Wow! I had extremely high expectations for this place given the reviews and it ABSOLUTELY blew me away in every aspect. The best BBQ I’ve had in all of my life, hands down. The brisket was incredibly tender, juicy and covered with smoky flavor. Also tried the pork ribs and jalapeño sausage and they were equally as amazing. The sides were the bomb .. I got potato salad and a macaroni and cheese and I was highly satisfied with the sides. Oh yeah and they let me walk back into the “smoke room” and watch the pit master cooking up all the legendary meats. Really cool experience. I’m now a lifelong fan !

The meat was great! Unfortunately, they were out of beef ribs, but they gave a slice of flat and a slice of point for the brisket, which was very good, and the cheddar jalapeno sausage was perfect! The sides (beans and mac and cheese) weren't the best I've ever had, but still good. The meat stole the show, though, so I'm very happy I picked this spot while in the area!

Absolute best BBQ in Houston! We had the feast number 2 which was more than enough for 4 people. It gets very busy here and hard to find parking we were here on a Sunday afternoon and had to drive around in circles to find parking. They do have a large seating area outside which is great. The ribs were very good. Honestly all of the meat is good it literally falls off the bone.

Great place to take a moment and enjoy amazing bbq and good vibes. Love the restaurant design and the food quality. I had brisket and chicken and both items were coked to perfection. The smoke was not overdone and it had the right amount of seasoning. The brisket has a spicy hint to it which compliments the smoke. For the sides, i had mac and cheese and claw slaw. I am not a fan of their recipe for mac and cheese ( please remove from menu or update recipe). It looked like green beans were better choice. Be careful with the local wild life. They will steal your food :)

If this isn't the undisputed GOAT of BBQ in Houston then I don't know what is. The Brisket is just simply glorious. The rub, the flavor, the fattyness, it's all perfect. The combination of flavors and textures are perfection. The beef rib is superb and the meat is so tender it literally fell off the bone when I picked it up. The sausage is delightful, the turkey and chicken are just as good. The sides and BBQ sauce are the cherry on top of a feast. I'll absolutely come back here for seconds.

I have been to a ton of barbecue places in and out of Houston, but this is still one of my favorites. I love the tacos. (Pork and brisket) Sandwiches, not so much, but the ribs were also pretty good. It was pretty hard to find parking though, it’s such a popular place! Lots of staff around that were helping us, and they seemed to know what is on the menu pretty well.

My friend recommended this restaurant. We went there at a Wednesday evening and it was packed with people. But the service was really fast. Both my husband and I ordered three meat platter. We both ordered pork ribs and briskets but different kinds of sausages and sides. Briskets were very tender and pork ribs very tasteful. Sausage was a little too dry for me. Sides are average. Definitely a five star👍

There is a free parking ramp right across the street if you want to park in a shaded area. The line was really long when I got there but it goes by really fast. They do have both indoor and outdoor seatings. It is NOT a sit down and serve restaurant, you’ll order your food and get your food at the counter. There are workers constantly walking around picking up dirty trays and cleaning tables. The food was DELICIOUS!! I wish my stomach could fit more food! The only thing I didn’t like was the chicken…it was more on the dry side. The brisket and the the ribs were fabulous. I would highly recommend checking this place out.

Without a doubt, the fame of Texas BBQ is invaluable. This place serves the best smoked meat of all the places I've been. The place is nice but because it's full of people, it gets a little busy, but that's precisely because it's out of the ordinary. If you're from abroad and looking for a place to eat a good BBQ, this is the place. Remembering that prices are per quantity of food and will depend on your hunger, but looking at other nearby meat restaurants, this one is extremely within budget. In other words, it is a place for all visitors.

Visit: June 2023 Got to visit The Pit Room and it didn't disappoint. The meat was of high quality and everything tasted really good. The sides were nice as well (green beans and mustard potato salad). It was cool to see that Guy Fieri had paid a visit there too. If I come back to Texas, I would definitely check this place out again. We got the brisket, pulled pork, and venison sausages. The sausages were a bit tough, which is expected from venison. We reheated the food at home and it was still really juicy, I can't imagine how good it would have been fresh

A couple of coworkers & I go out to eat each week & this BBQ restaurant was this week’s destination. The atmosphere has a good feel to it. The layout is well thought out & there’s a nice patio area when you want to sit outside to enjoy the weather. It’s very clean & the staff are very friendly & welcoming. I wasn’t a fan of the main attraction, the BBQ. A little to much fat on the brisket for my liking. And the make or break it item, the BBQ sauce, has a kinda tangy-like taste to it. People love this place & to each his own, but it’s not for me.

Visited few days ago with my friends, one of them got this place recommended and i can only recommend it as well. If you don’t try brisket in Texas, you are missing out! I got for myself three meats for great price with two sides ( brisket, pulled pork and beef sausage-Czech style). Coleslaw was tasty as well. Place was crowded but its worth to wait in the queue and it went fast.

Melt in your mouth brisket with a wonderful salty crust on the outside made this meal memorable. There was a bit if a line to order, but they moved you through pretty quickly. The sides all looked fantastic, I chose the charro beans, which has a bit of a kick. There was a selection of beer and soft drinks to chose from. The booths and tables were kept clean and it was an overall pleasant experience. Definitely worth a stop!

The atmosphere is pretty good if you're able to use the outdoor space but seemed a little disjointed. I walked into the bar but that is separate from the Pit room but they have menus there and they let you eat Pit room food there. Pro tip I got from the bartender: sit at the bar, call in your order for your BBQ and then walk over and bring it back to the bar. It is a much more pleasant experience because the line for the BBQ goes out the door. I wanted to try some ribs but they ran out so I got the brisket, pulled pork, baked beans and potato salad. It was all good but I wasn't complete blown away. It was good though. Definitely more on the vinegary side in my opinion. I enjoyed how moist the pulled pork was and I liked the potato salad. The baked beans were surprisingly spicy but good. The brisket was okay. They give you sauce but you won't need it. I'd go back, hopefully next time during the day and sit outside. I would definitely still call ahead.

Really solid food. Service was quick and portions were generous. I got a two meat plate with pork ribs and brisket. Ribs had a heavy smoke that I really enjoyed, and the brisket was excellent. The green beans were an unexpected star, so delicious! Pickles and sauces were all great. I’m a pretty big guy and I left this joint FULL and very happy for $25, very impressed.

This places was delicious. We had never heard of The Pit Room before but it just happened to be a couple of blocks from us around lunch time so we figured we'd check it out. The Wagyu Beef Rib, though expensive as heck at $45 a rib, was the best beef rib we ever had. The brisket was also great (fatty cut). No body had any complaints about the food and all the trays were picked clean. If you're wanting to sit inside, you might be waiting a while due to limited seating. Our wait time in line for food was about ten minutes. Not too bad for high noon on a Saturday. We would definitely eat here again.

Really good meats! Good sauce! Gritty nasty place. Watery mac&almost cheese. Crowded dining area. The line to stand in for waiting to order is right in the way of entering or exiting the building. Very limited seating. Deferred maintenance and neglected deep cleaning. Also paid $32 for one (1) single beef rib. Tasty, though!

Excellent Brisket. Tender, juicy and tasty I had ever tasted. The first time I tasted Venison. Yammy and delicious. The chicken taco was spicy, which I always preferred. Sides added the taste of all the BBQ we ate. I enjoyed the wooden cooked food . Drinks and cocktails are cheaper

From the smells to the atmosphere everything about The Pit Room is great. I had the three meat platter, the first slice of brisket was a bit dry and every slice after that was tender, juicy and flavorful. The rub and sauces were great, and I definitely recommend the corn and pickled jalapenos. If you like BBQ you'll like it here.

Oh my Lord this place was fantastic the food was so delicious I enjoyed the atmosphere. And if you are ever in Houston Texas stop by the pit and have some good old fine bbq. My first time eating here and it will not be my last time. When I came back to Texas.

Oh man this was great! My wife and I saw the tacos on Local Eats, apparently the tortillas are made with brisket fat instead of manteca, they are phenomenal. We had the brisket taco and the chicken taco. My only regret is I got the taco loaded, it was good, the only problem was the cheese and the sour cream stole the show. The brisket alone has such a great mellow flavor. I will be back and when I am I will ask to see if they’d just do the brisket with a side of tortillas. I really enjoyed the different pickled veggies, the star is the purple pickled onions. All and all so tasty!

Incredible! This is a small joint but don’t underestimate it! Quick service, casual atmosphere. The best, most tender barbecue! We had the turkey, spicy sausage, brisket and pulled pork. All were delicious. Good sides too. We enjoyed the glass bottle sodas as well! We sat on the patio which was nice. It was a bit smoky so I’d suggest sitting inside if you have respiratory issues, but we didn’t mind and seeing all the smokers there is another testament to how good the barbecue is! I will hope to come back!!!!

We went for dinner. The food is generally very good. The brisket is great and the bbq sauce is very good. That defiantly puts them high on the difficult list of bbq in Houston. The sides have a Mexican flair and a bit of a spice. Pulled pork and chicken are ok. No kids menu. So we got the kiddo a taco and that worked well. Great patio space so go on a nice day. Recommend an early dinner. We left at 6:40 on a Sunday and the line was out the door.

I still think this is my favorite BBQ in htown as always consistently good food. In addition, the portion sizes are decent for the price. Highly recommend the brisket, pulled pork, corn and potato salad. I would definitely avoid the coleslaw as it was so dry it tasted like eating leaves.

My sister came in town and we wanted some good bbq. Took a chance in the reviews alone. Hands down a very strong competitor for the best BBQ in Houston. A little expensive but with it. Now this is purely based on the meat because that's all I eat but everything looked good.

Stop two on our urban bbq trail was the pit room. The highs: super friendly staff, ample seating and minimal wait time The mids : the sausage and taco fixings bar were generous. The brisket was good, the spice rub was on point The low: the brisket (at least the piece we got) was very fatty. The taco itself wasn’t great. It unnecessarily had shredded yellow cheese on it and was in a flour tortilla and those are just a boring filler Brisket: 7/10 Sausage: 7/10 Brisket taco: 5/10 Green bean: 7/10 Corn: 5/10

Unbelievable!! One of the few craft BBQ joints that doesn’t run out or make you get there hours early. Everything this was perfect. The sides are just as spectacular as the meats. Oh yeah, their tortillas are made from brisket fat. Never heard of that before but I have now. See y’all again soon!!

One of the better BBQ options in town. The beef ribs were spot on, as they were a perfect combo of fatty/moist/tender. Would definitely order them again. The brisket was also solid with a good BBQ sauce to pair. The brisket taco though ate a little dry. Wasn’t nearly as moist as the main course brisket by itself. The Elote was pretty good, but definitely needed more spice to hit the right notes. Had most of the right flavors though otherwise. The Mac N Cheese was the perfect home style kind to put it together.

My late review…back in May this year, we had driven for 3 hours and wanted lunch when we got into Houston so decided to come straight here, based off of it having been on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and all the good reviews. Ordered a combo for our little family and ate most of it. We were lucky to find a table for 4. Enjoyed the sausage, chicken, brisket, pork ribs. Nice to have BBQ sauce on the side. Not enough delicious sides given for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids—one teen and one tween)—my son could’ve eaten the macaroni by himself. Giant beef rib was too fatty. These negatives alone made us realize we’d have been better off just getting individual meals. Think the cost would’ve come out the same. Overall delicious!

A must in Houston! Food was fresh and delicious. Brisket was so flavourful and the mustard potato salad so good. My husband had the ribs and although they were good and fall off the bone, it was very fatty. I would not have enjoyed it but he liked it a lot. I was happy with my meal.
