We have no idea how this restaurant has the reviews it does. We traveled all over Costa Rica for 2 weeks and this was the worst meal we had the entire time. We also traveled extensively for months through Southeast Asia and had a lot of authentic food - this was worse than we could have cooked at home. We ordered Tin Jo Special, Korean Chicken and Orange Chicken. All of the sauces were gelatinous and worse than you can buy from a jar in a supermarket in the US. The chicken dishes were barely fried, just soft, mushy breading covered in disgusting sauce. The kitchen didn’t even bother to sprinkle the orange chicken with sesame seeds. Seems to us like the restaurant is lazy, working off their good reviews they received years ago but doing nothing to upkeep them. Even the rice was poorly cooked, clumpy and cold. The drinks were good. The sangria was delicious and so was the tamarind soda. Also the decor was nice, and rooms with decor from different countries was creative. But as far as the food goes, trying to recreate dishes from so many countries well, can be difficult and this restaurant can’t do it. If you come to this area of town and are looking for a great, authentic place to eat, the Argentine place a street away is mind blowing by comparison.

The interior is super nice, the staff is super nice, but oh god that was the blandest Asian food I've had in my life. The cocktails were the best part, the sushi was okay but the rice could use more flavoring, and the Pad Thai definitely looked like Pad Thai but tasted nothing like it. At least they cared if we liked the food and why we weren't satisfied though, like I said the staff was nice, but the food was quite disappointing...

Really good food, but today they messed up badly on service. They sent food to one of 5 people first. Then took over an hour to bring the appetizers that should have arrived first. We talked to them about 4 times to check on the food and it still took forever. The first person had finished her food and was ordering dessert by the time our arrived. Very disappointed.

One of the best Asian restaurants in San Jose. They have a gluten free menu and a vegetarian one too. Perfect for my fellow vegans and celiacs like me! They even have separate dishes for the gluten free plates that come marked. We tried the gluten free vegan chapché, it was delicious and huge (American portions), pakora and vegan palak paneer were also very flavorful. 100% recommend and probably going back for more.

The menu has a lot of options, several of which are vegetarian, including main dishes and appetizers. The food was great, and the prices are affordable. We tried some wine and margaritas and they were pretty good ( they gave us the wine as a courtesy because of the dishes we ordered). There is no parking space directly in front of the place, but there is a cheap public parking a couple buildings away. Overall had a great experience, loved the place and would absolutely recommend it!

My partner and I went to Tin Jo not knowing what we were getting, and were embraced by dish after dish of allergen-aware, delicious fare, paired with excellent wine and cocktails. We loved Tin Jo so much, that on our upcoming return trip to Costa Rica we chose a hotel explicitly so that we could have dinner at Tin Jo. It's that good.

The restaurant was a breath of fresh air in the crazy central market of San Jose. The decor and overall atmosphere was very nice - they have different rooms themed - Chinese, japanese, indian.. we sat in the patio garden - lovely! The waitress was very nice and polite. The food was good! I wouldn't say amazing although the kids loved it! We were just comparing it to the real asian food. The overall experience was nice!

Spent a week in Costa Rica. And I'm vegan. This was the best place I ate all vacation. The vegan/vegetarian menu was amazing, so many choices made it hard to narrow down since all looked excellent. Got the king Pao tofu and was thoroughly satisfied. Our server gave us complimentary vegan ice cream which was also amazing. The decor of the restaurant was on point. The experience of the food didn’t reflect 50 years of mastery. Not the place for dumplings and killer cocktails, nonetheless a nice place in San Jose.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with cultural themes of different countries from Asia. The menu has lot of options ranging from Japanese to Indian traditional meals. The food was cooked well. I ordered the veggie fried rice. The food wasn’t that flavorful initially, but after adding salt & soy sauce the food was very delicious. There’s lots vegetarian options that can be made vegan upon request.

Overall this was a good experience and the food was really delicious - highly recommend the crispy rice dishes. The only downsides were we were put in a side room that was very hot and the lights weren’t turned on. We asked for the ac to be turned on but it wasn’t, and we asked for the lights to be turned on but were told they can’t be turned on because it was Wednesday, which was confusing.
