Club is shut down again for the second time. This club used to be known as club Heaven and after a fire there they closed down, remodeled and reopened under a new name as South Beach in the early 2000's. This club was the best dance high energy club ever. Then years after being so popular, the music died. Literally. The music started to sour. They started to allow 18 year old(kids) in the club which was clearly a mistake. It should have been left as a 21 and up club only. These youngsters are immature and irresponsible and drove us older dedicated fans away. Their staff was phenomenal but they hired some uncaring and undeniably rude bar tenders. As of a result even on Saturday nights the club was empty. People started going elsewhere. No more long lines wrapped around this building. Sometimes no lines at all you know that there was no point in going in even if it was free. South Beach then quickly became primarily a club for drag queen shows then over time the club was just a drag. The music died, the excitement died. The fans went elsewhere or simply stopped going to South Beach. The building itself is an inviting and magnificent structure. It just needs to go back to days of old when the DJ's there were like God's while angels and demons had many nights of dance and decadence together on the dance floor!

Hands down the best gay club in houston tx might I say even Texas.

Great night club! Free entry. Drinks were fair price. Bought 2 Vodka sodas for about $10.00 each and a bottle of water for about $4.00. The whole place is large and spacious. It is very clean. There are lasers and lights that go along with the music to make the scenery more live! Bartenders were very kind and helpful. The music was mostly house/electronic with some classic remixes. Dance floor was a bit empty initially, but definitely starts to get packed around 11:30 to 12:00. Will likely come here again in the future! Parking outside is relatively easy for a $10 fee. Along with the parking, we were also given a coupon for a free drink at a nearby bar that I redeemed prior to entering.

First time I came here at his bar during New Year 2023 Celebration. Entrance fee was $20 it was ok I understand because it was important business during the New Year and I support good LGBT Bars which I paid no problem 😇👍🏼 And the place was very interesting and very exotic because I never seen other LGBT Bar that looks very fun environment of songs, lights, male exotic (stippers) and very big place inside 😱 Not very social in person due I’m very shy at least I enjoyed this place and I wanted to dance but OMG I was very shy that day 😂😅 I hope I can come back here again 😊

This was my first HTX Night club experience. I went with a friend to go enjoy some GREAT dance music and Amazing lazer light show. The vibes was a positive, fun, party type atmosphere. I never felt unsafe. My bartender was never rude. He was friendly, laughed with us and gave good service. I can definitely see myself going back again.

I've been coming here since I was 18 and never have had a problem, I honestly loved coming here for their events on the weekend. But last weekend I went to go try see one of my favorite drag queens perform and this is what happened... Me and my friend got there around 945 because it's free before 10. Well my friend brought her expired card by accident and the one that wasn't expired was in the car so we had to go back and get it because they "couldn't accept it"... Which honestly shouldn't be a big deal since most places only check the DOB... Anyways it quite a walk from the club, back to the car, and the club again. By the time we got back it was after 10 and they wanted us to pay $20 even though they saw we were there before 10. I'll keep this message PG by saying getting attitude from the rude cashier lady and management didn't help me not want to go back again. Like I said it's fun to go to their events on the weekend but they need better customer service up front... Once you get inside it's ok. We ended up not even going cause we didn't have $40 just to get in... Which is ridiculous... But I'll give this place another chance though, only because I've been going for years.

HORRIBLE PLACE. I GOT PUNCHED IN THE RIGHT EYE IN THIS PLACE. A black guy bumped into me and punched me out of no reason. Went to the security but they didn’t budge. Its been three days now and I’m about to loose my eyesight.

Four years and this is the best you can do with the music!!! Added VIP sections on the actual dance floor doesn't enhance the experience, it made the dance floor crowded and dangerous cause some people to trip over the rope or almost get into fights with other.

Good atmosphere. Good music. You ain’t gonna find the love of your life there but if you’re looking for fun, all good. Worst part is SOME of the bartenders. D bags with no looks or personality to back it up. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Free entry before 10 and cheap drinks (vodka pineapple for around $6.50). DJ Joe Ross plays great music and it's very loud (in a good way)! Loved it!

This place is amazing. The drinks are really good and the bartenders are so nice. I have only had one bad experience with a rude bartender but have not dealt with him since. They have amazing performances and cute dancers. Management is awesome here. Also the restrooms have always been clean when I used them. Which surprises me.

My friends and I tried to go here last night. We didn’t know that it was valet only in their parking lot for that night and so we had parked. A man from the valet service came up to us to inform us of it and was extremely rude and unkind to us over it. We had no problem parking elsewhere, and after he was done being passive aggressive repeating ‘yeah, you guys cannot park here. This is valet only. Y’all can’t park here’ over and over despite us saving ‘Oh, we’re sorry’ and being on our way back to the car a good half the time he was talking, we felt really uncomfortable and ended up not going at all. We were really excited to go here and check it out and it was a bummer to feel so unwelcomed over such a small mistake on our part. I know this is a separate service from the club, and I’m really only putting this on here so South Beach is aware of how the service they hired is treating people. If they were that way to us over it for no reason, I’m sure they’ve been that way with others.

This is the place to be in Houston! This club has been a staple in the LGBTQ+ community in HTown! From the lights to the drinks, this place is awesome! The management is awesome and the staff is excellent! Upon entering a lovely young lady (I believe her name is Mary) was so warm and welcoming, I knew I was just in for a treat. The bartenders and the rest of the staff were excellent and I look forward to coming back!

SOS! Not only is it over priced, but baby…I can’t even tell what was “remodeled.” The drinks are weak..not even a 6 second count. Not sure if it was just the bartender I got, however I remember I used to come here and have a blast! Now it’s just disappointing😕

Really bad attitudes and service. It's really obvious that the staff hates their jobs. I was there for the annual Christmas in July benefit and it was dismal. The service and bartenders ranged from inhospitable to downright rude and hostile. I realize that this probably wasn't regular hours for the bartenders and staff, but some of their behavior was inexcusable. When the event wound down and closed, we were "ushered" quickly to the doors and not even allowed to go to the bathroom on the way out. I will never be back.

The best club in Houston is a gay club - South Beach. The club was renovated and it has a great sound system and visuals. The only thing I dislike is that the DJ keeps playing the same tracks every weekend. I don’t drink or do drugs, so the only reason I go is to dance (get a workout) and lose myself to the music. Can’t really enjoy the music if I keep hearing the same tracks every weekend.

me and my friend were looking for a club and since we didn't know very well we searched and it says that they accept 18 but it's not true I'm 21 and my friend 20 it was a horrible experience they should put 21 on their page so there are no misunderstandings, they need to update the music too, more variety.

This is definitely my spot! There are drag shows every night and the male strippers are A plus! There is a house/techno feel to the club if you just like to fist pump and flail around. There are always great bar tenders and the bouncer is always super nice.

Hire more bartenders and the new South Beach would be 5 stars!!!

Horrible Bartenders and Staff me and a girlfriend were wrongly kicked out for no reason and not given any explanation will not be returning and I highly do not recommend this establishment

This place has been on my list to hit for a long time. Hosted a group of about 15 of us and we decided to go somewhere vibing for dancing. Called in and they said they were busy around 10pm. Walked in and it seemed quiet so I peered over the corner to take a peek. Literally got violently scolded for peeking for 3 seconds around the corner. My friends were turned off about how rude he was and decided to leave bc we didn’t feel welcomed despite driving 20m to this venue. Never walked in and left a club so fast. 😅 Shame really

Please, I beg you, play some different music. Every time I’ve gone on a Saturday the music is just bad tbh. The space is huge and could be fun but the music always kills the vibe.

First night here and there was a drag show, really cute but had to leave early! Restroom was nice and clean and outdoor space for smoking available. There was a $5 entrance fee that could be paid cash or card. Just keep track of your tabs. Left a $10 tip on a $36 tab but charged $50. It was only $4 so not such a big issue (for me) but still a little disappointing considering the drinks were $10 each. I chugged like 3 of them and felt nothing so pregame definitely necessary lol

Had such a great time here with my friends. The door staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Mary, she started the night off in the right foot. The music was perfect as we had great cocktails and danced for hours! Can’t wait to go back!

After being in Houston for a year, SOBE is the one of the only places I have felt safe and loved as part of the LGBTQIA+ community! I always look forward to walking in and being greeted by Mary with her smile, positive excitement asking how you truly are, and giving you a big ol hug, to Hayden serving the best drinks in montrose with the best attitude always!! Best place on the fruit loop 🖤

I consider South Beach the best gay night club in Houston, and one of the best in Texas, I enjoy going there, almost whenever I’m out to Montrose, if you are visiting Houston it’s almost that you hit south beach, there music is also good, their dance platform is amazing!

Trendy place. Difficult to park. Once we went in, told the DJ to play some Depeche Mode and an hour past by and nothing. Never going back again

While I think this generation of clientele deserves much to be desired (I hate pretentiousness, especially “si Tienes nada Que ver”. Jordan is absolutely amazing, good drinks, and is very conscientious about who arrived when and who is next. Keep up the good work and don’t let the wannsbees get you down

This place was honestly awesome. Nothing compared to the place down the street. $10 to get in and they stamp your hand. The locale looks very upscale and everything looks modern. Bartenders are friendly.

If you are down to have a good time and want to dance all night south beach is the place to go in Montrose. Valet is available on Fridays- Sundays. I know that valet for Friday and Saturday is $20 for regular and $40 for V.I.P. Parking and it’s $10 for Sundays from 4-8 PM

It was nice... good size club... the air was blowing... so I never got hot... which is great!!! it wasn’t a packed night when I went... but a good crowd... drag show was good... but lasted a lil long for me... lasted til 2... I left at 2... and got no dancing time... they are open til 4... vallet parking is a must... cause that is a busy area for clubs... so parking is limited... but I enjoyed myself... only complaint was I didn’t get to dance... but it may have been the night I went and the time I left...

It's okay I guess. Drinks are over priced (as usual) and the atmosphere feels kinda fake when sober. The models dancing are all straight and are just there for money, not very fun to interact with. With a nice buzz and good company, you can have fun and dance to good music. Most weekends at least, there are some off nights with low turn out or blah music. All in all, it's okay and probably among the best Houston has to offer in its category.

Been there ton of times always an enjoyment to go there. Will say a bit expensive on the drinks but seeing the Rugirls there makes up for it all
