During my visit to Dharmshala visited the museum. And it was a great and very good experience for me as I got to know much about the Tibet and Tibet government in exile. The museum is inside the Tibetan administration area. And is nicely managed and the place and the surrounding is very neat and clean. So a must visit if you are in Dharmshala Or planning to be there.

Excellent museum. Very informative and has a variety of different displays. My favorite was the Dalai Lama section, particularly the interactive “108 Questions & Answers” that the Dalai Lama has provided in interviews, talks, etc. This museum was one of the most impactful experiences of mine and my partner’s trip to India and we feel for the Tibetan people.

Excellent - a super modern and engaging museum about Tibet. A must-see while you’re in Dharamshala. Spent about 2 hours here. Have your phone charged, bring headphones (and a powerbank), use the museum wi-fi to open the app or website, and you can simultaneously listen to the audio tour while reading the many descriptions and watching the videos. I had done some reading and tours about Tibetan refugee settlements in Nepal and India, but this museum visually brings all the history together with stories, timelines, maps, and images to create a comprehensive understanding about Tibet and its people. The website is great for referencing later, as well.

Must to visit! I really appreciated this museum! Over my expectations!! Also the entry fee is very cheap, only 20 rupees. The museum is very well designed and clear. At the end the Q&A to Dalai Lama are very interesting! Don't miss it! Pay attention that the museum is located in front of the library, not properly where Google Maps shows.

I was so pleasured to be here, as a tibetan and raised by tibetan culture living all my life in Nepal, Kathmandu. This, museum was very much needed for me, personally. I am so grateful I got to learn much more about my culture and country's; history, present and possibilities in future. Thank you, Tibet Museum for such opportunity to learn. I suggest every tibetan living outside dharamsala when you get chance you must visit it and also people who supports us tibetans and wants to learn more about tibet and tibetans.

The museum displays a detailed history of the Tibetans in exile in India, how and why they had to leave Tibet and come here. It also has exhibits and films about the costumes and food of Tibetans. Another section shows the contributions of Tibetans to literature, music, art etc.

This Museum is about the history and culture of Tibet. What led to the migration of Tibet, how they settled in Mcleodganj, the current situation of Tibet etc. such things are covered here. There is also information about successful Tibetan people. One of my favourite parts of the museum is the selected 108 questions answered by His holiness Dalai Lama. A must visit place in Dharamshala.

Tibet Museum in Dharamshala: A Window into Tibetan Culture and Heritage Nestled in the serene town of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, the Tibet Museum stands as a beacon of Tibetan culture and history. Having recently visited this cultural gem, I was captivated by the wealth of knowledge and insights it offered into the rich tapestry of Tibetan heritage. The Tibet Museum is located within the premises of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile and serves as a vital institution in preserving and showcasing the struggles, triumphs, and traditions of the Tibetan people. As I stepped inside, I was greeted by a tranquil ambiance, adorned with vibrant Tibetan artworks and artifacts. The museum's layout is thoughtfully designed, guiding visitors through a chronological journey of Tibet's past and present. The exhibits at the Tibet Museum are a treasure trove of information, providing a comprehensive understanding of Tibetan history, art, religion, and the Tibetan diaspora. The museum houses an impressive collection of photographs, documents, manuscripts, and personal belongings of Tibetan refugees, giving a poignant glimpse into their lives and their pursuit of freedom and cultural preservation. One of the most compelling sections of the museum is the section dedicated to the Tibetan struggle for autonomy and the plight of Tibetan refugees. Through powerful visual displays and audio recordings, the museum sheds light on the challenges faced by Tibetans and their unwavering spirit in the face of adversity. It serves as a reminder of the resilience and determination of the Tibetan people in their quest for justice and human rights. The museum also showcases a remarkable array of Tibetan art and craftsmanship. Intricate thangka paintings, delicate woodwork, and finely crafted statues adorn the galleries, showcasing the artistic mastery of Tibetan artisans. These exquisite pieces provide insights into the spiritual and cultural traditions that have shaped Tibetan society for centuries. The Tibet Museum goes beyond being a mere repository of artifacts; it also serves as an educational hub. The museum offers educational programs, workshops, and interactive sessions that allow visitors to engage more deeply with Tibetan culture and history. It's a valuable resource for researchers, scholars, and anyone seeking to delve into the intricacies of Tibetan heritage. In conclusion, the Tibet Museum in Dharamshala is a true gem that offers a profound and enlightening experience. It serves as a window into the struggles and triumphs of the Tibetan people while celebrating their rich cultural heritage. Whether you are a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply curious about Tibetan culture, the Tibet Museum is a must-visit destination that will leave you with a deeper appreciation for the Tibetan way of life..... But waste of time for me

An eye opener on the history of Tibet and its people. Heart wrenching to see what they have gone through and how China continues to spread misinformation just to further its own imperialistic agenda

Very informative museum about Tibetian history, their conflicts and history with China and individual stories of fleeing. The information is processed and presented very sophisticated with good quality material. The museum does not aim to be neutral. So bring some time, the museum is definitely worth it.

Must visit place. The video session was eye-opening. The collection is fantastic and well preserved. Such rich heritage and culture. The shops outside sell good clothes and souvenirs. You can buy nice and cheap postcards at the reception. Parking is a slight issue but that's with entire McleodGanj.

👍👍 It's developed by Tata and the quality shows ... Round trip cost was above 627 per pax on that day; Dharmshala end can be accessed via taxi stand as of today and they have a private car parking space above taxi stand area so you will need to walk a bit to get there. Some construction on the walkway...
