Had a lovely experience of dining out here. Food is just yummy and the ambiance is super relaxing. The serene setup adjacent to a farm and the soft music that plays in the restaurant enhances the overall experience at the place. Price is also reasonable. Would certainly go there upon my return to Hampi.

A quite and nice place in the nature. Ambiance is peaceful and relaxing. Food is great. It’s buzzing with people in evening, though afternoons are slow. You can spend quality time there talking to family and friends, and spend a lazy afternoon. A nice experience. Don’t miss to try the place during your visit to Humpi.

We drove for 1 hour to reach the place. After reaching there we were told that it will take at least 2 hours to serve the food. We were denied a place to sit. Better to avoid this place. We were fooled by the good ratings of this place.

This place has shifted from the hippie island. Now it is situated at a road side and near a very silent place. But still the vibes are very good and the staff is courteous. Food was too good and I would suggest everyone to visit this place at least once for the food. Their Falafel and Pizza were too good. Fritters were average. Their lemon soda was also awesome. The ambience with dim lights and mattresses to sit on is also very cool. I would recommend everyone to visit this place.

I'd say its not a place you go to after a day long trek. The food was average. And the service was pathetic. They can't handle a group for 20 people in a go. Apart from that the vibe of the restaurant was great. It can be considered as place to do chillout when you aren't hungry.

A beautiful scenic view restaurant in Hampi. This is near to ajnadri temple. A great ambiance with pleasing seating arrangement this restaurant will make your hampi trip memorable. You will have both veg and non veg eating option here with great taste. At night, this place is more delightful and light.

I was not satisfied with food quality. Not at all hygienic place. 1st got hair in pizza, we have informed them, 2nd in noodles we got ant. Post that we were not feeling to have food at this place. Over opriced, hyped. M not sure why rating is 4.1. May be in past they were serving quality food. I had more expectations.

Had been for early dinner. Pizza was tasting weird and the crust was burnt- had stomach upset after eating here. Not recommended. Location and Ambience is great.

Food was average. Service was too slow. Supposedly they specialise in Pizzas. Curries were good in quantity and preparation but taste was average. The hospitality was good. The staff were polite and responsive. Little expensive due to the higher frequency of foreign nationals. Ambience resembles what you see in the better shacks of Goa.

Lovely restaurant! Our waiter was a very sweet, ever-smiling guy. The menu had soooo many options but surprisingly most cuisines turned out to taste great! We ordered pita and hummus which was fantastic, as was the Veg Sizzler (lip smacking). The mushroom enchiladas were also good, especially the tortilla it was rolled in! Looooved the ambience too! Will definitely come back!

Laughing Buddha is a fantastic place if you like to have beer with your 10 year old kid sitting beside you and if you want to go on a diet because the food will take ages to deliver. Sarcasm aside, i was really put off by the way the staff is so cool about serving alcohol to parents who bring their kids along. The food takes ages to deliver and the staff doesn't seem care about anything. When the food was finally served 50 mins after we ordered, one item was missing. The staff didn't bother to tell us why its missing and if we will get it later on (we didn't by the way). 1/5 - service 1/5 - ambience - I hope the management knows better than allowing kids 1/5 - Food 1/5 - overall cause i can't rate lower

Amazing place to chill. Service is not too swift but you won't be bothered. Order once and relax, it will come to you. Food is good. Not cheap. Not too costly. You have the view of Virupaksha Temple and the river. They have loads of cats on their property. You can lie down n do your own thing and nobody cares. Music is super trippy.

Laughing buddha restaurant is a fun place like its name, in between the banana plantations. A multi cuisine open air restaurant that serves you very delicious food and perfect place to rest after a long day. You can lay down and enjoy your favourite meal in the peaceful environment.

First of all, the service was not slow, it was slower than a tortoise. There was only one worker, and he seemed to leave and run a marathon before serving each meal. I don't even think they used real chicken, instead he brought some old bread and smooshed it together. The chips were at least 3 weeks old, and the fumes of smoke did not appetize me to eat.

Absolutely loved this place! The butter chicken was so good we ordered more before we finished the first one! Everything else was just as good! Great staff and lovely service.

We went to the laughing Buddha restaurant on new year's night with high expectations. Came back not impressed. While the vibe of the restaurant is pretty nice, the food was absolutely not good. Overpriced as well. Not one of the items we ordered was good. We tried a vegetarian pizza which was overloaded with cheese, an onion pakoda starter which was below average, rice, egg curry ( which was the only slightly ok tasting item). Overall, not worth the hype!

A very average restaurant. Built along the same hippie vibes as that of all other restaurants in and around Hampi. Food was very oily but decent. Nothing extraordinary. There are a lot of cafes along this stretch so might want to try other options as well.

You will be misguided by riverside snaps. Here is the fừll story- 1. Before Hampi got UNESCO world heritage badge, all restaurants including Laughing Buddha were allowed to function at riverside, along the shore of ‘Hampi Island’ or ‘Hippie Island’. 2. But after UNESCO badging, government came down on them and all such structures were demolished, taking away the also the breathtaking locations. 3. Now most of they are located a bit internally in the hippie island, they clearly look new and locations are far from photos on google reviews. About my recent visit to newly relocated restaurant - 1. Food was ordinary 2. Staff was very cordial and quick in service. 3. Ambience is more for a trendy young crowd. I would not recommend visiting with young children.

After govt demolished all hotels in hippie island, this place restarted in sanapur village.. though inside Ambience is good, I felt for 120 Rs I could get atleast a good amount of cappuccino.. It's not even like a full cup.. I got like half in the pic of cup I posted. Good place and small one.. Wish the govt didn't demolished the previous one.

The price doesn’t justify the quality! We ordered manchow soup, chicken 65, veg manchurian, egg fried rice, paneer kadai. Out of all this paneer kadai was ok. Rest all the items were not good in taste Also mosquitoes was a problem. You can try Sunny guest house which is close to this place.

My visit to Laughing Buddha Restaurant in Hampi was nothing short of a disaster. We endured an excruciating 2-hour wait for our food, with a lethargic staff showing little concern. The hype surrounding this place proved unwarranted, as the food lacked flavor and satisfaction. I strongly advise against dining here; it's a classic case of an overhyped establishment that failed to deliver on both service and taste. Never recommending this place to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience.

Ambiance changed my mood...It's awesome..food,service,quality,quantity it's good...especially Israel food... This people are not only good in serving best food but they do care of our belongings. As I forgot my purse with 5000 + cash and I came to check it after3 hrs....and they kept it safely in their custody...and everything was in my purse... Kind hearted sincere staff

If someone wants to sit back and relax this is the place in Hampi. You get a splendid environment and delicious food. The best part is that it's just beside the river and you enjoy the lovely sight of the grand Virupaksha temple. You may want to go back in times of Vijayanagar era and think about its rich history by looking at the river, the temple and the surrounding nature. A MUST VISIT place in Hampi !!!

This was the best cafe which we visited during our stay in Hampi. Visited other top reviewed restaurants too but this one is best in all aspects be it food be it service or the ambience. A nice view of Vittala temple with river and ferry boat is seen from this cafe. Almost all cafes in Hampi have sitting arrangement on the ground with small heighted tables, at least all which I visited. The food and the drinks are good. And yes they have rooms to stay also which are good too but they have only 6rooms so need to book early.

Best place to stay in hippy Island..i stayed here for one night in hut.. But main attraction is location of the cafe.. It is situated on the riverbank of tungabhadra. You can enjoy scenic view from here.. The Cafe siting style arrangements are in israeli style. Food is owesome here.. Specially hummus and pita and falafel.. Overall good stay. Graffities over the wall giving hippi vibes and felt very calm.. Like my review if it has helped..!

This is a really chilled out place in the Hippie island. You will have to walk a little inside from the main lane to reach here. The ambience is very relaxed and soothing. You have a nice view of the Tungabadhra River while you lie down in the comfortable seating arrangement. The food here is good too. This is a must visit cafe in Hippie island.

Nice place to relax and enjoy the view. Food is good. Suggest you should visit during non peak hours. Service is really slow if they get more customers at the same time. Otherwise It is a nice place.

View is excellent. You can just lay there for hours admiring the nice green fields. Food, stick to standard things, i tried the schnitzel and seemed that the chicken was a bit old.

I had a disappointing dining experience at this place. The pakoda was decent, but the fries were overly hard and crisp, which really affected the overall taste. The chicken sizzler was just okay, and the cost of all these items was unreasonably high. The quantity and quality didn't justify the prices. The ambiance was only okay. I won't be returning.

Was here for lunch. Ordered 2 pizza. Size is about 11 to 12 inch. Taste was good. However service is slow. Also there is no river next to the restaurant as shown in some photos

A nice place to stay in Hampi as it is off the busy mainroad and makes you feel like staying on a farm. The bamboo huts with a hammock in front of the entrance are authentic and if you're not worried about spiders and other animals crawling into the hut you might enjoy your stay. There is no hot water in the huts but for 40 Rupies you can get some from the kitchen. Before 8:30am! Well known loud nationalities are not taken in, but in the restaurant they can't bei avoided. The view to the temple from the cushions of this cosy place is priceless But as a nonsmoker hard to stay there in the afternoon as apparently all smokers of Hampi gather there. As local visitors or staff are having their parties until late night, sometimes with their squirky music until dawn and widely rumorous spitting activities from early morning on, your nights might be short. Food is ok, staff rather friendly. Unfortunately lots of litter on the way to the Laughing Buddha...

This guest house is ideal if you're looking for a pocket-friendly option. The rooms are just average. The best part about this guest house is its cafe. The view is amazing and food is delicious too. Friendly staff and lots of pets to kill time with.

Nothing more than Hype, the photos misguide you that it's near a river, but it's not. It's in the middle of a plantation. Looks like some 2 yrs before they were in front of the river but the gov has banned not sure about the reason behind. Also nothing great about food it's just okay. They allow people to smoke whether it's good to go or not it's up to you.

  • 2/5 Ashish P. 1 year ago on Google
We visited this place based on some youtube vlog recommendation. However, our visited turned out to be very disappointing. The service is damn slow. They require 60-90 mins preparation time per order. We saw most of the folks either leaving the place as the food preparation was taking too long or others who were just ordering fries which already early. Apart of this, the food quality is also below par. Also, this is not on hippie island. As per the locals, the hippie island has be demolished completely.

We went on a Long weekend Friday evening with few tables vacant and 2 of the mattress seating tables available. They were ok to offer our 2 kids separate seating while 4 adults separated. They had a pet cat Chiku who was roaming around friendly with people to snuggle near their laps and comfortably sleep. Veg Thukpa ordered was excellent and so was the grilled veg sandwich. The veg hummus, falafel platter was ok and veg margarita pizza was also ok. Egg Bhurji with chapatis was also ok. The place was hygienic, airy, clean basic toilets and offcourse in Sanapur area. We went on dark so didn't knew the surroundings. Music was fun, service was slow but smiling.

I have visited the restaurant by seeing the reviews. But there is no lake view or river view.its just a small restaurant with Mandi kind of seating. Food is good and the price per person is around 250 to 400 and attached to the menu for reference.I felt that it is over rated.

  • 3/5 Abilash.C.K N. 11 months ago on Google
Delicious foods, Thali was not to the mark as to expectations, not worthy. Else foods are of delicious. Had chapathi and chicken dishes. Sitting too in traditional style. Great ambience. Can improve lil bit with service and foods too. Parking a bit problems for more than 2 cars. Easy to locate.

Note: Hippie Island is shut down permanently, so all pics showing riverside are old. All restaurants have moved from riverside to interiors. It's a good place to relax, nice paddy fields and hill in view. Food is not that good. Can try juice or soft drink.

The place is now at a new location in the Hospet-Gangavati road. Right now it is not the best standard around that place. But given time can become a great place.

I first visited this cafe in 2017 when it was very close to the ferry point on the hippie island. Now it is on the Sanapur main road. The vibes of this cafe is the same as before. Enjoyed pita bread with hummus. Highly recommended for all hampi travellers.

  • 3/5 Chaitanya A. 1 year ago on Google
Looking at the reviews, visited this place for breakfast. Ordered some sandwiches. Probably the worst sandwich I’ve ever had. Overpriced like any other place in Hampi but others at least serve some quality stuff. They used a milk bread to make sandwich. They used a lot of Mayonnaise and very little cheese in their sandwich. Very disappointing.
