Disgusting food and service. The owner chastised me for daring to sit at a table with my bag of groceries that I had purchased at the adjoining grocery store that is literally connected to this glorified coffee shop. Because I hadn't ordered anything within the first minute of sitting at the table, the owner ran over to my table and yelled, "hey man, this is Blue Tile. This isn't H-E-B," as if I was unable to read the sign on the front door. Instead of saying something like "I'm sorry, we don't allow outside food here, would you like to try some of our comparable offerings," he immediately barked at me. Maybe I was the wrong persuasion (as appears to be the case with multiple other reviews)? Beats me. I have never experienced this kind of "service" at any other coffee restaurant, anywhere. This restaurant just lost a customer and hopefully other potential customers. As I was writing this review, the owner came back to say "I'm not going to tell you one more time, you need to buy something, or you need to leave." Wonderful customer service. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

So happy that I have quick access to Blue Tile Coffee. Here's the scoop: Location: It's on the bottom corner of the HEB at Heights, the apartment side which means parking is difficult on the street. However, it's simple and accessible to park in the garage and come down to the bottom level. Coffee: Absolutely amazing. It's sourced from Amaya Coffee roasters which is a solid bean. The owner and the barista are one which means that not only is the coffee top notch every time but the service runs smoothly because he's there working. From what I can tell, he's serious about Coffee, kind to staff, and warm to customers. I've had the chai tea as well as the Viet Coffee, both delightful. The woman behind the counter was kind enough to let me sample the Viet coffee when I was concerned about it being overly sweet as they normally are. I was pleasantly surprised at how incredibly balanced it was! Perfect in my humble opinion. Pastries: It is quite dangerous that I live close to these pastries. I believe they get them from Madame Moiselle, an authentic French bakery to die for. I've had the mochi muffin and the ham & cheese croissant, but addicting as they are well-balanced in flavor. The textures were spot on. I'm likely going to try everything at some point so look for me at the running loop to cancel it out. Atmosphere: The first time I went it, it was packed. Full house. The music was a bit loud that day and with the acoustics and people it was a bit much. Today when I went it was less busy, the music was soft and it was actually perfect for working/studying. I guarantee the apartments make it extra busy after 5 along with the grocery store. The decor is calming and simple. Which I appreciate. It's not trying to be anything other than a good coffee shop. From what I understand there are deep ties to Houston culture in the decor so perhaps a great question for the owner on a less busy day. Accessibility: There are ramps and accessible parking right by the coffee shop and access in the parking garage as mentioned earlier. The countertops are low and there are plenty of seating options and roll-up options. I will say the website is not fully accessible yet but hoping to see that change the more established they become. 10 out of 10, recommend. Happy to see them here.

Service was great and it's a really nice clean place. Location is perfect since it's next to HEB. Coffe was ok. Everyone was friendly and would definitely recommend. Will definitely keep getting everything I shop for groceries lol. Parking can be a hassle since it's usually full for HEB so you may have to park at the back and walk a bit.

I do NOT recommend this place. I got an attitude when I asked if they had sugar free syrups, The cashier told me that the closest thing was the honey cinnamon syrup and it was poured out of an old Coca-Cola looking bottle, not even measured AND it was NOT EVEN GOOD. The coffee was bitter. The “barista” was screaming/talking to costumers on the bar sitting area, like competing on who could be louder him or the espresso machine.

Had been wanting to check out this coffee shop. Came in and bought an iced vanilla latte. It was pretty good. Although I thought it was a bit small for the price. Next time I'll try other drinks. And it looks like they have good breakfast food. I like the layout and how it is decorated. There's a lot of room inside and it's nice and quiet. (Aug. 7)

One of the best shops in Houston run by a long-time vet of the local coffee scene. Great for getting work done, socializing or studying with fantastic pastries and tacos. I'm told the food menu will be expanding soon too. Super clean space, friendly service and tasty bean juice.

This place is great! It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of Joe according to some reviews, who drink so much coffee and have a very optimistic point of view on life, writing nothing but bad reviews. I have met some cool new people here, have had awesome conversations thanks to the lay out. Oh, and by the way they have great coffee that doesn’t taste like gas station coffee at all, but then again I haven’t had much gas coffee. Ask for Jonathan who is an extremely knowledgeable individual when it comes to coffee. He is native to Houston, passionate about coffee (hence the blue tile concept), and the nicest person you’ll ever meet. That is why he supports local artists and business owners by displaying their art and plants. Please don’t leave uninformed negative reviews for business owners doing really positive things for the community. Maybe also spend more than 30 minutes at a place before making a very uneducated opinion and feel the need to write a review about it. Be better!

Its the soft opening, but I’m already obsessed. The interior is super cute and chill. It seems like a great place to hang or get work done. I got the dirty chai latte, and I really liked it! I will definitely be back to try more, especially because it seems like they might be expanding their menu soon!

Loved this spot. It’s still in soft opening, but they still had enough options to satisfy. The house blend drip was delicious, and the pumpkin pie croissant was perfect. The caramel latte was also really good. The decor is super clean and minimal, and even on a rainy, gray day, it felt bright and welcoming. The photos on the wall were such an artful touch. 🤌 can’t wait to go back. It sure doesn’t hurt that they’re connected to one of the coolest HEBs in town either!

Clean comfortable coffee shop that has plenty of open space and seating. If West Elm decided to start serving coffee this is the decor that I would envision.

This is my absolute go-to for coffee and my morning croissant or breakfast tacos! Everything is so fresh and incredibly tasty! I come here several times a week and it’s fantastic every time! The service is top notch and it’s such a beautiful spot! The patio is perfect for the nice weather days here in Houston! If you’re looking for your next favorite local coffee spot, look no further!

Vibe- This is a nice coffee shop that’s fairly new off of Washington Avenue. It sits next to a HEB. There’s about 6 tables outside and about 7 tables inside. There’s also 2 bar areas and a couch and a few seats (near the couch) to sit at as well! Customer service- It was ok. Food/drinks- I got a hot matcha latte to start my visit and ended my visit with a hot chai tea latte, they were both delicious. Parking- So there are spots (about 10) right outside of the shop (parallel parking) on the side near the apartments across the way. There’s also a garage next to the shop that you can consider parking in :)

Great new addition. I enjoyed a smooth nitro cold brew. Staff were very friendly and clearly enthusiastic about their coffees (inviting me to try a few). Beautiful space that’s good for working and plenty of parking

i loved the atmosphere here ! ! the parking situation is a bit iffy but there is a garage that works right behind it. i came here to study and the atmosphere for it is perfect. it doesn’t have many outlets as far as i can tell which can be a turn off for students but still the place itself was rlly nice. the baristas were so helpful in helping me decided what to get (i got the iced matcha latte w a shot of espresso). good drink as well :D.

Excellent oat milk latte. Service was quick. I got my drink to go but it looked like a great place to sit and work for a while! Note- Parking is tough here given that it is attached H‑E‑B.
