What a great night! Don't be afraid from the outside, it's the inner spirit that really counts! Live music (The Mighty Orq’s #FridayEve 😎) completely mixed people in a great mood, dancing and shouting together, combined with cool drinks and a very personal bartender really made my day. Thank you very much!

Incredible evening. Great atmosphere and great music. The Mighty Orq on Thursday nights is like the eminem of blues! He played scales and chords I've not heard before. Great place if you love live music!

If you want to hear authentic Houston Blues Music come right on in. The owner Thom runs a fine establishment. Strong drinks, eclectic crowd, world class artists, open dance floor, 2 pool tables, outdoor patio, grill masters on select weekends, this is a hidden gem.

So glad to see this awesome place for live dance and music is open again! Cover for weekends is worth it. Most Thursdays have no cover.

Had the best birthday ever. Stumbled upon this hidden treasure... original plan was Scott Gertner. NO Regrets... Mature crowd... laid back..great drinks.. even has a dance floor if you want to cut a few steps.the live entertainment was amazing. I felt like the $10.00 charge for that kind of atmosphere and entertainment was way to low.. the entertainer was EVERLYN RUBIO...her vocals and saxophone playing was amazing...the entire band who was given a chance to individually showcase their talents was off the hook..so much talent was on that platform. thanks to the staff and entertainment for making my birthday a memorable evening.

Very little parking and the dancing floor was tiny! The music was good, and that's the only reason they received 2 Stars. Real and True Dancers would love the music, but it's way, way too tiny to enjoy ourselves! Great talent plays there, but it's just a terrible place!!!

My favorite dive bar for live blues, blues-rock, and zydeco in Houston. Located in a very gentrified area not far from posh Rice University on busy Kirby Drive, it's amazing this place is still there (it very nearly had to close down permanently due to Covid), but "Friends of The Big Easy" helped out and thankfully it got back to doing what it does best: hosting fantastic live music in a no-frills, friendly setting. I make it a point to go every time I'm in Houston, often arriving there straight from the airport. Small cover on weekends but free all other nights. "Houston Blues Society" hosts a monthly blues jam and there's another weekly blues jam / open mic night that attracts a lot of talented musicians. Thankful places like this still exist. Go out and support live, local music and musicians, and the venues that host them. Highly recommended!

This is a great place have a good craft beer or even the regular stuff, they make one hell of a drink and always good live music. The blues is their game and the Big Easy is their name. Bartenders are always nice and the owner is typically there on nights when they have music he's one cool cat. They make you feel right at home and the dance floor is typically hoppin. Go pay them a visit, you won't regret it.

Met some friends one Saturday night. Small place but the music is on point. If you like jazz, some blues maybe this is the place to be. Pool tables, full stocked bar. Great staff, friendly people. Parking lot is really small so you'll have to get there early or park down the block or across the street.

I came in here for the first time today and it wasn't very busy so I got to the bar to order a drink, but by the time the bartender got to me some girl came up to the spot near me and as soon as the bartender so her, he went straight to her and ignored me even though I was there way before her. I hate when that happens. But whatever, so I went to the other part of the bar where the other bartender just finished serving a customer and wasn't doing anything. I came up to him and he looked at me and just walked away to clean tables. Just like that. There was no other bartender to order a drink from so I just didn't. Not sure why this happened but that wasn't cool.

Place doesn’t look like much, but it’s all about the live music. The music has always been really good blues music. I am a fan and will come again.

Always a fun place for the blues and other live music. The crowd is diverse and the drinks are a fair price.

😐 Drove down to Houston from Tennessee to celebrate NYE here. We bought $100 VIP tickets in advance, it still took about 1.5 hour to get in. Valet parking is a must because finding parking is impossible. Valet parking was $40. We had an okay time, I thought the DJ sucked.

😠 As soon as you walk in the place smells like old moldy cheese. I don’t care how cheap the entrance is, it’s not worth the price. It’s not BYOB and the 6 beer buckets are $100. Don’t care how much money you have that’s highway robbery for a bucket of beer. Also, the dancers don’t act like they want t...
