Those random moments where you just go with the flow... those last minute plans... @coltivarehtx was exceptional!! That sums up our experience perfectly. When you enter the doors you're greeted by a lively room of diners. A sophisticated rustic interior that is dimly lit is a pleasant first impression. We opted for the patio and were surprised by the expansive hidden oasis that was beyond the restaurant doors. It was simply divine. Lush overgrowth of all kinds of wonderful varieties of plants and fresh herbs. Ingredients that would soon be presented at our table. The food was incredible. Insanely fresh, hot and bursting with flavor. I could describe each dish individually but it's not necessary. Everything was foodgasmic!! The service was also wonderful. Friendly, fast and extremely knowledgeable of everything related to the menu and restaurant. Generous portions and very well priced menu. We will most definitely be back!! This was truly a wonderful dining experience. A must try!

Great dinner or date night place. I like the patio where they grow some of their own crops. All the small plates (cauliflower, gigantes beans and mussels) we ordered tasted amazing and the black pepper spaghetti tastes fantastic too. The chocolate rum cake was good but nothing extraordinary. If I still have space for food, I will go for another small plates rather than dessert.

Disappointing Seating Experience on a Quiet Night at Colvitare. I visited Colvitare on the evening of 30 August 2023, hoping for a pleasant date night experience with my wife. We had planned this outing and were looking forward to a cozy meal together. Upon arriving at approximately 8:55 PM, it was immediately apparent that the restaurant was barely at half capacity, both indoors and out. However, my initial relief at seeing so many open seats quickly turned to confusion. The manager, whom I mistook for the host, decided to seat us right next to another couple, with a mere 18” of space separating us. With the abundance of available seating, I politely inquired if we could be relocated. To my dismay, his response was not only negative but lacked the understanding and accommodation one would expect from a restaurant of any caliber. He cited “potential” future patrons – a party of 5 – as the reason for not shifting us. His logic was baffling given the number of open tables. The entire ordeal was exasperating, to say the least. Time, which we hoped to spend enjoying our meal, was wasted in trying to reason with a manager clearly in need of basic hospitality training. In the end, we chose to depart, valuing our comfort and peace of mind over dining in a place where customer comfort is evidently not a priority. If this is an indicator of their approach to customer service, I’m left deeply concerned about other aspects of their operation in food quality, timing and service. We left disappointed, a night that was meant to be special turned sour due to avoidable poor service. We went to another restaurant down the street and enjoyed our date night amazingly.

One of our absolute favorite date night places. Our go to is the chicken prosciutto pizza (we add mozzarella to it) and black pepper pasta. Seating either inside or outside in the garden is nice. Parking isn’t usually difficult either. The only con is that we have occasionally felt rushed as it can get very busy at night.

Wow what an amazing experience. We ordered off the restaurant week menu for dinner. For starters I had grilled calamari and my wife got the eggplant dip. The grilled calamari was to die for. It came with veggies and a soup. The eggplant dip was also great and had a great depth of flavor. For our mains we had the squash pizza and the proper pasta. The bread for the pizza was fresh and flavorful and the squash made the pizza whole. The pasta was great as well. For dessert I had the olive oil cake and my wife had something like a chocolate pudding. Both were amazing and not overly sweet. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super helpful with the menu and very knowledgeable about the restaurant. We will be definitely be coming back.

Oh my goodness! Best Italian food I have eaten in Houston. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind. The food was amazing. I loved the fresh herbs and squash flowers on the salad. The bread was super hot out of the oven (yum!) And our pasta couldn't have been better. We had a great experience and look forward to dining outside in the garden when it cools down.

I came for the pizza. People talk about your pizza and say good things. I only had 1 slice. I wouldn't come back here for pizza. My 2 friends had 2 slices each only because service was very slow... The strawberry salad was good. The artichoke dip came with rock hard crackers eww. The spaghetti tasted exactly like kraft macaroni n cheese. I didnt hate it but my 2 very well travelled friends hated it. The meatballs were good. The agnolitti pasta we did not finish. This pasta is like a little folded envelope n the thick folded ends were still too hard. The sides of potatos n corn were good. The dessert was the best item served. Our server was sweet n kind. She gets one of the stars. Overall our meal was very lackluster. I had high hopes. One said that this isnt even real italian food. The other said that was a waste of our time n money. All 3 of us said we would not come back.

Great experience, from the food to the service. We didn't intend to order this much, but it's so hard to choose from this menu. Bring an appetite, and be willing to splurge a bit, as the menu prices aren't really that expensive and you can have a fantastically memorable meal for a surprisingly reasonable price.

My favorite restaurant ever since moving to the US from Belgium 4 years ago. Dinner at Coltivare never disappoints. Staff is incredibly friendly and the food is 10/10. Would definitely recommend the Arancini, and mussels. Their seasonal menu is phenomenal, I have tried something different all 4 times I’ve come here and loved every single dish. Could not recommend this place more, and already looking forward to my next meal here !

We absolutely love this place, they make the best cacio e pepe ever! Their flour is heaven, focaccia with burrata is amazing, although it might be too much if you're only two. Their squash pizza with pesto and pine nuts is exquisite, we added prosciutto and it was perfect. Couldn't take a picture of the first 2 as I was already drooling.

Fantastic! The grilled Broccoli salad with pecan butter was amazing. Would recommend the mushroom pizza if it is available. Ricotta gnocchi with greens was delicious. And if you are looking for zero proof enjoy the Lord Tennison's Tonic. Heated patio.

First time visiting this Italian restaurant. We didn’t have a reservation but they seated us right away anyway even though the restaurant was pretty packed. We ordered the black pepper spaghetti and the wood grilled chicken. Super delicious. Wonder mix of flavors and ingredients. We were pretty full but I saw the table next to us had ordered a couple pizzas and they looked amazing so we ordered one to go! My compliments to the chef(s) and thank you to the servers and crew.

Beautiful and delicious fresh food, beautiful ambiance and garden. And the mocktails were really good as well! It takes a while to get a reservation but definitely worth it. The charred broccoli salad had lots of flavor. The stuffed pasta was absolutely yummy and the sauce had deep flavor

We came for restaurant week - AMAZING! The wine I highlighted was so tasty for a beautiful night dining on the patio. I highly recommend the focaccia, meatballs, cauliflower & black pepper spaghetti! The best meal I’ve had in awhile and the chocolate cake was a yummy touch! Can’t wait to go back!

My boyfriend has been trying to get us to come here since we started dating 2 years ago and I’m so glad we finally did. We showed up around 7:30 pm on a Friday and were told it would be an hour wait but ended up getting seated almost immediately because someone didn’t show for their reservation. (The party actually did end up showing and we had to switch tables which really wasn’t a big deal but the manager was so nice about it and offered to buy us dessert to make up for it. It was a very kind gesture for such a minor inconvenience). Anyway, the back garden was beautiful. The food was amazing. Our waiter made great recommendations and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the night. We had shaved brussels salad, burrata and focaccia, and then the mussels (the focaccia was so good dipped in the mussels broth), and for our entree split the onion pizza. Our complimentary dessert was a strawberry pastry dessert with homemade whipped cream. Everything tasted so fresh and wonderful. Would love to keep coming back to try other items on the menu and see how it changes with the seasons!

We arrived on a late Saturday night to a packed restaurant, however we were able to get seated right away! Our server was amazing , great customer service all around. The food was sooooo delicious and came out pretty quick. Nice simple flavors . I would definitely recommend this place.

This is my favorite restaurant. Everything is on point for my preference. My husband loves it too! We always leave so pleased and wish we could go more often. Always get the same server cause he is so good at what he does! Everything is great. The only thing I would say is call ahead of time for a table, usually they're fully occupied. Space is pleasantly small so people will be closer to each other. Menu changes every now and then, drinks are so yummy!!! This, you need to try !

5 stars all the way! First time here and all I can say is we were very impressed. Came on a Sunday night and to our surprise the place was hopping. We almost drove away assuming we wouldn't get a table since we had no reservation. We decided to stop anyway and see what the wait would be. They told us 30 minutes and that we could sit out in the garden or go to their sister business next door which is a bar. We decided to wait in the garden and it only took about 10 minutes for us to get the table. Our server was very good and walked us through the menu items that we had questions on. This restaurant specializes in vegetables that are seasonal and vegetables available in their own garden. We started with the focaccia bread with the burrata it was really good. The burrata came with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and was nice and crispy. We also had the spaghetti with pepper and Parmesan which is basically cacio e pepe. This was our favorite dish it was so fresh and clean very very good. I had the ravioli filled with two different types of cheese and it came with shaved truffle on top, it was also very good. We decided to also get the crispy potatoes. They were really good as well and were seasoned to perfection. The patio outside is really nice they had heaters so it felt great. Highly recommend checking this place out but make a reservation if possible. We didn't have room for dessert this time but we will definitely try something next time we're here.
