shiva, Parvathi, ganesh, Subramanya, hanuman , kalabairava, veerbhadra statues inside the temple. Shiva is Adobe's here in the name of gangadhara. Pradosha kala pooja aslo done here. As it is covid time only darshan is available. It vl be difficult for senior citizens to go inside as steps are in heights but they have grill to hold. Overall ancient miracle temple in Bangalore you can visit while travelling around chamarajpet or Bangalore south. Next to this temple there government middle school where superstar rajnikanth has completed his schooling.

A beautiful cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of a Shivaling. People of tall height might have to bend a little as the roof the inner sanctum is a bit low. Apart from Mahadev, the temple also houses murtis of Durga, Vinayaka, Murugan, Dakshinamurthy, Kaal Bhairava, Veerabhadra and Uma-Maheshwara inside the cave, and Ayappaswamy, Anjaneya, Valli Devasena Shanmukha, Navagraha and Naga just outside it. Do notice the architecture of the temple top, which you can access from a staircase on the East side. It is built according to a very ancient style.

Ancient Shiva Temple inside a cave. The cave is approximately 4.5 feet tall.. We had to bend a little while doing the parikrama of the garbhagra. We got the sugarcane juice for prasadam. It was a divine experience. Inside the temple we felt as if we were in some other timeline. At the temple one devotee told us that it was believed that there was a tunnel route for Kashi straight from this temple cave. Many many interesting stories we heard there. It was a very eventful day.

This is a very historical devotional place located in Hanumanthanagar, Bangalore. The shrine is located inside the cave. Be watchful as aged people can't do pradakshina around the shrine inside as it's very slippery. This is a fantastic and powerful temple. The beauty of this temple is that on Makara Sankranthi the sun rays falls directly on Shivalinga though the devine linga is located below the ground level. The engineering is superb. As usual, there is a parking problem for cars during the festival season. It's a must watch for all those who believe in God and who would like to understand engineering of the temple. The civil engineering students will surely be shocked to know the instruments used in those days. The temple is very small but very appealing for the devotees. If you get a chance to meditate inside the cave, trust me all the chakras will be richly energised.
