This is authentic Mexican food (although high-end). The ambiance isn’t the greatest but the food, the cocktails, and the service is amazing. Jesus G. was our sever. He was extremely proud and knowledgeable about Mexican food and drinks. He knew the history behind much of what we ate and drank and came up with great recommendations. He definitely went above and beyond to make our experience very special. I would highly recommend Hugo’s for upscale casual Mexican fare. Impecable good and service!

What a stunning meal. We stumbled into Hugo's last night after other dinner plans had fell thru. We were so lucky to be able to get a seat at the bar (which was actually a small high top table on its own). It was so lovely with all of the Christmas Decor. The best part was the food.... oh my goodness. So great! The Ceviche was next level fresh and tasty! The Octopus came with a Chipotle sauce that I did not even think it needed because it was cooked to perfection on its own! For main we had the Pork Shank and Scallops. We both were so impressed with EVERYTHING we had. Just overall such a great dinner. The cornbread served with the Scallops is to die for. It was the best part of the entire dinner. Also, I want to say the wait staff and manager were so nice and provided excellent service.

Celebrated NYE 2021 here and it could not have been better. Amazing food with something for everyone. Great bar drinks and some surprisingly good but affordable wine bottles. Service was terrific too. We might make this our NYE tradition.

We had a fantastic Valentine’s weekend brunch! Everything was flavorful and delicious, and we loved the mimosa mi corazon. Our server, Gino, was outstanding and took very good care of us. Best service we’ve experienced in recent memory. Can’t wait to return!

My sisters and I brought our mom here for Mother's Day and it was pretty busy as expected. The experience was great and we would come back and try their dinner menu. Restaurant is on the finer dining side, not the typical Mexican restaurant with the generous portions and cheaper prices. Parking can be a bit of a headache but at least it is complimentary valet, tip accordingly! Our waiter was great, very friendly, informative of the menu, recommendations were delicious and very attentive for it being a packed house. We ordered an appetizer called lechón and it was very good. It was pork and it came with some blue tortillas super delicious! Warning that sauce is spicy as heck! I ordered the huevos rancheros with my eggs over hard. It definitely isn't like the cheaper places where the eggs are swimming in sauce (which I LOVE) but the flavors are very good and it is filling with the chopped grilled steak, tortillas and refried beans beneath it all. My mom ordered the chilaquiles and she enjoyed them, said there was plenty of the green sauce. My sisters ordered another huevo ranchero and the chile relleno. They both liked it as well. We all cleaned our plates lol no crumbs left behind. For dessert we ordered the crepas con cajeta and the churros rellenos. Small portions indeed for both but it was plenty after sharing an appetizer and having a full meal. Great place to splurge on every now and then. Friendly staff everywhere. Clean facilities during BUSY BUSY Mother's day. Would definitely recommend to try out.

Not a place you want to miss out on! How does one go to Houston and not visit Hugo's?! Delicious doesn't begin to cover it. Everything about this place is incredible - right from appetizers to the desserts!! Even if you go just for desserts and cocktails, you wont be disappointed. I highly recommend the taquitos and you cannot go wrong with any of the dessert options, although the flan is easily the winner, for me!

We've been to Caracol so we decided to check out Hugo's and wow. We were so impressed with all the dishes and the presentation 😍 the crispy duck dish was out of this world! We will for sure be back again for more. Our server, Liz was wonderful.

Great food. Especially the brunch buffet. It is a little pricey at $42 per person but it honestly is kind of worth it. Valet is complementary so parking was easy. Otherwise it's be difficult. Everything was delicious. From entrees to dessert. Will definitely come back again.

Wonderful experience. Beautiful restraunt and great staff. Our waitress went out of her way to help us find something my autistic toddler would eat. Our food was so good and the drinks were yummy. Will go again.

I haven’t been here since several years ago. Went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was better in my memories. Food selection was okay. Service was not great. As soon as our waiter realized we were not going to order alcohol — he was less attentive and ignored us the majority of the time. I had to get up several times to ask for coffee and silverware. We witnessed him being extremely attentive to other tables around us who ordered alcohol. Not the best experience, not the worst. I wouldn’t go back unless it was a corporate event.

Great restaurant with phenomenal food and good service. Complimentary valet parking. I recommend making a reservation as they are very popular. The ceviche was good with plenty of nice acidity. The scallops with the cornbread and creamy spinach were buttery soft, naturally lightly sweet, and paired well together. The pyramid of chocolate was rich and just the right amount to finish off the meal. My only note is that it is pretty loud in here and unless you're sitting right next to each other, it is difficult to hold a conversation. I don't recommend for first dates and would've preferred a slightly quieter atmosphere but rowdy tables will be rowdy tables. Overall, I recommend dining here and experiencing what Hugo's brings to the table.

Wine, appetizer are really good. For the Taco, also good! But Do not take this! The fish stinks, really hard to tolerate. Can not understand why it cost $30? By the way, also cannot understand the one bottle mineral water cost $5 without notice? Will NOT come back again.

The food amazing and good service. The margaritas are many tasty and different you should try more the one . We try 3 Desert the one with pears was the best one if I have to chose. My only complaint is the table where I sat right in the corner received the sun directly.

We visited for dinner during their 3-6 happy hour. Service a bit slow. Discounted drinks and appetizers. House margaritas are so good! Taquitos, plantain empanadas were delicious. Chicken tortillas soup is more like a tomato bisque consistency and spice level was missing for us. I ordered the potato tacos as a main course. My husband had the shrimp dish (heads on so beware). Others ordered the chicken enchiladas and the lamb barbacoa. Dessert was the chocolate pyramid and chuirros. Food was good, but their sister restaurant Caracol is our favorite by far.

We came here for our anniversary, we've been here before for a birthday and the staff has always been amazing. We had ceviche for appetizer and it was soooo good, then my fiancé and I ordered the chilaquiles & the huarache; they were super good! We had a complimentary desert which was so exquisite, loved everything about our visit today. Our server was super friendly, we have dealt with him a few years ago as well and he is always so cordial. Thank you Victor for your service & thank you to Hugo's for making our morning a great one. 🤌🏽 Todo estuvo súper rico. 😋

The food at Hugos is phenomenal. Each item tasted very authentic and fresh. I highly recommend going during the happy hour as you can get great deals on drinks, appetizers, and tacos. During non happy hour, the food is pretty expensive and may not be worth it to some even though the flavor is great. Although the food was exceptional, I feel like the atmosphere could have been a bit better. It was nice inside but for the price point, I feel that it could have been nicer. Overall, if food is your main concern, definitely come here. If the atmosphere is most important, you may want to go other places. Note- they have valet parking.

This is my first time to Hugo’s and I am definitely planning to come back here again because the food and service was excellent! 😋🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳 My family really enjoyed their meals and our server Victor gave us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 star service. Víctor explained the menu options and he gave us excellent recommendations based on what we were wanting to dine. The food was very tasty and my children were really happy with their kids meals. The food is all fresh and organic and the food is specifically from south Mexico from the state of Oaxaca. The manager came by to see how we were enjoying our food and gave us a very warm welcome. If you have never been here you should come see what you have been missing out.

Went for Brunch Buffet has excellent amount of variety in the dishes from Chicken, Beef, shrimp, eggs, potatoes etc.. I would definitely check on some dishes that needs higher temp to keep the food hot, fresh and avoid any food allergens and assign a person who can maintain the buffet. Desert table looks amazing. Lots to choose from Service is Excellent. Atmosphere and ambience are really nice, live band playing music. Restrooms are clean and maintened Valet parking available. Place is very busy, make a reservation before you go, and visit hungry. Definitely a good Sunday Brunch place, and a must.

Omg I cannot even tell you how special they make me feel on my bday, first there was a bday card from Hugos, we ordered lechon for appetizer, two drinks, after order carne asada or brava I don’t remember exactly and then dessert churros and crepes, they gave an extra plate with happy birthday wishes. Waiter was extra friendly and helpful also gave me chocolate to dip in my churros. Definitely coming back food was great too and they were very fast to serve the food. Thankyou all for everything

I had the angus beef with mole and bean tamale and it was very delicious! The tamale was so good! The mole sauce was also great, the steak could have a little improvement (was not as tender) but other than that would highly recommend this plate! My husband had the duck mole and it was falling off the bone, so tender! The churros were crispy and flavorful, would have them again! Definitely a must try restaurant in Houston

Authentic Mexican food done beautifully. We didn’t have a reservation but were very lucky to be seated inside the main dining room. The decor was bright, open, elevated and classy. We also notice how we both liked their their dinnerware, cocktail glass, and dinner table that we almost want to get the same glass for ourselves. For appetizers, we ordered Brussels sprout, ceviche, and suckling pig. The pork was so juicy and tasty, paired beautifully with corn tortilla that we devoured everything. For mains, we had carnitas, and scallop. The scallop was very fresh and elevated by the sauce and pancake. Carnitas was also delicious. For dessert, we had churros with ice cream. To our surprise, it also comes with hot chocolate that our server brought out and churned table side, it was a fun spectacle for us. Service was flawless. What a beautiful restaurant, Best Mexican food in Houston, and one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Valet was $5.

Finally I was able to try Hugo's and the food did not disappoint. Hugo's is definitely worth visiting. All things considered it is worthy of a 4.75 rating! My family and I were welcomed with the complimentary valet (great touch) and a cheerful hostess who seated us immediately. Our server was very knowledgeable, attentive, and offered great recommendations for the various dietary restrictions our table had. Must haves are the potato tacos, the fish of the day, the scallops, the old fashioned cocktail, the flan, and the vegan chocolate cake (never know it's vegan). We loved the extra effort put forth my parents anniversary. Another delicious dessert just for them was a great touch. It looks like the restaurant is undergoing minor cosmetic remodeling which you won't notice unless you're like me and look at every nook and cranny. The menu is expensive but the dishes we recommend are worth it. Overall, it was a great experience, would highly recommend it, and are absolutely planning to go back.

First time coming for brunch and it won't be the last! Seasonal corn tamales were excellent and the veg egg benedict type dish was also amazing.

Good food, service and ambience! Went here for a dinner on a weekday. The have valet parking. Indoor seating. The ambience is great! Service is fantastic. We were looking for vegetarian options and they had plenty. Their salsa and guac was fresh and good. You can get refills on the chips only. The plantain empanadas were good, they are a bit on the sweeter side. We also tried TACOS DE RAJAS Y PAPAS - it was good too, the poblano peppers bring in a good flavor. PLATO DE VEGETALES - loved the butternut squash puree and the brussel sprouts. Overall it was a good experience, definitely going back to try the rest of the menu.

Loved it. My wife and I had dinner before going to see Wicked at the Hobby Center. Fantastic meal. For an appetizer we had the ceviche - super tasty and incredible chips that were very crispy. She had the duck and I had the slow roasted pork. Really tasty and fall off the bone meat. The moles and sauces were so delicious. Hugo Rita for happy hour drinks were perfect. The bread pudding for dessert was the best we have had together. Really great service and we are certain we will go again when we move inside the loop. 👍👍

Although yes, it's a Mexican restaurant I can't help myself to always order the scallops! They are seared to perfection. The sauce underneath has a smokey flavor and it boosts the sear of the scallops so well. It's fresh and delicious. I suggest you valet park.
