Visited this Zoological Garden with family of a friend, having small kids, who enjoyed their trip thoroughly. Even if few of the cages were empty, they still have good number of wildlife for keeping the youngsters busy. Sharing some interesting photos.

It will hardly take 30 mins from secto 17 to the zoo. There is no plastic allowed inside the zoo and staff is really helpful in providing paper bags and guiding you with the rules. They even have a token system through which you can take the plastic bottle by paying 30 rs and once you return they will give back the 30 rs. There are limited animals in the zoo but they have covered the majority of the animals including elephant, tiger, leopard, lion, hyena etc. Apart from animals, there is a bird park, snake park and dinosaur park. Bird park and dinosaur park are really good but the snake park is quite small with limited species. If you go to the zoo, do go for a lion Safari. There will take you in a bus inside the jungle and you can see two big lions and multiple peacocks in the Safari. It's a big park so if you can't walk for so long it's better to take a car ride. You can get off the ride to any place in the zoo, spend some time and then get on the next ride. The frequency is nice and you won't have to wait at all for the ride. The place is not very crowded and a very nice experience for kids and adults. I would recommend this place for families and dinosaur park will definitely surprise you.

The zoo is well planned. You doesn't have to walk long cause enclosure's are near. Almost all the species are there. There are battery buses for the people who doesn't like to walk the charges are Rs 60/- pp. A cafeteria is there inside the zoo to enjoy your favorite snack. There is a Dinosaur park depicting their period, types of species etc.

This place is amazing. I have travelled a bit and been to many Zoos in and outside India and can comfortably say this one is in top 3. Absolutely clean and well maintained place. Dinosaur Park was so much fun. I could see animals were kept with care. As of this date , lion safari, reptile park canteen etc is closed due to covid impact. But i still loved every minute and will go again with my kid. Prefer ferry if going with younger kids as its quite big area wise. Totally recommended 👍🏻.

Dino park was an amazing experience with family and also few animals are outside that day so can't see them all only see birds of different species, emo, flamingos, and ostrich really active. Overall the best place to spend 3-4 hrs peacefully and green environment.

This is chatt bir zoo located in zirakpur area.Its easy to go here , can go by sharing vehicle and its outside the city ,for college and school students you can go there and they charge little or no amount for students and for others it was about ₹ 60 when I visited there in March 2019 and its good to go place,kids will really enjoy there, tiger,lion hippopotamus and emu and many more animals can be found here, white peacock and different types of monkeys are also here. Its near Air force station. Bus and paid services are there for roaming around here and one can go by walking as well, it will take around 1-1:30 minutes to go around and have a quick look over zoo and you would love this place,Here are some of the pics that I've added.

Nice place to visit in Chandigarh. My family enjoyed a lot during visit, especially children's was quite happy. Best part electric vehicle was available on rent for tour of park was a add on. Food facilities also available and can spend a quite time with along with the family. Recommend to visit.

Chhatbir Zoo, is a zoological park situated close to Zirakpur, India. The entry ticket for adults is 100rs and for kids 50rs. The best experience is lion safari which is for 15 minutes at price of 75rs. The zoo is well maintained. Many wild animals can be found in the area. There are many water and bird species. Dinosaur park is good which contains models of different dinosaurs which move a little bit. There is a separate place for big birds which is quite amazing as birds are free to move in that particular area. Reptile house is good but there are less species. There is canteen at every 5 minute’s walking. Overall a great place to spend a day with kids and it will usually take you 3-5 hours easily.

One of the largest zoo in tricity with so many species of animals and birds. Chattbir Zoo is spread in a wide area and is open from 9am to 6pm. We paid 100rs for adult ticket and 50rs for child ticket each. There is a long queue for safari on weekends so better to go on weekdays. Multiple vendors for eatery are available inside the zoo area. Parking space is also good which is a concern these days. A good spot for children if weather is not hot.

Nice place to see the Lion Safari and other animals. The dynasouras park is amazing. Maintenance is a bit low as compared to its income.

Generally it will be crowded on holidays and weekends. It has a royal bengal tiger, white tiger, hippo, elephants, reptiles and different types of birds. Inside the zoo, one dinosaur park is available. Battery vehicles are available which will drop visitors at various points, for which they will charge 60/- per person. I also saw that some families engaged exclusive battery vehicles. If u reach early, you park vehicles inside the gate, otherwise you may have to park around 300 metres before the park. Best time to see animals actively is in the morning around 9-10, and evening 3-5.

Great place for outing. If you are interested in animals then it is great place to visit. Make sure you do not carry any plastic wrappers like chips packets as they will transfer the food from plastic packets to paper bags . So carry accordingly. Ticket for adult is 100 rs. Timings are up till 5 pm in the evening. Make sure you visit the zoo in the morning or noon as they shut down visiting time for birds and nocturnal animals and birds till 4 pm in the evening. One addition to the zoo is the dinosaur section which is quite interesting. Make sure to carry enough liquids and sports shoes as you have to walk a quite long or else you can rent out cars there.

I visited for the 1st time in any Zoo, so this was a very fabulous experience for me. I enjoyed it a lot. The zoo is very clean and well maintained. Even after too much of a crowd on Sunday I was able to see Animals, Birds etc. properly. If you are nearby you must visit there once.

The area of the zoo is quite big and is perfect for taking the kids to visit the animals or a family day out. But the place is poorly maintained, the washrooms are a big no. The canteen items are limited and average in taste. So it is suggested to take your own lunch and snacks. There is a lot of space to sit and have lunch. The dinosaur park is quite a good spot, best for children and for you too if you want to see something new. The safari ride is way too quick , the speed of the van as well as the whole experience is quick. There are few lionesses and a lion that could be easily spotted, the rest is full of rein deer and deer. Use the cart service when with kids. If you are visiting from Chandigarh, you can take bus no. 79 which en route from PGI to Chattbir via zirakpur and vice versa with a gap of around 1.5 hours. The fare is very reasonable.

Kufri zoo is a good place to visit with your famiky and friend if you are going to visit kufri. Add this place to your travel list. Awesome place to visit.. there are healthy animals.. tiger is the main attraction her. Especially the royal bengal tiger. Also after lockdown the zoo is opened with too much precaution which is good thing.. But there are few animals missing here.. may be they died or some other issue.. currently the deer and lion safari is not open due to covid situation.. also reptiles are not opened.. But many beautiful birds nad animals are there.. farry rides are also available for visiters.. ticket bookings are available online as well. It's good option as you don't have to wait in long queue.. Birds are available in large variety.. there are leopards and jaguars too which are quite healthy. There are canteens too where food and drinkables are available.. so no need to carry food with you. There are visiters shelter too where you can rest if you are tired by walking.. there are ferry stations. The drivers pick and drop you at your ferry stations.. The ticket price is available on there websites.. So overall it is good place for adults and especially for children as they enjoy watching different varieties of animals and birds.. the place is covered with lust green forests so that you feel the fresh breeze.. you can find some nilghai outside in the jungles too. Hoping that the reptiles section and safari section opens too and little more missing animals upgraded.. cheers..

It's can't be called a full fledged tiger safari. There are only 2 Royal Bengal Tigers. You can see a Black Beer, some Black Buck, some Stags, some deers and lot of peacocks and peahen. It's good to visit casually. But still the sceneries are amazing. A cafeteria should be opened here.

It was good experience. I found guidance from the sign boards very helpful. No confusing while roaming. Personally, I found Birds' section were peaceful. Dinosaurs' section was very cool. Kids will enjoy here lot. Ticket price is Rs 100. Do keep in mind the following: PAYMENT BY CASH NOT ACCEPTABLE. UPI AND CARD ARE ACCEPTABLE. MONDAY CLOSED. CLOSING TIME 17:00 Some things that I don't liked: There was no food available. I found only 2 canteens in such a big area and that too were closed. That's a big disappointment. You have to walk a lot. If you are in old age, I suggest you to take buggy. Price Rs 500 for 6 people, Rs 1200 for 12 people. Lion and deer safari was closed. Probably due to COVID. Reptile section was also closed.

Amazing ZOO... A well maintained zoo. Jungle safari was awesome. There are lot of animals like tiger 🐅 lion🦁 bear 🐻 deer 🦌 crawling snake 🐍 lot of birds like peacock, duck 🦆 etc.. There is a seperate dinosaur 🦖🦕 museum for children . Try to visit in early morning as two to three hours are required to see the whole zoo. Bags are checked at the entrance. They provide us paper bags to empty the contents of chips packets we are carrying with us . You should definitely visit the zoo once.

Well maintained zoo. Most animals, birds, and reptiles are available there.Ticket price for Adult 100 and Kids below 12, 50/- only. Only two refreshment shops are available inside the zoo. You can opt for a car or toy train inside the zoo with nominal fare. You can go to have a picnic there. On weekends, you might face a parking issue. If you go with your own food items it will be good. Polythene is strictly banned inside the zoo, checked on entrance.

Visited Chatbir Zoo recently and was surprised by the bustling crowd. I didn't anticipate such a large turnout. Fortunately, ample parking alleviated any concerns, and the zoo's vast size ensured the crowd didn't feel overwhelming. The zoo is exceptionally well-maintained, and I particularly enjoyed the Lion Safari. They transport you in a mini-bus, stopping where lions are present. The Dinosaur Park inside the zoo is a great attraction for kids. Given the zoo's considerable size, I recommend arriving early to fully explore it—it's worth dedicating 2-3 hours for a comprehensive visit.

When you want to show animals to ur kids. Be there. It's a very good place. Only thing u need to remember that carry ur food.. also packets and one time plastic is not allowed in zoo.. so carry edibles in boxes.

This zoo is so amazing, a large variety of animals are there including ivory, reptiles house, magnificent cave and lion and deer safari. Ivory is very beautiful which I loved. Do visit with your children they will love it. And there are food shops inside toilets are also there.

It was a good experience. Although most of the portions of the zoo were closed due to some reasons but still there were a lot of animals and birds. The environment is good but the fary charges are bit high. Overall, I can say one can choose it as a picnic spot.

Very good place to visit near Chandigarh you can see tiger, leopard, panther, fox, crocodile, deer, hippopotamus, bear and many other kind me animals and birds. That was a nice place to visit on weekends. Please make sure u have enough time to spend there. In summer you can plan picnics party. There is not a single good eating point inside the zoo. Two places available inside for eatings and they have just patty, cold drinks, water, sandwiches and ice creams. U can also take your own food with yourself. It is allowed inside the zoo. Don't throw anything on any of the animals. Don't give anything to eat to animals. For under 12 kids ticket price is 40 and for above ticket price is 80. Use minimum plastic bottles there. Help them in cleaning and making the place clean. You can also book rental car ride. One more thing you can book tickets online.

Overall it was a nice trip. Can be improved while entering with bit information or brief about Zoo (Like Lion safari another service inside Zoo) and it's facilities. Eateries quality is not as per charges, especially recommend not to buy tea @20/- better you go for verka milk @25/- :)

Everything good except jungle safari. Jungle safari bus is too closed, need to have something like jeep safari experience. Also its closes by 5 pm so make sure you go early, it will take 2-3 hours easily to cover all the zoo.

A very well maintained zoo was highly impressed to the business of thr lion safari and deer safari after the entry fee was a bit shocking. But overall the zoo was very nice all healthy animals. Few empty enclosures which should be filled.

Awesome place. We went with family in Winters and everyone enjoyed. They have electric car facility and its very convenient. Very nicely maintained. However, to see lions and deers, you have to pay extra for the Safari which i did not like. They should include Lions too.

We had a great time at Chattbir Zoo. This zoo is one of the biggest zoo of North India. You can see different animals and species. Main attraction of zoo is Lion Safari. For this you purchase a ticket for safari and then board a mini bus ( around 20 people accomodate in that). Then the bus take u for Lion Safari and Deer Safari. You can spend a whole day in Chatt Zoo. Better purchase ticket of battery operated rickshaw.

Giving one star because I drove 70 kilometres with my family for this and suddenly I came to know from the authorities that the zoo is closed since March 18, whereas on google it shows open. This is really frustrating experience.

Very good zoo to spend time with family or kids on a holiday. It's closed on every Monday. You must visit the reptiles section first as it is closed nearly 15 minutes before 5 PM. The place very popular as a tourist place but its not much worth visit as other places in the city. Even though the ticket is not much expensive, the traveling expense is too much. The fauna available is not satisfactory as claimed by them. If u want a place for Photography and a small walk around the jungles with your family, then it is not a problem, but if ur animal geeky, and want to observe new species, then this is not a place for you. But the environment and cozy air is one the best feeling you may experience.

It was my worst experience when i visited in this zoo because there was not any animal beside one tiger and to see this tiger they charge extra 50 rs rather than entrance fee moreover the area was so messy where people walk to see animals and according to my view it's just a waste of money.

The main attraction of this place is tiger and jaguar. Going for lion safari in school bus inside the zoo for 5 minutes is not worth visiting. Nice place for family picnic. A kids park kind of thing having a dianosour skeleton at entry gate is under construction and the birds section is closed completely (Feb 2021) Parking is big and spacious Ticket Price Rs. 80 adult and Rs 40 kids There are long queues outside the counter so it's better to buy tickets online. Nice places to visit with friends & family. At Jan 2021 in there they only accept online payment in ticket counters. Also in these month to many things close like Birds Area, Reptiles House, some canteen area etc. All over the experience is nice.

If you are an animal lover this place is must visit for you. Zoo is very large and have different species of animals. There are internal bus services which can reduces your walking. This zoo is open type i.e. they do not have cages, you can view the animals directly (offcourse they have mechanism for safety). White Tiger was my favourite during our visit.

Very well organized zoo to be with your kids. It's very sanitized with no littering here and there. Animal and bird cages and spaces are well maintained, all animals were looking quite sound and healthy, which shows the staff takes good care of them. One of the best features is battery operated vehicles which can accommodate more than 15 persons at a time, it doesn't let you get tired as you can board any of such vehicles once you have paid for it at the entrance. They will provide you a hand band which signifies that you are eligible to sit in any battery operated vehicle and enjoy the different sections of the zoo. A ot of variety is there animals, birds, mammals, reptiles all are very nice to watch. Must visit place, your kids and family will relish it.

Excellent place for a family day outing. The parking is avalaiable and your vehicles are no longer allowed inside. But the electric vehicles inside work on basis of hop on hop off so you don’t have to wait for the crowd to start. Since weather is nice the animals are outside. Don’t visit in June most of them will be safely inside their holes.

One of the biggest zoo of India. Every time huge footfall can be seen. Entry ticket of per head is about 75 rupees. Additionally, sharing open vehicles are also available to see the entire area since it is not possible to cover this large and big place on foot. Furthermore, jungle safari/lion safari can be enjoyed through their buses at extra cost. Some canteens or tea shops are inside the wall of this place. Drinking water taps, sitting areas and restrooms are there. On the other hand, Car parking lots are really bad and insecure for your cars because they haven't even made cemented floor for parking and there is no boundry to protect the vehicles. However, people still go by their own cars and carelessly enjoy. Whereas, frequent local bus service always available. Special note: Zoo remain closed on every Thursday.

The place is well maintained and there you can see varieties of species. It was for the first time that I saw a musk dear and a vulture. There is also animals like cheeta, wild cat and bear. You won't see any lions or puma here (thank god) . Also this will be my last time visit to a zoo here. Because I support wildlife back to wild. As I feel it is very bad for the animals being captured and seperated from their family and held quarantine. We humans should be able to live and let live. They are taken away from their life they are supposed to have. And held in cakes. This is bad and we should not appreciate it. I suugest you not to visit this place, that's the least which u can do. One can also ride on e - rickshaw( paid extra). You can carry snacks, water bottles although there is a canteen inside. can book tickets online through website.

These days they have closed reptile house and owl, so no snakes. There are verly less animals left now. So I would not recommend visiting there to see animals. If you want a long walk or ride in the forest area then it is a nice place, but for animals I would not recommend going there. On weekends many people visit here. So too much crowd, traffic and no place for parking. They don't even allow taking your eatables with you and when you reach the canteen inside the zoo, you only have option to eat maggi. That's too bad. Overall walking area inside the zoo is 7 Km. Think twice before going there.

We visited after COVID lockdown restrictions were lifted, the canteen and food joints were still closed for operation. Bring your own food and lots of water, can easily spend 5-6 hours. The facilities could be better maintained. Kids still had a lot of fun. I would not recommend to go there on a summer afternoon as it gets really hot and hardly any shelters. Biggest bummer was the entry closes at 1600. If you are already inside you can stay until 1700. Tickets could be bought online easily.

I went to this zoo during winters. It’s a huge zoo with tons of animals. It is one of the best place to take kids. Highlight of this zoo is the Dino Park which is amazing. Dinosaur are robotic and does give the feel of real dinosaurs. There’s no entry without ticket. Theres small canteen where one can eat snacks. There’s also a paid cart service which will take you to the each section of the zoo. But I will recommend to walk and experience the wonder of this zoo and it’s amazing inhabitants. Good parking facilities is available.

Chhatbir Zoo (formally Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park), is a zoological park situated close to Zirakpur, India. The zoo was constructed in the 1970s and is home to a large variety of birds, mammals and reptiles.

Well the experience was not good at all ....yes it's summer time ... but there should be maintainance accordingly......water is basic necessity.... Water coolers should be working atleast...but no ...water was only available in canteen that too for 50 rs. Will you please let us know was it brought from Himalayas that you are charging 30 rs extra for a water bottle.....if the staff is bothered to take money for tickets ...they should also be bothered to provide facility to visitors. People are spending their money to have experience of zoo but it was more like a dessert safari instead of lion safari. Only the bird part was good. Kindly work upon your services as people are paying to visit. The visit was very disapointing.

Zoo is open now. I visited with my family on 12.12.2020. You will not see many animals because some parts of the zoo is still closed. It is better to have the option of phone pay or Google Pay etc. for tickets before going to the zoo.

It's a well maintained zoo. But at present very less animals to watch out.

Overall it is a very beautiful place. I have visited here 4 times in my life. Latest i visited this zoo on 29 December, 2020. It was a different experience from last three visits. This time i saw some new animals like birds were added but some thing's were not in the good situation. Like on some places the grass was not properly cut etc. Even their authorities were not maintaining the proper discipline. For example, i was standing in the queue at suddenly a man from behind came in front of me and i reported this to the officials of the zoo. But they didn't took any action. Moreover, there wasn't any water present for the thirsty people. It is very basic need of the human. So it should have been their for free. So, i request higher authorities of the zoo to take action in this matter.

Nice place, must visit. Verity of animals, birds. Most of sections are closed (Lion safari, reptiles, Owl any many more) as on date. Charge wise entry fee rs 80 for adult and 40 for 3-12 yrs child. Entry fee for Lion safari is extra. Cons Lion is not available outside to see. Most of sign board and display board are missing.

Estd is 1977, this is a Large Category Zoo spread over 505 acres and inhabiting 103 species and 1241 animals. We visited the zoo with children and it was a mice experience as kids enjoyed watching real animals and birds. The park is clean and spacious. There is paid facility of cart also to assist the elderly with seating capacity of 6 and 12 persons. Only one issue related to ticketing as there a long queues and no social distancing was observed. Also they don't accept cash and this adds to problem also.

Chhat bir zoo is one of the best Zoological parks I have visited. Very neat and clean with a good collection of animals. The park has some unique features such Tiger Safari, deer safari apart from nocturnal zone and reptilians. I got to visit recently the park has made ticketing digital and had temperature checks and sanitization in place. I liked the quick transformation to ensure safe visits. The place has electric cart facility 500/- for 6 people. Though when I visited much of bird enclosures, reptilians and tiger safary was closed due to bird flu precautions, please check before visiting. All in all a great get away.

It's ideally located at zirakpur around an hours drive from chandigarh. The best part is it has its own parking for a charge of mere 20 INR. Chattbir zoo is a nice place to have a family outing or a picnic. You can spend a full day enjoying the zoo and the seeing different animals in it. Its is very near to Aerocity road. It has food outlets for you to have food or snacks. The entry tickets are available on the spot but I would prefer you to book your tickets online which you help you to just walk into the zoo without any hustle. Even the parking can be paid online. You just need to show the transaction id and thats all. The best part of the zoo is Aviary which is a must watch. Overall an enjoyable place to go and I recommend for people looking for family picnic spot near Chandigarh, Panchkula or Mohali.

It's an awesome place to hangout with family and friends. The best part was that one can book the tickets online hassle-free. Walking around can be a bit tiring so do book the electric ferry. Although there is a canteen, would still suggest carrying snacks that can fill you. Have a great time!

Most eating outlets closed. Only 1 outlet was open for the complete zoo. That too was a complete mess with hungry people snatching food from the counter. 6. No animal signages. The whole zoo has a pretty decent number of animals but there are no signages explaining about the animal or the species. That makes the whole Zoo experience pretty useless.

Recent addition is the Aviary section, where a lot different bird species can be seen. Also addition of new tigers. Very big open space and also have lion Safari for jungle kind of feeling. The authorities must concern about the condition of that animals who are leaving there for their preservation.

You can spend 3 to 4 hours. Work is going on at some places. Ticket price for adult is Rs 80. Please book your tickets online before going there as there was no signal there and you might have to stand in long queue. I am sharing some pictures have a look. Parking is great.....

Probably a great place to visit on an off day. It's extremely large in size, and it would take atleast 3-4 hrs on foot, has large variety of animals, birds, nocturnal house, small aviary.also has rare animals in this region like hippo, tiger, white tiger, lions etc. Edibles are allowed but not in plastic. There are canteens at 2 places. Drinking water and washrooms are also at regular intervals. Very clean place and has decent foreign tourism as well. Only issue is transportation as it lies off the city, on outskirts.

My suggestion for all visiting this place is that go 400 mtrs towards right of entrance first to see the crocodiles in pond and then come back to proceed towards left side. You will come to know the reason at the end.

The entrance was superb and as we move further first we sawn different kind of monkeys🐒 they all were seeming upset due to boundaries or the weather, after that we visited tiger🐯 complex and hippo complex near it. Unfortunately the lion🦁 safari was closed that why we missed it. Later on we sawn the different cat breeds, bears, aviary, pheasant, deers, birds aviary, zebra and crocodiles. The most amazing part of the zoo was the dinosaur park, from the entry to exit we just can't want to miss anything it was very enjoyable. The thing we missed was lion and deer safari and the white tiger. May be next time we can see the white ones😅.

Renovation of Zoo is upto the mark. Now children can enjoy Dianasour Park with 3D effects..

Nice place to visit near city beautiful Chandigarh. Well maintained by the authority. Be prepared for long walk around 4kms if you are not taking electical car. Some of points were temp closed during my visit which was little disapponted.

After COVID this was our first outing, Chhatbir Zoo has added Dinosaurs Park inside and it’s truly an awesome experience. Many congratulations to all the residents of tricity for having such a great place to take your kids & family. Note: No cash is accepted for tickets, 9.30 am to 4 pm entry allowed, Monday closed. Must take battery operated kart if you are accompanying kids and older family members. Cons: Monkeys are not in good health at all, few places are not maintained well, the management has to take a serious note on this.

Merry go round place. Very affordable ticket price. Must visit place with family members. Highly recommend.

Too big too green.. thay gud but - Initial 12 cages are just monkey only... Already tortured by them. - Lack of cart services no cart or 1 cart for 100 people... Self created problem.. no canteen .. once you enter . U r in hell.. u can't come out.

A beautiful zoo which brings you close to nature. The walk is very peaceful, but there is no canteen, canteen is closed . Approx 15000 steps to cover the zoo which is a very long walk. There are places to rest but nothing to eat , so go prepared. Or you will starve. Get a ride if you have Old people with you. Coz the walk will be too much for them. Good parking. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to cover entire zoo on foot.

Entry fees of rs 100. Few sections are temporary closed. You will miss reptiles here. You can view variety of cats, monkeys, birds. Canteens are currently non operational so remember to take refreshments, fluids and water to stay hydrated. You can visit dino section which is still a good attraction. You can hire battery operated vehicles on hop in and hop out basis. Rs 500 for 6 people or even 12 person at marginally less.

Absolutely great experience, only one thing we didn't like while walking the path that there is no refrements along the way, we were so thirty because of walking few kilometres in the park. they should provide small refreshments stalls along the way, besides that experience was good. Lion Safari was closed, which was another disappointment.

Well maintained zoo. Good for kids. Ticket Rs 100 for above 12yo and Rs 50 below 12 yo. Around 4-5 km walking area.

This zoo is one the prime highlights of the Chandigarh. All of the exotic and novel animals can be seen live with proper precautions. Even the ambience and the facilities of the place are commendable. I recommend every person to visit this place to have one in a lifetime experience. P.S. the latest Jurassic Park is my personal favourite amenity. Do visit there to see T-rex and the moving Velociraptor.

Good place for kid's entertainment. It was super clean and maintained (may be COVID effect). You will be able to see many animals here like Hippo, Tiger, Leopard, Bear etc. Their aviary section is also good where you can see birds without any cage. If you want the tram service try to reach early, especially on weekends, otherwise there will long waiting period. There was no provision of food inside and the food plaza near the entrance is still in construction.

Crowded on Sunday...a good place to explore the knowledge of kids...old age persons and persons with health issue should avoid or take ferry to visit because visiting area is more than 5 km. A good range of birds are available. Besides this limited wild animals can seen easily in the afternoon of winter and must visit recently opened Dinosaur park

Good place to spend whole day. But most of animals in shelters you can't see all. Food places closed inside zoo. So carry your food with you. If are with kids you can carry prams, strollers and cycles for kids.

This is a good place to have picnic with family and kids. The entry fees for adults is Rs. 100 and Rs. 50 for kids between age of 3-12 Years. You can book a battery car for inside tour but it is subjected to availability. The Zoo is well maintained. Signs boards are everywhere so there is no need of any guide. New Dinosaur park is also open with no extra tickets. Drinking water points are available inside the park free of cost. You can bring food inside also as canteen was closed when we visited and there is no shop inside. Overall good experience in the lap of nature.

Very nice place to visit with family and friends but highly recommended to go early morning because if you plan to go after 12 pm it will be too crowded and too much traffic within range of 1km starting from Zoo. There are two parking recommended is to park your car, bike in the 1st parking which is 250M far from zoo that will help you to come out easily during peak traffic. Zoo is well maintained and animals are also well treated.

Dino park + white tiger + leopard + hippo + panther are main attraction. Monkey one and deer ones can be skipped. Lion safari being closed was a disappointment. No cafeteria was operational. Carry your own food and water. Ferry band is a must have.

A good place to spend your day if you've planned it well. The season, the time of the day you chose to visit will certainly impact your experience. We had a good experience this spring season, where we chose to spend our morning in the place, all the health checks were followed well. The eateries and canteens in between were closed, probably due to COVID else it was great.

Dragon place very attractive, some animals place good but there are not so much animals now. Food in food place expansive. And drinking water not available

A good zoo. We have been there multiple times, and I was most impressed by the fact that it's getting better with time. A few attractions like lion safari and reptile world were closed this time around. But my kids loved the dinosaur Parkthe most. The aviary was a good experience as well. Should definitely take your kids there. Clean washrooms were a big plus too. The canteens were closed, and they do not allow you to take any kind of plastic inside. So remember to take your eatables in either paper bags, or own containers. Bags are checked at the entrance. They provided us with paper bags to empty the contents of chips packets we were carrying with us.

The people who have already travelled to any other zoo, may not like to visit, because there is nothing different except few artificial dinosaurs, which looks attractive, no doubt. Tiger safari is something that everyone likes to experience, this time it was not allowed that embarassed us more.

Zoo is very good with facility of safari & visit with support to pick up vehicle . When visiting with family place take up pick up vehicle option it will save your energy . There are options of drinking water but ensure your bottle for drinking water. There are limited snack options available inside the zoo & that too with lot of waiting time so carry your own snack would be better option . Coming to zoo you have lot of animals inside . From crawling snake , lizard to birds - peacock , duck to wild animals like deer , cheetah , tiger etc . There is also a dinosaur museum for Childern. P.S.- Try avoiding going on weekend due to heavy rush .

Very well planned zoo near the city of Chandigarh ! Highly recommended for a weekend outing with family ! Do carry something to eat on your own as well as water as I do not recommend the zoo snacks bar plus it gets way to crowded there and u end up only having a dissatisfied tummy ! After travelling and waking for so long in the zoo ! Personally I recommend the walk by zoo options as u can explore more and it feels more connecting to the nature as such ! But they have a battery operated buggies too ! One who requires or is short on time can avail this ! I would suggest a full day for this place and that too in cloudy or winter time when u don’t have a direct sun light ! All in all a place where u can let the kids roam around for free that’s a joy to us parents ! Although be ready also to pacify them in the dinosaur park ! I nicely created park for the kids as well as the adults for having some insight towards our Jurassic history ! Was quite enlightening to see and experience it first time in our country ! Mainly u used to see this type of them parks in the foreign countries ! Hope they maintain it nicely and add more such themed parks will be a blessing for the little ones as they can learn by seeing so much ! All in all a very nice place made but hope they maintain it well ! That’s the important part ! It was nice to see some of the animals and birds have been adopted by local schools as well as organisations ! A good concept by the zoo authority ! One last advice they have a website one can buy the tickets online if u are travelling or visiting the place on weekends as there can be quite rush there ! I had booked online and the cost was 100₹ for per adult and 50₹ for kids per !

Visited the zoo on Sunday. It wasn't much crowded. I suggest buying buggy tickets as you can cover more without getting tired. Charges: Rs. 80 for 1 Highlights in zoo are: DINOSAUR PARK : mechanical models with sound of jurassic creatures. Reptile museum , Bird park.

Great experience. Kids loved it. Kids favourite was the dynasor park. Best thing was the bird section where we didn't watch the birds from outside the cage, rather we went inside the cage to be with the birds. The battery operated vehicle were a hit which saved much of our energy while going from one spot to another.

It is an awesome place for nature lovers.. You can indulge in greenery, peace and watch the rarely seen animals and birds. It is a very entertaining, exciting and informative place for kids and adults as well. Don't forget to bring water bottles to keep you hydrated.. Food is not good, so better to bring your own.

Went on a beautiful day, the animals were amazing, saw some I hadn't seen before and they have upgraded everything it is such an amazing zoo, all the upgrades make it so kid friendly is definately something you can do with family a date or by yourself.

It's a nice zoo having animals like deer ( of many type ), swans, white peacock, lion, tiger, wild buffalo, snakes of different type, elephants etc.. The price of 1 Adult person is 100Rs and 50Rs for 1 child below 12 years .

It is an excellent place to visit but only in good weather when animals are not hiding away from extreme summer heat. Maybe in each enclosure some shelter with the provision of artificial rain should be erected to encourage animals to stay there in hot weather so that visitors may see them. When we were half way through the zoo, heavy rain started. Rain Shelters were not enough to accommodate all the visitors. Even the roof of electric cars were leaking. Online booking of entry tickets is not dependable. I purchased four tickets online and paid for them by Credit Card. Money was deducted from my account but NO TICKETS were received. I tried to contact the authorities continuously on regular intervals on the contact number given in the website but no one answered my calls. Finally I lodged a complaint through an email. The next day we purchased new tickets from the ticket window by paying cash. While we were half through the zoo I received a call from some employee who later on returned the money for buying tickets. Overall it was a frustrating experience.

You can see all type of animals in this zoo but needs more maintenance and care when it comes to taking care of them crocodile 🐊 was not moving at all everyone around felt it was no more alive!!! It's a huge zoo one must definitely visit and see it

Chattbir Zoo... This is an adventures place where you get to see all the animals, you get to see the aquarium or dinosaur park with different species or the reptile section, food court and open safari also where you can see the lion openly. Yes, how it hunts? This was the best experience of my life and I even enjoyed it...
