We should have taken this as our first clue to run the other way—a bar full of dirty glasses and dishes, but only half full of guests. Our meat & cheese board came out quickly, as did our other app. But we had to ask for silverware, and water, and for the old glasses to be removed. And every after sitting and dining for an hour or more, I still had to double check to make sure I was picking up the correct glass, as the dirties still remained. Meanwhile, staff made themselves drinks, the manager sat at the bar on the laptop, our bartender/server leaned on the bar, messing with his phone (when he was actually in sight and not gone for lengthy periods). The food was pretty good, but the service needs much improvement before I’d consider coming back, which is a shame, because the menu is great, and the music is bumping. The manager saw me looking around in bewilderment about all the tables with dirty glasses on them, and said, “We were really busy a few minutes ago. And now we’re really slow. It’s crazy.” Being slow did not seem to make an apparent difference, because my date and I talked for a while about how shocking it was that no one was making an effort to bus. Unbelievable. And unacceptable. It’s a wonder they’ve managed to stay in business this long. The two photos taken were on our way out—no effort made by any of the staff to clear them at any point—like a snap-shot from the post-apocalypse.

I visited Batanga and realized they changed for the better! With a renewed menu and great atmosphere.I had a great time. Went on Saturday and there was live music and I was glad I made my reservation ahead of time. They incorporated additional creative tapas and dishes to the main Paella staple. I had Ahi Tuna Nachos, that were so fresh and “The Pig” with a flavor combinations that I was so pleasantly surprised of coming back to this place. The drinks menu includes skinny options. I had the Paloma. 👏👏👏definitely looking forward to coming back —- We came back. Added pictures of the eats: half baked oysters, lobster bisque and Chocolate con Papa and note there is a happy hour so this time I did try the margaritas and they were sooo good!

Batanga was located across the street from our hotel so we decided to check it out after spending the day at the Aquarium. We found ourself in their umbrella sky outdoor seating and already drooling over the menu! We ordered a handful of tapas and a paella to split between the two of us and took advantage of their cocktail menu. Our waiter was so helpful in picking out the best cocktails and was honest about food portions and what to get! We highly recommend the Brazilian Pearl Necklace and Prickly Pear Margs! Next time we’re in Houston, we’ll definitely be back! We 10/10 recommend Batanga!

Friendly service. Some of the food was good and some needed more salt. Drinks 🍸 was good. The waiter was missing for about 15 minutes and had to get somebody to go find him. We were ready to leave. We had to go to a comedy show. I'll probably never go back.

It was our first time eating here and overall it was very good. Unfortunately they were out of a number of dishes that we wanted which was a bit disappointing. Our server was pleasant and attentive.

The only reason why I’m given 2 starts is because the place was nice, however the food wasn’t as I expected it. They charge you more than what really tasted and the quantity is very small. DO NOT GET THE EMPANADAS,those empanadas are so disgusting and the ground beef was rough and no flavor! Such a nice place for such a disgusting food…we ordered chicken tostadas-ok, Burria tacos-ok, grilled avocado Don’t order that, the oysters Ok….even the water tasted bad. I rather to pay more to get a better quality food, sorry for the manager!!!

Overall experience is 3.5 on a Friday evening. The food was good:4. We enjoyed the fish tacos in the happy hours and the mushroom croquettes are very delicious. But the service was all over the place. Our waitress walked away as we were still ordering, we had to shout twice after her that we are not done yet. Then we get a dirty plate (I mean a big piece of food was stuck to the bottom), the guy took it and forgot to come back with a clean one. We would come back for the food, but not for the service for sure. Plus point for not using plastic straws!!

We did accidentally show up a bit close to closing but they were bet accommodating regardless of that! The food tastes amazing and the drinks are really really good and unique. The bartenders are also willing to try and put together a drink if you know what goes in it for a fair price. I look forward to visiting again for a longer dinner.

I love the ambience of this place. They have live music, they were playing Latin music, and couches you can chill on. They did take a long time bringing the food out but it was so worth it! For drink I got the pearl drink and I LOVED it
