Namma kula devaru 🙏🙏🙏 Devi's devine powers and presense in this place is absolutely wonderful if you witness it.. Devi here surely blesses everyone with good intent and prayers. The temple ll be usually crowded on weekends and may be you have to wait between 30mins to 60mins max. The queue system is good and fast moving. * There ll be dasoha for all in the temple * Washrooms are available, but not greatly maintained * Sufficient car parking * 2 hours drive from Hubli * Good roads * Lot of historical places to see around Please maintain the serenity of the place by keeping it clean

Banashankari Devi Temple (or Banashankari temple) is a Hindu shrine located at Cholachagudda near Badami, in Bagalkot district, Karnataka, India. The temple is popularly called 'Shakambhari' 'Banashankari or Vanashankari' since it is located in the Tilakaaranya forest. The temple deity is also called the Shakambhari (Kannada: ಶಾಕoಭರಿ), an incarnation of the goddess Parvati. The temple attracts devotees from Karnataka as well as the neighbouring state of Maharashtra. The original temple was built by the 7th century Badami Chalukya kings, who worshipped goddess Banashankari as their tutelary deity. The temple celebrates its annual festival called Banashankari jatre, in the months of January or February. The festival comprises cultural programmes, boat festival as well as a Rath yatra, when the temple goddess is paraded around the city in a chariot. Banshakhari is a form of Maa Shakambhari Devi whose real, main and ancient temple is located in Saharanpur District in Uttar Pradesh. It is also known as Shaktipeeth Shakambhari Devi. There are statues of Bhima, Bhramari, Shatakshi and Ganesha along with mother.

Shree Shakambhari Shakti Peetham is a divine sanctuary radiating spiritual energy. The serene ambiance and sacred vibrations make it an ideal place for introspection and prayer. The temple's architecture is awe-inspiring, reflecting cultural richness. Devotees experience a profound connection with the divine during rituals and ceremonies. The priests are knowledgeable, enhancing the spiritual journey. The surrounding gardens provide a peaceful retreat for contemplation. Overall, a spiritually uplifting haven where one can seek solace and connect with higher realms. A must-visit for those on a spiritual quest.

One of the holly place of Karnataka where the goddess Banashankari Devi is worshiped. Most of the time populated with devotees. Should visit. Need to maintain more clean and systematic. Especially outside the temple .

Luckily for me, the temple was not crowded. Heard from local folks that it's too crowded on Mondays and Tuesdays with devotees thronging from even Maharastra and AP. Temple is not a huge complex and if it would take some time, then probably it would be waiting in long queues.

This is the best tourist attraction and a holy place for many. I nearly visit this place once a year and it just fulfills my heart. Everyone must visit this place once in a lifetime. The place is really beautiful and you can find lodging place near the hotel. The loding charges are 500 for a single room with bed and 200 for without bed. The people are really good and helpful. The will help you even if they don't even know your language or you don't knowing what they are talking, still they will manage to help. You can stay for a week and visit nearby places too. There's a much more to visit nearby, for more details FOLLOW ME!!🙈😍

Usually it's really a crowded place but in this 2020 pandemic there weren't much devotees at the temple so not much queue. The area can be quite hot in the summer so best time to visit will be in the winter season. Rainy season is also not recommended because if the rainfall is more than roads might get blocked indefinitely. Since it's a famous place I hope the committee of that temple will maintain cleanliness in the future because there's really a lot of unhygienic spots around the temple and that village.

During our family tour to ‘Magical Hampi’ in Karnataka, while return journey from Hampi, we have visited to the famous ‘Shri Shakambhari Banashankari Shakti Peetha’. The temple deity is called as Shri Shakambhari Devi, an incarnation of the goddess Parvati. It is one of the wonderful holy places of Karnataka and is located at around 6 Km away from Badami in Badami. The structure of temple is so nice and looks beautiful. The temple celebrates its annual festival called Banashankari jatra, in the months of January or February; while our visit to this temple, the festival was going on and lot of devotees were came to celebrate the festival from Karnataka as well as the neighbouring state of Maharashtra. It's a wonderful place where you're blessed by Shri Shakambhari devi.

Banashankari temple, is located at Cholachagudda near Badami, Karnataka. It is one amongst the most famous Hindu shrines in the state. Several stories and beliefs revolve around the temple regarding its construction, history, and culture. However, the most exciting fact about this temple is that the people worship 'Rahukala' which is considered inauspicious as per Hindu culture. The devotees pray to Rahukala to let go of all the miseries, poverty and inauspiciousness from their life. The Banashankari temple has a past of harmony, being constructed and renovated in the Dravidian and Nagara architectural styles. It has maintained its tradition of unity in the religious cum cultural festival of Banashankari Jatre every January, where people from Karnataka and adjacent states pour in to show their devotion and also witness in the cultural programmes and the fair. The Haridra Tirtha is a pond in the temple complex with a tall lamp over a three-story structure and this is an architectural marvel.

Sree Banashankari Temple is located near Badami in Bagalkot district of Karnataka. It is a Beautiful temple and we had our Darshan of Shree Banashankari Devi during the month long temple festival in Feb 2024. It is very ancient temple (7th Century AD temple, built by Chalukya kingdom). The large temple tank is dry now and the surroundings are not so clean now. The upkeeping and maintenance of the temple is not up to the standard. Hope the Hindu organization will take up the challenge to clean-up the surroundings and redevelop the area in consultation with the local authorities. But seeing the idol in the Sanctum Sanctorium is mesmerising and will give you an electrifying positice energy.

Blessed. Usually busy during festival days. Specially from mid jan till feb mid. If you need to get any specials poojas done, one must get the tickets booked prior, in person. Would recommend to visit during less busy days to get the darshana. If you are travelling from long, badami is the best place to stay, however, the temple premises also have the facilities. Just check the website / call temple to confirm before visiting. Cheers

The Mother Goddess ( A forest dwelling deity) here has been in worship since time immemorial and the first temple is. Elieved to have been built around 7th or 8th Century . In later times ,many renovations ,additions and rebuilding have taken place , so wecan see many kinds of influences like Vijayanagara , Maratha etc in the buildings around . Darshan is very organised and everyone can get a peaceful view of the Devi , without pushing-pulling . The huge tank was almost full ( after rains) , but unfortnately , littered with plastic garbage . Wish pilgrims have more sense of responsibility .

We visited the temple on a Tuesday afternoon by 3:30pm. There were hardly a few people for the darshan of Amma. We had a very peaceful and heart satisfying darshan and spent some time in the temple campus. We were blessed to have this Darshana and thank the universe for offering the same. The temple was clean and well maintained. Wishing every one prosperity and good darshan of the amma for everyone's wellbeing. Namaskars to you all.

Visited Ma devi temple during November. Feel very blessed after taking Darshan. During normal time, Darshan time would be 10 mins. This is ideal month as there is no much heat and you can roam around nearby area as Badami caves which is 5 km from temple. Car parking is available with pay and park. If you are planning to visit this place from Hampi I would suggest to follow the Google map as roads are zigzag and some times confuse you as there is no directions are available on the road. Also road from Hampi to Badami is not in great form and lots of pot holes, better to plan from morning as evening drive would be challenging and will take more time.

This is a temple of Shakambhari Devi located near Badami. As soon as you enter the street you can tell it has stood the test of time. There is a structure outside the temple where people leave their shoes which looks like a lamp house along with the temple well. Inside you can also notice the tall structure for lamps similar to the one outside. Good place for a morning visit.

What can I say .. this is truly a ln amazing temple , well maintained and we are always big bhakthas of banshankari Devi. Love the overalll atmosphere . Early morning poojas are so auspicious . Alangaaram that they do is very unique and I haven’t seen such alangaarams in any other temple . We come here once in 1-2 years and it has always been a pleasant tour . There is a slight language barrier but few pundits know hindi . Lots of shops and food places around the temple . We like the big pond opposite . A sure shot visit if you guys are in badami.
