Well, this place is nice, service is very bad ! They don’t check in you and even is you go and order on the counter. Staff seemed to be don’t like their job and I don’t blame them. But it was very bad experience.

Ask for Kat. She's the best (and sexiest) bartender around. Lil Debbie's pretty great, too.

A true pub n American form. The interior is divided into both large and small spaces for variety of seating, and the front patio is spacious and covered. I love watching matches here w the rowdy crowd and enjoying the broad selection of beers. Service is reliable and the menu is as English as it gets this side of the pond. I enjoyed the plowman’s platter and their soup of the day, my friends had fish n chips, and enjoyed as well. Parking in back is usually pretty full so I sometimes Uber here. Prices are reasonable.

We were walking back to our accomodation when we noticed a sign saying English pub Well being English ourselves could not resit going in and loved the whole atmosphere And really loved listening to the music of our teenage hood 1980 we could of sat and drank there for hours especially with the open fire

Best bar ever! If you are looking for a good and juicy burger this is the ideal place. Also the french fries were divine and the beer was awesome! I had a good time with my friends. Will be coming back.

Great service and staff if friendly. Deck outside needs to be replace, which I think they are in the pr5 of doing this.

This spot has been here for years! I love their fish & chips and beer selection is spot on. I like watching soccer games here. Definitely a spot to check out.

Very comfortable and friendly people. The bar is really nice. Sit by the fire inside if you are chilly. They do have outside heat lamps to make you comfortable as well. We saw Shotgun Sally and had a great time.

Great to have a place to watch premier league and they open early for the games. Really cozy British vibes and great beer selection. The bartender was welcoming and helpful.

Went on 11-18-21 for lunch. Ordered fish and chips, it is an irish pub, only to be told no fish. Ordered the Paddy O'Brien sandwich instead, sirloin steak and chips. Wife ordered the same. When the food came, the chips were actually "fries" like Macdonalds and not chips. We ended up eating about a quarter of the meal leaving the rest it was that bad. The meat was full of fat and gristle and the fries stone cold. The waitress came over to check and once she saw the full plates that we were not eating, she knew it was not good. On the upside the waitress/bartender was great as was the bass ale. The tab was comped so we gave her a good tip instead. This was our first visit and our last I am afraid. Will stick to the Red Lion.

I love this place! Super nice staff, good drinks, a little over priced but still good. They have a couple of cool event nights like karaoke, bands, so on so forth. Its a small pub but exactly what my boyfriend and I look for. It is in a rough location so please be careful (from a paranoid person). But overall, I've always had a nice time here!

It's kind of a dive. The online menu was nothing like the menu at the pub. They didn't even have many of the beers listed on the menu there. Staff was friendly. Food was surprisingly good. We love the fact that you could smoke outside on the patio.

Used to come very regularly, new management has done some terrible work to the customer service. Me and my friends are not coming back to this place that we used to call home.

It's a great little divey pub! It really feels like I'm in Britain again. Good selection of beer. Live music. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and highly recommend you try it too.

They have a great selection of beers. The parking lot is a bit of a challenge on a rainy Houston day with a few potholes waiting for it’s next victim…the food is your typical bar food selection. They survived Covid so that’s a great plus…the bathrooms are clean and they provide a nice basket of paper towels and soap - another great plus. The staff needs to do a better job at paying attention and providing five star service - example - we had one potato skin left which I was planning on eating until one of the bartenders just lifted it off and into the trash before we even had a chance to say “hey we aren’t done”. Proper form is to ask the person(s) if they are finished. We could have said something but neither myself nor my partner were needing the extra drama or calories so we let it go. Someone made a review comment that the staff is sassy…I would prefer to just frequent places where the staff is nice and treats people as they themselves want to be treated. Yes, it’s bar food - but a little extra love in the food you create will go a long way to keeping new people coming back - and that’s the secret to restaurant and bar survival after 2020. 🦋

It's been a while since my student days at Oxford, but a step inside this lovely little place takes me back. It has all the things you'd expect in a pub: plenty of good drink (I like Dead Guy), dark wood, knick-knacks, nooks and crannies that will suit any kind of gathering, interesting personalities aplenty. I also enjoy a good smoke out on the porch with live music. The bar is a perfect place to hold court with a few cronies, a pint or three, and a scotch egg. Please do eat your mushy peas. I keep expecting that I'll turn a corner one day and find my old tutor ready for another go at Beowulf or Alfred's law code. Wouldn't be surprised if it happened!

My 1st time visiting, but not my last. It was a slow Sunday and the crowd seemed to be locals. My fish and chips were very good and the bartender was very nice and helped me pick a beer to go with my order. A nice selection of beers and I saw Scotch eggs on the menu.

Staff especially Juan and Alex are amazing. The atmosphere is great. Phillip rocks karaoke on Thursdays. Lot of fun, good people, good food. Although I was sad to find out they no longer make Shepard's pie or nor the beef and mushroom pie.

The place certainly has the feel of an English Pub. I've been in several while in England. The food was really good. Music wasn't exactly British, but what is appropriate music for a Pub? The neighborhood is a bit sketchy. Not the Pubs fault, but I guess the neighborhood has changed over the years.

It's a great pub with an intimate feel. Plenty of activities like darts and pool and karaoke. The prices are good. The food is good. I recommend it for a casual drink with friends. I'll definitely be back

It was a slow weeknight with few patrons. We enjoyed our fish & chips, and a sausage roll, with a couple of Smithwick’s pints. Nick the bartender entertained us very well.

Been here a few times. I think this place isnt for everyone. It's a bit old and gritty. Not a great beer selection IMO for an English Pub. They play fights and other PPP sporting events which is ok I guess. It's a small neighborhood bar and probably best for the immediate locals.

Great pub! Very cozy and accommodating. Friendly and pettable cats prowl the outdoor seating. The bartenders are friendly, the food is very good, and the beer selection is great! The regulars are nice and on mondays there is a dungeons and dragons group at 6pm that anyone can drop into even with no experience. It's one of my favorite places in the area! Parking is also super easy which was a pleasant surprise.

Sadly the Richmond arms is on its way out .... loved this place for so many years .. Food is now very, very average Service at best is below average Place smells of burnt old frying oil Came to watch the Chelsea game at the so called English pub ... but the main game on the main screen was Real Madrid .... with all of two people watching .. All the scousers and Chelsea’s fans crammed in to, two small areas ... Time to find a new English pub !!!!!! This review is writing by a solid ex pat from London..

  • 4/5 Robert A. 3 years ago on Google
Nice and dark for those who want to be in your own (get away from the world zone but still a friendly enough atmosphere that you can find yourself in a conversation for hours about nothing with the guy at the end of the bar.

Since management changes, the English ambiance is gone. Less folks in the pub and building in serious need of updates.

We went for traditional pub food, and it was great. I would stick with the pub food and easy classics. The atmosphere makes you think you are in England, and the one server was busy, but took good care of us.
