Update
to
my
original
post
below:
I
received
a
call
from
John,
the
manager.
He
asked
how
I
was
doing.
No
pressure
sales
talk
(thank
you).
He
was
most
concerned
about
my
health
than
anything
else
(again
thank
you
π).
I
explained
my
reasons
for
my
review
in
hopes
he
would
understand
where
I
was
coming
from.
To
much
sales
talk
&
not
enough
personal
workout
interest
(for
me).
I
think
he
got
it.
I
changed
my
stars
from
2
βοΈ
(that
was
pretty
harsh
I
admit)
to
3βοΈ
because
the
club
is
a
good
place
to
workout,
especially
for
the
locals,
it's
clean
&
has
adequate
equipment.
I'll
consider
a
4
or
5
star
down
the
road,
should
I
decide
to
join.
Original:
I
was
really
excited
to
see
what
they
had
to
offer.
I
was
asked
to
come
in
comfortable
clothes
(thinking
maybe
I'd
try
out
a
machine
or
two)
&
have
my
"why"
(reason/s
for
joining)
list.
I
was
graciously
greeted
by
the
co-owner
&
explained
I
was
early
&
I
had
an
appointment
with
the
manager.
He
alerted
the
manager,
who
was
currently
with
a
customer,
offered
me
a
chair
in
the
lobby
&
a
card
to
complete
while
I
waited.
Well,
things
didn't
go
as
I
had
hoped.
The
manager,
John,
caught
up
with
me
as
I
was
working
on
filling
out
the
card.
I
wasn't
done,
but
he
took
it
anyway.
He
asked
if
I
wanted
to
chat
1st
or
take
a
walk
thru,
I
said
you
pick.
We
took
a
walk
thru.
A
nice
selection
of
equipment,
treadmills,
ellipticals,
bikes,
free
weights,
floor
area
for
group
workouts,
all
the
things
you'd
find
in
a
gym.
But
he
never
asked
if
I
wanted
to
try
anything.
(Why
was
I
asked
to
come
in
comfy
clothes?)
We
headed
to
the
office
to
chat.
I
was
never
asked
my
"why"
(what
happened
to
all
the
excitement
that
was
initiated
in
the
email?)
The
focus
of
our
conversation
was
all
about
pricing.
I
needed
to
commit
to
a
full
year
(no
6
month
or
3
month
memberships),
it's
extra
for
working
with
a
trainer
plus
a
fee
for
the
key.
I
wanted
to
ask
about
the
7
day
free
trial
mentioned
on
the
website,
but
forgot.
I
mentioned
I'd
like
to
chat
a
minute
with
one
of
the
trainers
who
was
on-site
today,
but
was
told
I
couldn't
(really?
Perhaps
he
was
busy
with
a
customer?)
In
the
end,
I
didn't
really
feel
excited
about
working
out
there.
I
needed
a
little
more
personal
interest
coming
from
the
manager.
At
least
for
me,
at
this
time
in
my
fitness
journey.
Maybe
another
time,
maybe.
