Great food, service and atmosphere. My wife and I had dinner on a Saturday evening. The only available table was outside on the patio, which had a canopy protecting us from the late afternoon sun. Our waiter, Rubin, was attentive and gave us good advice — start with four tapas dishes and take it from there. We ordered the mussels, squid with fried rice, baked goat cheese with garlic toast and crispy potatoes in spicey pork pork sauce. We ordered a bottle of Argentinian red wine. Everything was delicious, though the potatoes weren’t crispy at all. They were very flavorable. We enjoyed the food and Rubin’s outstanding service. We’ll definitely go back.

We enjoyed our time at Oporto. The best dish was the scallops with risotto; perfectly cooked and seasoned. Non of the dishes blew me away but all were tasty. Cocktails are great as well. Interior is beautifully designed.

This was one of our favorite spots. Indian Portuguese flavors (owners are fusion couple). I have definitely been here a handful of times unfortunately the last time I was here I brought my brother from New York, and the food was disappointing. I went on a Saturday evening and they were busy Maybe this was in part why. I ordered a seafood soup dish and bit into a mussel that had mud in it. The food overall was disappointing also to my brother. It didn’t taste as fresh or flavorful. I don’t know if they had a bad evening or what. I think this is a place that is worth trying at least once but not sure if it’s a “favorite” anymore.

Oporto is one of the best restaurants in Houston. Everything about this place is over the top. The staff is some of the best in the business. Our server, Shaw, was easily one of the best servers I've encountered at a restaurant. He was a walking encyclopedia. When asked about recommendations, he gave very in depth details about the dishes and how the flavors blended with each other. When we finally made up our mind on what to order, the descriptions that Shaw provided were spot on. They recommend ordering 2 dishes per person. I'd say if going on a date, and you are both very hungry, go for 4. Otherwise 3 should be sufficient. They are small plates, but your server may be able to make recommendations based on what dishes you order. My wife and I ordered 4 dishes. The Scallop Farrotto, Polvo Con Batatas, Lamb Ribs Mediterraneo, and the Seafood Curry (not pictured.) The Scallops were perfectly cooked and just melted in your mouth. The best of risotto that it was served on had a very curry based flavor, but couldn't have been paired any better. The Polvo (Octopus!) was delicious. This is a dish that they are well known for, and I can see why! If you're intimidated by trying Octopus, don't hesitate and just order it. Its insanely tender and packs delicious flavor. The Lamb Ribs were one of my favorite. From what I understand, these takw over two days to make. The meat just falls right off the bone, and the accoutrement that it is served on top of was absolutely delicious. Lastly the Seafood Curry is something I'd highly recommend. If it were socially acceptable to pickup the bowl and drink from it, I totally would. This curry packed so much flavor, that it's like pure euphoria in your mouth. Ask for extra Naan that goes with it. You'll want to scoop up every bit of this sauce. Can't say better things about this place. Their sister restaurant, Da Gamma is also on the same level - highly recommend checking out their restaurant as well. Awesome place for a date night or if you just want to enjoy a delicious meal. Certainly make reservations if possible, because this place fills up quickly. If you're unable to, enjoy some drinks at the bar while you wait, it's certainly worth it!

Portuguese tapas with an Indian twist. I've been here a bunch and the food and service have always been amazing. Reservations are recommended, and everything on the menu is delicious. Parking will be difficult; plan ahead, get a ride, or valet.

What a place!!!! This is a gem. The food is superb. Nice take on Seaford especially. Everything is well seasoned. We had the red snapper. It was the most tender and moist snapper I've ever had with perfectly crispy skin. The cocktails were wonderful. The bartenders can whip you up something flavorful and unique if you don't see anything on the menu that you like. Make reservations!!!! It's not a small place, but seating goes quickly. It's that good. You'll notice a diverse group of people from various cultures enjoying a good meal here- so that tells you there's something for everyone.

The food is good, but I was not a fan of the squid fried rice. I anticipated it would have small pieces of squid, like chicken fried rice, but there were huge pieces of fishy squid piled on top. :(. The Rocket salad was amazing. The chicken curry empanadas were tasty, but a little dry. The goat cheese and tomato spread with the bread was also delicious. Overall, it’s a pleasant place and when the weather isn’t too hot, the patio is nice.

5 stars only, because I can't give them more.... food is delicious, attention is A+. We really had an awesome experience by ordering lots of different tapas and enjoying flavors from Portugal with some spaniard mix in there.

Oporto is a great Portuguese restaurant that serves delicious food. We had calamari and baked goat cheese for appetizers, both of which were tasty. The Paelha Portuguesa had lots of meat and seafood and was really flavorful. We also enjoyed the refreshing Sangria with our meal. Overall, we had a nice dining experience and I recommend Oporto.

If your in to and out to try something new with Portuguese flavors almost a fusion of their background. Come give this place a try. We had a Brazilian sausage appetizer which just awesome. Definitely need to find something like this for our next get together. It was the dish I kept going back for more. The BBQ chicken, had a crisp skin w a juicy center, and the crispy and zesty lemon fries were just great. The banana pudding was great, just make sure to get all the flavors from the bottom up. It will change the profile completely. Can’t wait to go back to try more items.

We were here last Friday and it was a great experience at the patio. The food is amazing I especially like the scallop tapas. The waiters were attentive to us despite being really busy.

Portuguese and Indian fusion restaurant brings interesting sparkles to mid town. Overall food is great and definitely want to come back. Warm, cozy and chic ambiance make this restaurant a great place for friends to grab food and have a couple cocktails on Friday night. We were seated outdoor so we strongly suggest that management should buy bugs killer/ bugs zapper. There are just so many mosquitoes.

We dined in for dinner. Party of 4. We ordered the artichoke Chrostini, grilled octopus, curry empanadas, chicken tikka masala, scallops, cheese flatbread, sangria, house red, pastel de nata, bread pudding, and ice cream. Everything was sooo good. The only thing that I would be indifferent about re-ordering was the octopus. I really like grilled octopus and there was nothing wrong or “bad” about this plate. It was just average by comparison to the others. The flatbread/pizza was very good. Our daughter had it and honestly we could have had it for our meals too. The crust dough and sauce were very tasty and had the slightest sweetness to them. Everything else we ordered we would order again. These are tapas style plates so slightly smaller and meant to be table-shared. The sangria had some bubbly in it that was a refreshing surprise. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will stop back by Oporto!

Oporto is to me the standard by which a 5 star review is based from now on. This is a restaurant I want to have a standing reservation and visit over and over again. We arrived to Oporto for lunch with a reservation and were easily seated. The reservation wasn’t necessary but nice to have just in case. The restaurant has a nicely lit, comfortable style, elegant but not excessive or trying hard. Very good aesthetic for a date. We were seated in a booth and I really enjoyed the benches, they looked very nice and were very comfy. The staff was also very friendly and helpful with the menu and drinks. They were on point with bringing items out and making sure we were good, without being too helicopter. The food though… the food is when you witness heaven. The food is when you experience rebirth. They food is a pure expression of joy. The menu is an assortment of Portuguese items that are so beautiful. We ordered: Pao com Tomate The bread that they have here is amazing. A beautiful and fresh base with which to start. The fresh and sweet tomato pulp on the bread was really nice, just with it had flake salt or something to contrast the sweet juicy tomato. 8/10 would order again. Croquetas De Bacalhau The fried croquetas with whipped potatoes was really nice, well fried and very nice. 8/10 would get again, but not until I’ve tried other things on the menu. Cataplana Mussels Lovely muscles in their sweet bath of a sauce, we had served with bread. The muscles were good but the highlight of this was dipping the beautiful bread into the muscles sauce. I could order just those two together, but the muscles were a nice perk. 9/10 would order again. Polvo com Batatas I want to say this is awful so that you will stay away and I get it all to myself. The octopus was stunning, so tender, so flavorful, just perfection. I could eat forever and be happy. The potatoes were also so good, and with the salsa verde they were the perfect accompaniment to the octopus. 10/10 would come back for this alone. Lamb Ribs Mediterraneo This is the only item that didn’t resonate with me, but that’s more of my taste than the quality of this item I feel. The meat was so tender and flavorful, prepared just right. The pomegranate molasses was just a little to sweet and not my speed with the meat. 6/10 probably wouldn’t order again. Scallop Farrotto I weep, I applaud, I celebrate and I rejoice! The promised land is found in these scallops. So tender, beautifully seared, immaculate entry. I can’t begin praise these scallops enough. You take a bite and have to cherish and savor that bite, dreading its end and obsessed with idea of the next. 10/10 am addicted to this one. I recommend this restaurant whole heartedly, get there as fast as you can for whatever reason. It’s worth it 👍🏻⭐️

Went here for dinner. Parking was a bit weird. I had to park in a garage and they validated your ticket after meaning (its free). Or you could pay $7 for valet. I ordered the potato soup and the pahela Portuguese with a berry cocktail. It was all great choices. It tasted good and the ambience on the porch was nice. My server was very nice and attentive. I would visit here again.

I recently visited this place and was blown away by the experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with a variety of flavors that really showcased the cuisine of Portugal. The wine selection was top-notch and perfectly paired with the food, making for a truly memorable meal. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with a welcoming and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a unique dining experience and a taste of Portuguese culture. 5 stars all the way!"

I was not looking for a Portuguese restaurant. But it was worth the adventure. The food was so flavourful. Flavors I have never experienced. Our server Victor behind the bar was an expert on the menu. He led us to something between a crab cake and white fish. Steak potatoes and egg. Then finished with a colorful description of bread pudding, that was everything and more. I felt so welcomed. The staff loved the food and drinks they were serving. The lighting, fixtures, seating and patio are appealing. Great experienced

The food was delicious. The server had a hard time communicating with the kitchen. One part of the order we never got it and one order instructions were not followed. Still had a great time with the family and the food that we did get pretty quick was delicious. I’ll give them another try , they are potentially a 5 of 5.

Friday night dinner with my friend. Definitely try to make reservations on line for an easier seating experience. They have valet or you can self park. Valet is $7.00. It wasn't too crowded tonight, food and drinks came out sorta slow to start but picked up quickly. Food came out hot and delicious. It actually came all at once. The lighting was at first very dark when coming in but they provided more light as the night goes on. Great Friday night dinner, tapas style if you have a huge group of friends to try all the dishes.

I came here with high expectations and was unfortunately underwhelmed. Food: Although I admittedly am no expert on Portugues food, most of what we ordered seemed overly sweet. I know dates are sweet, but prosciutto wrapped dates did not need additional sweetness of the port balsamic sauce. I even had to request my mixed drinks to be less sweet after round 1. Nothing stood out from our order as good/great. The croquettes were good. However, I tend to find that I just generally love croquettes. I will add that it wasn't all sweet. The chorizo sandwich was overly savory. The point is there was no balance in any dish. Service: excellent. Our waitress and all supporting staff were at the top of their game. Atmosphere: Unfortunately, albeit nice, the restaurant had a strong 2000s vibe as far as the decor. Seriously, it needs an update and perhaps one that is either current or timeless. I was disappointed. The potential for this place is so great, but it's just not there. It is technically a 4 star review but a 3 star review by heart (3.67). The service is what is saving this place from a totally abysmal review.

Food, service and atmosphere all perfect! Especially their service was top notch! Very friendly servers and loved the food. Whatever you order, you will not be dissapointed. Suggestion is to get one paella and three tapas for three people.

I dont know if it's because we ordered restaurant week menu, I have to say it didnt surprise me at all. I dont have a strong feeling of coming again. I ordered jujubee as appitizer, it's too sweet even wrapped with salami. Saland is fresh but the main dish is …the taste is very normal which u can find in lots of cheaper restaurants but the fish and seafood they used are very fresh.

We visited this Portuguese fusion restaurant for dinner and were delighted by the experience. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was inviting! We had a really good time and highly recommend it as a must try place in Houston!
