This Park conserves rare, threatened and endangered species of fauna and facilitates the linkage between ex-situ and in-situ conservation, breeding and rearing of endangered faunal species with the objective of saving them from extinction, and creation of awareness and education in wildlife conservation through zoo-people interface. It also facilitates Animal Treatment Room and a separate Play Ground for Children.

First and foremost, they don’t accept online payment. You need to pay with cash which is a bit of inconvenience. The zoo is pretty big and you have to explore by your feet only. Everything is neatly and clearly labelled, but the variety of animals are limited. Highlight of the zoo are Asiatic Lion and Common Leopard. Some variety of birds are also there. Surprisingly, during my visit, I didn’t find any staff members or any watch guards around the place, which I think is must in a place where wild animals are kept in captivity. You will find the staff members at the entrance only. There are toilets and drinking water all around the premises. You will also find the watch towers to gaze throughout the zoo. The area is also clean, but the irresponsible visitor always tend to throw their garbage in such areas. Overall, it’s a decent zoo, and it will take around a solid hour or two to explore the whole place. Probably, a best place to visit with family on weekends. The zoo remain closed on every Monday. There’s also a plenty of parking space.

Dhauladhar Nature Park Zoo is a perfect destination for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. This zoo is situated in the scenic beauty of the Dhauladhar range of mountains and offers a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the region. Spread across a vast area of over 30 acres, the zoo is home to a variety of animals, birds, and reptiles. The zoo is well-maintained, and the animals are kept in clean and hygienic conditions. The enclosures are spacious and provide ample space for the animals to move around freely. Visitors can walk through the park and observe the animals in their natural habitat, without disturbing them. The zoo has a diverse range of animal species, including tigers, lions, bears, deer, monkeys, and many more. The tigers and lions are the main attraction of the zoo. They are kept in large enclosures with ample space and natural vegetation, which makes the visitors feel like they are in a real jungle. The bear enclosure is also quite impressive. The bears are kept in a large natural enclosure with plenty of trees and logs for them to climb on. They are quite active, and visitors can watch them play and interact with each other. One of the unique features of the zoo is the aviary, which houses a variety of bird species. Visitors can walk through the aviary and observe the birds flying around freely. The zookeepers also conduct regular bird shows, where visitors can witness the birds perform tricks and showcase their natural abilities. The reptile house is also worth a visit. It is home to a variety of snakes, lizards, and other reptiles. The enclosures are designed to mimic their natural habitats, and visitors can observe these fascinating creatures up close. Apart from the animals, the zoo also has a small botanical garden. The garden has a variety of plants and trees, which are native to the region. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll through the garden and admire the natural beauty of the surroundings. Overall, Dhauladhar Nature Park Zoo is a great place to visit for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. The zoo is well-maintained, and the animals are kept in clean and hygienic conditions. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they provide visitors with interesting facts and information about the animals. The admission fee is also quite reasonable, making it an affordable and enjoyable experience for families and tourists alike. I highly recommend visiting Dhauladhar Nature Park Zoo if you are in the area.

It's a good place to hang out on the weekend with family.. You'll get to see various species of animals and birds.. As you enter the zoo Beautiful birds on your right are so mesmerizing. Lions, cheetahs, sambhar, black kites, Emu and wild cats are the highlights of this zoo. To spend Some time in the laps of nature with peace and away from the hustle bustle of the street this place is a better option for you.

This nature park is very beautifully built. It is situated in Gopalpur, about 20kms from Dharamshala, and around 13kms from Palampur. Timings - Winters - 9AM to 5PM Summers - 9AM to 7PM There are numerous beautiful birds in the zoo like Grey Peacock Pheasant, Khalij Pheasant, Black Kite, Himalayan Griffon Vulture, Blue fronted Redstart, Red Junglefowl, Love Birds, Emu etc. Among the animals, the zoo has Asiatic Lion and Lioness (which presented a beautiful show in front of us), Leopard, Leopard Cat, Sambhar Deer, Wild Boar, Barking Deer, and of course numerous monkeys too. The zoo has around 11-13 leopards. The park has slides for children too. Special Note - CLOSED ON MONDAYS. So plan your trip accordingly.

Do not visit in hot summer. Too heated and animals are bit lazy as they find a place to hid themselves in shade. Visit on cool days . A great place for your kids.

Zoos play a significant role in educating and entertaining visitors while promoting conservation efforts. In this review, I will provide an overview of a zoo based on the context provided. The zoo I visited offers a captivating experience for both children and adults. With a wide variety of animal species from around the world, it provides an opportunity to learn about different ecosystems and the importance of wildlife conservation. One of the standout features of this zoo is the well-maintained enclosures that closely resemble the natural habitats of the animals. This allows visitors to observe the animals in a comfortable and safe environment while minimizing any potential stress to the animals. The zoo staff are knowledgeable and passionate about the animals in their care. They are readily available to answer questions and provide interesting facts about the various species. Additionally, the zoo offers informative and engaging animal shows and feeding sessions, enhancing the overall experience. The facilities at the zoo are clean and well-maintained, with ample seating areas and food options available. The layout of the zoo is well-designed, making it easy to navigate and ensuring that visitors can see all the exhibits without feeling rushed. While the zoo provides an enjoyable experience, it is important to note that some enclosures may be smaller than ideal for certain species. However, efforts are being made to improve and expand these habitats. Overall, this zoo offers an educational and entertaining experience for visitors of all ages. It serves as a valuable platform for raising awareness about wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting our planet's biodiversity.

Overall good experience here ... . According to current information that there is not even single bear 🐻 present here .. so you miss the chance.. . But the excitement level goes down when you travel more and more, after travelling of 300-400 mtrs your excitement level is on peak because you see tigers there .... . Go and visit here with your friends, family and loved ones...

Had great experience visiting the zoo. Area is quite big, it's just like watching animals in the natural habitat just fence away. There are unisex toilets at every corner of the zoo. Small kids park are there where kids can enjoy too. There are not many animals to see but cover major ones like the king of the jungle Asiatic Lion, Leopard, Sambhar, black bear, leopard cat, vulture, wild pig, different colorful birds etc. Major attraction : It has some watch towers that give panoramic view of the entire jungle and the dhauladhar peaks.

I never thought that there's is well maintained zoo/park just at back of the Palampur. Visited it this time because of kids but it's lovely. Best part is it has most of the animals 🦁 lion, 🐯 tiger, 🐻 Bear, deer 🦌 etc. And monkeys are anyhow can be found anywhere these day's. There is a small playing area for kids where they did enjoy a lot. Birds were very beautiful.

Dhauladhar Nature Park is a gem nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Himachal Pradesh, and my recent visit there with my brother, Rugved, was an absolute delight. As we entered the park, we were immediately impressed by its neat and clean ambiance. The well-maintained surroundings added to the charm, making it a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages. One of the highlights of Dhauladhar Nature Park is the wide variety of animals it houses. From exotic birds to majestic deer and other local fauna, the park offers a unique opportunity to observe these creatures up close in their natural habitat. The park's efforts towards wildlife conservation and providing a safe haven for these animals are commendable. The park's walkway is one of the best features for visitors. The well-designed pathways wind through the lush greenery, offering a serene and immersive experience with nature. We thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely stroll, soaking in the natural beauty around us. The park also implements a stringent disinfection process for visitors' feet, ensuring a hygienic and safe experience. This attention to health and safety measures is praiseworthy and added to our peace of mind during the visit. The staff at Dhauladhar Nature Park deserves special mention for their politeness and helpfulness. They were readily available to answer questions and guide us through the park, enhancing our overall experience. In conclusion, Dhauladhar Nature Park is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and animal lovers. Its cleanliness, diverse wildlife, well-planned walkways, and attentive staff make it an ideal place to reconnect with nature and enjoy a day of tranquility. Rugved and I left the park with hearts full of fond memories and a deep appreciation for the efforts made to maintain this natural sanctuary.

Gopalpur Zoo is another mountainous zoo located in the district of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh and is a much-preferred travel destination for your kids. Giving you an authentic insight into the natural habitat of Himalayan animals, it’ll also serve you with a refreshing view and a breath-taking experience. It’s surrounded by the Dhauladhar range of Himalayas capped with snow which acts as another scenic beauty while you take a calm, leisurely walk in the park. The animals include the Himalayan black bear, Asiatic lion, red fox, leopards, musk deer and so on. The best time to visit this zoo are the months of autumn when flora and fauna are in their best condition.

I had nice experience here You need atleast 2 hours to visit all the zoo as it's very big in size. You can see different animal species here. The list of main attraction is given below: Asiatic lion (I have seen here first time in reality) Leopard, Himalayan Griffon Vultures, (world's highest flying vultures, so big in size, I was so amazed to see them) Black Kite, different kinds of birds, Himalayan Black Bear, Antelopes, Tortoises, Wild Pigs, Wild Boars, Sambhar Deers, Barking Deers, Himalayan Goral etc. You have to go on foot. You even get chance to see some animals very closely. Moreover the fare is very less. If you're visiting Kangra you should visit the place.

What is the point of having a zoo..when it's closed on Sunday and all the public holidays. That are the only days when school going kids or working people can plan to visit. Decided to visit on Gurunanak jayanti after checking on Google that it's open. But were disappointed on reaching the place to find it closed on gazetted holidays. Please do something about it so that the locals can admire the beauty of it without having to take a day off .

Ticket for adults is RS 50, it's too much.It should not be more than 20. Items of zoo are limited. But it's full of natural beauty.

Place is quite nice and peaceful but the whole idea of zoo is very cruel for me. It really hurts seeing animals locked in a small cage with no space to run to prey . The conditions of the animals is not great .

It's is a beautiful zoo, we went on weekend and there was very less crowd and that was a major plus. There are decent number of animals to see and well maintained.

The zoo is awesome new lions are brought who are kept nicely lot of animals are there. No animal is harmed and they all are cared too much by the workers of zoo. The place is nice , the scene of dhauladhar range is too much good . The temperature is also cool. I recommend must visit there once.

Zoo is too big I'll suggest that they should run a E Riksha service, or Horse ride also inside. So all age people can enjoy.
