The food is never that good. It’s only okay and you’re better off finding something else for Mexican food. My nachos came without melted cheese and everything cold even old, cold fajita pieces. You have to specify cheese or else nachos don’t come with cheese. See the pics everything was cold and looks soggy and unappealing. The kids didn’t want to eat their nachos. They were stingy with the fish in the tacos. I mean overall I spent $~50 plus gave them a 15% tip (for pickup) and so I paid $65 for dinner and it sucked. I’m mad about it but I was starving so we ate and I made the kids something else at home. Every time I go to bodegas I try something new but it sucks. The rice is old and not homemade stuff.

Being my first time here, I asked what they recommended. Enchiladas! So I ordered chicken enchiladas and they were delicious and loaded with flavor. I loved the way the beans were seasoned, but they could have cooked just a bit longer. Although I didn't love the texture, the taste was good. There is seating both inside and outside. I thought the inside was quite cozy, a nice place to sit and eat, especially when it's super hot outside like today. It felt wonderful walking inside the restaurant! However, I was disappointed with the service. When a customer is alone and tells you it's their first time to visit, make them feel welcome. Show them where to order, where to pay, where to get the drinks. If they look a bit confused, don't make them have to ask, just be friendly and courteous and tell them or show them. There was no one in front of me or behind me. I was the only customer in line, however, somehow I felt like I was a burden, like they had other things to do and needed to get me through there quickly. I doubt this was intentional, but always be aware of how you treat people and how you make them feel. Something as simple as a smile and a friendly word can have such a huge impact. By the same token, making them feel unseen, unnoticed, or not worth your time also has an impact. Be the reason someone smiles today. ❤️

Menu similar to a good taco truck with very similar pricing but a better taste profile in a cozy indoor air conditioned "brick & mortar" atmosphere. Parking challenging

Since I visited Mexico City I have been looking for a place that serves Tacos and Salas like Mexico City street food. Finally, during my travel in Houston, I found a place. I loved the tacos and spicy salsa. Must try if you are visiting Museums or roaming around here.

We were visiting museums in the district and saw this place. We tried it because of it convenient location. Overall, environment is cute though a bit crowded. I ordered fish tacos combo. I was pleased with my tacos but not with sides. There were three good size tacos and the flavor was good. I went back and forth between 4 and 5 stars. I ended up with 5 because the service was fast and the amount of the food generous. My husband had beef fajita tacos and they were good too. We’d probably eat here again if we’ll be back in town.

I lived in Houston for 40+ years. As you know there are probably 5,000 taco shops. Finally, I’ve found the best one. Tucked in a block from the Museum of Natural Science. The fish tacos are superb. The refried beans are made from rich creamy black beans, perfectly seasoned. Of course dump your rice in your beans you Neanderthal too enjoy them properly. They have them simmering for hours in a 25 gallon pot. These are not your Fiesta canned beans my friend. Enjoy!

Tasty & fresh. This taco shop in the museum district was a nice find on our date night. Easy to find street parking & we both picked combos off the menu. I had the fajitas which were so good & everything was so fresh. I enjoyed the crunch & crisp of their tortillas chips. My husband had the fish tacos & said they were delicous!

Stepping into Bodegas Taco Shop felt like entering a culinary haven. The inviting atmosphere and warm smiles from the staff set the stage for a wonderful dining experience. The star of the show, undoubtedly, were the tacos, and of course, lots of toppings and salsas. A creative twist into traditional Mexican fare, creating a fusion of familiar and new tastes. Bodegas is at the top of my list of regular spots and I will be sharing with all my friends and family! Mexican cuisine with a contemporary flair, this place is an absolute must-visit. 🌮🎉

Really good tacos! I ordered the taco salad 🥗 with chicken and it was delicious 😋. They give really good portions, I had leftovers. My friends ordered tacos and they practically enhaled them! 😂 They have a variety of drinks and treats too so go get you some! I was filming a commercial and we ordered here for lunch. ☺️👌🏾My only suggestion is that I added the grilled veggies but I was expecting more like fajita style like bell peppers and onion and not like carrots and potatoes. I meannnn that's not how we make taco salad in my culture but it was so good I was able to look past that part. Or I was just really hungry from filming all day. Annnnddd they forgot my pico and charro beans😐 That's the only reason why it's not 5 ⭐

I'm always up for a taco spot. Bodegas is located across from the HCA hospital so it's a great alternative when you don't want hospital food. I highly suggest the pork and plantains. That dish was yummy and filling. The tortillas are made fresh and hot. The rice is good, but I wasn't crazy the beans. Oh, and the tea is "tea". I had this idea of it being slightly sweetened and that was a no. Overall, great spot.

Visited for the first time and I have to say that this was the best queso I’ve had in a long time! I didn’t even eat the tacos because I couldn’t stop until I demolished the queso. Next day, the tacos were hitting! 🤌🏾 I’ll be back!

Stopped in around 8:30PM after being dragged through the art museums. I was starving and wanted a good meal... I was not disappointed. I had the fish tacos combo, and I was very pleased with the portion size for the price. The fish fillets were large and cooked nicely. I would definitely recommend, $11 for some really great fish tacos. I also tried a little of the plantains, they were really good as far as plantains go! Same with the pulled pork.

My go to spot for nachos. These are honestly the best nachos I’ve ever had which is why I go here quite often. The nachos are pretty cheap IMO and the portion is pretty big. I like how you are able to customize the nachos and put whatever toppings you’d like. Their chocolate cake is also a must, it is so light and delicious.

Watery sour cream and rude staff. The staff turn a gentleman away and refused to let him order based on his appearance. They even went out of the way to call the cops even though he left without any issue just embarrassment.

Bodegas taco shop is so much more than a taco restaurant. It serves wonderfully moist grilled chicken, shrimp and other delicious fixings. Yes you can make your own tacos but they also provide full meals with an entrée, beans and rice and tortillas. And oh by the way, let’s not forget they have a full bar so if you happen to be in the museum District, and want an economical meal fast, give this place a try.

This place was recommended to me since I was in the museum district. It's a very short walk from HMNS. Quick service and even though it was crowded, I had no trouble finding a table. I really like the salsa! The shrimp in my tacos were very flavorful.

The food is good for the price you pay. It’s more like street food not the luxury restaurant. Nice outdoor seating and they’re pet friendly. As you see my dog loved their Fajitas.

The food was fresh and tasty. Be careful with the jalapeños because they are 🔥🔥. That’s how I knew everything was freshly made. The staff were helpful with placing my order but somewhat hard to understand. The esthetics was similar to a sports bar with the lighting and tvs. It’s a cozy spot with good food. It’s in the museum district so I was able to get parking right across the street from the restaurant. If you are doing a pick up order I would advise on trying to find street parking because you will pay regular price in the garage even if it’s a short time. The parking is tied to your vehicle license plate as soon as you enter the garage and is all digital through scanning a QR code or the app.

Easy lunch stop after a museum visit. Chicken enchiladas were satisfying. Took advantage of the to go margarita as I planned to continue walking around the area.

Came here around 2pm on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded. The ordering process and getting the food was a quick process. I only needed to wait for a few minutes. I got the 3 fish tacos with side of rice and beans. The rice was okay; a little bit hard. I should have asked for more of the sauce because it was pretty good. The fish tasted fresh and well seasoned. Mostly it was a self serve on the utensils and drink. Drinks are additional charge.

Stopped by this gem in the Museum District because it's in the same building as my doctor's office. The chicken tinga breakfast tacos were delicious, not to mention stuffed so full they could barely fold. A real bargain, considering I was able to get 2 tacos plus a large coffee for under ten dollars. The only negative element to the experience was that they had no wifi for customers. To get some remote work in before setting the doctor, I had to use my phone as a Hotspot. Please consider customer wifi, Bodegas! Recommended highly for good food and atmosphere, but not great for remote workers.
