The staff took good, personal care of my friends and me while we visited Houston. We felt thoroughly welcomed, even though we were out-of-towners. There is an AMI jukebox on which you can play your favorite tunes! The dรฉcor is fun and casual. Prices are reasonable. Also, they are open on Mondays right until 2:00am, whereas many other nearby bars are closed that day. I recommend stopping here to enjoy a few cold ones! ๐Ÿ™‚

We found this bar by accident and I'm so glad we did. They were playing some great music and the staff was amazing. You know sometimes a bar just has a great vibe, well this is that bar.

Interesting bar for downtown. Very comfortable atmosphere but pretty dead for 8:00 on a friday. I would imagine it gets busier when there are concerts and things going on downtown. Service was quick and we were able to sit at the bar. Gothic style atmosphere and decent metal Style music. I would go again.

Great downtown place for good priced drinks with a heavy metal rock vibe.

Stopped in after the TOOL concert wanting to find a chill and popping place for a drink. Read a few reviews on this bar as we sat at another close competitor of bars around the Toyota center and saw few but many mentions of โ€œrockโ€ music. Absolutely awesome and amazing atmosphere. Only stayed for 3 songs but they were all great and the crowd was huge. Will definitely be back asap

So at first stubborn into this bar I got that underground industrial feel. They were playing new wave music and everything. By 10 oโ€™clock the music completely changed. It turned into your normal regular night club spot. My music taste is very eclectic however when Iโ€™m going into a metal bar/industrial bar/new wave etcโ€ฆ completely changing the genre of music really throws you off.

Very cool bar in Houston. Was looking for a late night spot and the place got really crowded because of the bowl game. Perhaps they were a little surprised that such a crowd would come in on a Monday night because they only had one bartender but he was very knowledgeable and worked as hard as he could to keep up.

First time in Houston - this bar was recommended and did not disappoint. Dark and divey with a sweet concrete bar and emo/goth vibe. My extra dirty extra olives vodka martini was perfect. A great downtown bar if you're looking for a tasty place to hide out.

Decent local bar, liquor can be a little pricey but beers a good price. Dark vibe, music choice is interesting but not bad. They usually have great hours of operation and a great place to stop by after a long night or day.

Cool little dive in downtown Houston, right across from House of Blues. Good spot to pop in for drinks before or after a concert. They donโ€™t serve food and are generally not very busy so the atmosphere isnโ€™t great. Good service and reasonably priced drinks. Not a place Iโ€™d go out of my way to visit though.

Careful with your cards here, this place is scummy and scammy. The puffy faced bar tender triple charges for the same drinks. I came in with a group of co-workers and my boss put down a card for our drinks without letting us know. While we were ordering, the puffy face bartender kept charging us for our drinks. Sometimes saying others hadn't paid for their own when they had. We ended up paying for some drinks 3 or 4 times. This place is terrible.

Best Rock bar in town... nothing clever or extraordinary about it, just a room with an oval concrete bar in the middle but yet something about it keeps you coming back. Great staff from the regulars to the guest bartenders always quick and friendly. Atmosphere is a rock vibe! The place to go after a downtown concert. Get the jack and coke from one of the Veronicas and take a picture with Ace costume Jack himself. Just a cool and chill hangout and a must visit during their halfway to Halloween yearly event.

Totally what I expected from the reviews and this is my kind of place as I am a rocker and a Halloween queen. So if you like that you're going to love this place

This little gem of a bar was a great place to enjoy a few evenings during a business trip to Houston. The bartenders were nice and the drinks were great. One bartender made an incredibly delicious Long Island Ice Tea.

Where's the dirt though? I stopped by this bar a few times during my visit to Houston. The staff were incredibly nice and the drinks were reasonably priced. Not much more you can ask for tbh. Just wondering where the dirt was?

We love Fernando and the atmosphere in this hang out! Right across from the House of Blues great place to get a great drink that you can actually taste the alcohol and doesn't break the bank!

Should be called TRASH. By far one of the worst bars in Houston hands down. One of the main door girls/bartenders has people arrested for no reason. So unless you want to ruin your night and week stay far away from this bar. You will thank me later!

The girls, bartenders were great until I needed my phone charged. The bar needs to have charging ports for customers or charging stations behind the bar. This is a nessessity for your patrons to stay longer and spend more money. What will it cost you. It's minuscule. Get with it Houston.

I am pretty picky when it comes to food reviews. This place was amazing. Love the vib. The lottery bisque was one of the best soups I have ever had. Our waitress was attentive. Highly recommend this place

Decent music selection - metal and new hard rock. Loud and exactly commiserate of what the name implies. It's a dirt bar.

One of the last bastions of rock n roll in this city. Where good whiskey, poor decisions and black clothing are the mood 24/7. If you remember, a time before cell phones when you went to somewhere because you felt it. This is that place. This is where the bartender makes you forget about the day. This is where you get to be the person you want to be. Not who you are expected to be. This. Is Dirt Bar.

Oh, this place is awesome! Many times have you ran into bands after the show! The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly and always have a good time when I go there! Highly Recommended!

Wild bar with nice loud music. I came here with two European men on a whim - it was open and everything else was closing. It was a Sunday night approaching Monday morning, music blasting in there. Scene is more like a club, minus the dancing. Love it. Not an experience I expected, but it was the experience I needed ๐Ÿ’—

Absolutely had an incredible time tonight! Taylor was great but she should try and smile more. Music was perfect, lighting created a very sinister ambience that I felt was well suited to the dive bar vibe. Definitely will remain a regular here. If you are in the market for THE BEST Long Island ice tea, Taylor is your girl! She makes the best Iโ€™ve ever had. She was also great with her layered shots that she handcrafted for us! Thanks dirt bar fam, 222 for life. Donโ€™t tell your friends.

It was OK. The bar staff did very well keeping up with a fairly full bar. Not much for comfortable seating and it didn't strike me as being terribly clean. Gin and tonic was so so

Cold beer, plenty of whiskey, reasonably clean, questionable bathroom door, easy vibe, excellent music. Fernando the bartender is my new favorite thing in Houston.

Always a welcoming establishment. Great prices and juke box. Been around 18+ yrs sooo that has to say something. DON'T play TINY DANCER on the jukebox

I would like to thank Veronica for being the most attentive bartender. Being a tourist in this city she made me feel at home! Coming from the other corner of the corner of the country she provided the most welcoming feeling without that knowledge. If you come to this area ask for Veronica!

Hey rockers. Terrific place to listen good music and have some beers without the snop kids from other bars.

i loved this bar, i was on vacation in houston and we got back from the Lady Gaga Concert but the hotel bar was closed so we made the short walk and they were crowded but the bartenders were quick and attentive, not to mention the music when we walked in they were playing Subhumans and then they played against me! joan jett, she wants revenge, and danzig , if i ever find myself in downtown houston i will definitely return!!!

I really enjoy this place, good beer selection and great music. It gets super packed some nights and hard to find a place to sit, but that's to be expected. 4 stars bc once a bouncer was shutting the garage like doors outside and it came down on my friends head.. luckily she laughed it off, but he should have been more aware. And only two bathroom stalls.
