We were in town visiting for the Labor Day weekend and we were staying on westheimer so we found this place on google maps. Seat yourself and they bring you a menu. I would absolutely suggest the speciality cocktails and shots. We tried the Irish breakfast and the Lil Richie shots. I would 100% suggest the Irish breakfast, it had a strip of bacon in the drink!! Sooo good. I also had the Hurricane cocktail. We ordered the Cajun wings and fries and the chopped steak, green beans and mashed potato’s with gravy. The menu is very reminiscent of British pub food, my chopped steak tasted like my grandma made it! Our waiter was amazing and the bartender was a GOD! Our drinks were amazing. Amazing service. Hardly a soul in the building on a Sunday afternoon around 1-2pm. Quite affordable.

I have been a long time patron of the Bull and Bear Pub. 12 years long time. Tonight, December 15th, I witnessed a fight break out at the bar. Then after another hour or so my group was leaving and saying our goodbyes by our cars. Then two of the bartenders rushed out and started yelling at me and my friend. The woman bartender was a brunette in maybe thirties yelled at us to get away from her car, a silver BMW, while the male bartender blonde hair heavy set blue button up shirt, threatened us physically. We asked them what was wrong while they continued to threaten us. Meanwhile another patron pulled a gun on us because of the staff’s aggression. We could have been shot simply because we were talking by our cars and the staff being unbelievably aggressive. I expect this to be addressed by the management. We spent over $150 tonight alone just to be harassed and threatened for our lives. You are lucky if we do not sue.

Great Pub-Restaurant. Excellent food from pizza to curries. Wonderful daily specials. Perfect Guinness pours from the bar. Chicken wings crispy skin, Chicken sandwich, and Grilled Porkchop special were all excellent. I didn't get a picture of the stuffed Jalapeños but they are a must!

I love this place. The food is awesome. It’s made fresh. They have daily specials. Everything is wonderful. The waitstaff is phenomenal. Luis, Joe and Vanessa are awesome bartenders and servers! I come here at least three or four times a week just for the friendly faces, and great atmosphere!! It really helps me wind down from a hard day at work! You have got to check this place out!! My only complaint is that they don’t have a pool table, BUT, they do have some awesome brand new steel dart boards that are actually lit up… and if you can find it, you gotta look for the Vigo/Bob Ross picture!! SCAVENGER HUNT!! No but seriously this is a great place with awesome food, and a ton of beer choices!!!

First time coming here. I was craving a pork chop and googled pork chops near me and this place popped up i went ordered and it took a long time to come out even though i was told 15-20 i was probably there 40 min but it was worth the wait it was very tender flavorful and that sauce on top perfect i forgot to take photos of it as i was so hungry lol only thing ill say is I didn't need a whole onion slivered on top lol but it was amazing will visit again

I have been a loyal customer to this establishment for quite some time. But yesterday, after being told by a long haired Hispanic looking guy that I would not be served I realized that this business doesn't deserve my money. There have been multiple occasions where I could have left a bad review: the countless times that I have ordered their philly cheese steak and saw it delivered w raw meat in it( I asked them to recook it and didn't deliver a negative review), a time when a customer felt comfortable enough in their establishment to prompt to tell a "black joke" the managers did not stop them.( Creating a toxic environment for me, a black customer). The last time I was there I brought a salads because clearly I didn't feel comfortable eating their food and ordered a drink, not only did it take forever for me to get my drink( the lady told me she didn't get my order that I did tell her) ,after i finished my salad I was told that it was against their health code. Why they wouldn't tell me until after I finished is beyond me. Yesterday I was told they wouldn't serve me rudely. You're better off dinning in at another restaurant or going to specs. That way you can get quality drinks and fully cooked food, and polite staff.

The staff is great, friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is pub-like. I have eaten here before and the food was good, but this time... I really wanted to like the steak special but the steaks were tough. Both the sirloin and T-bone were hard to cut, even with that big steak knife. Either marinate or buy a better cut of beef please.

Today We stopped in this place which has been around for a very, very longtime in the Houston area. They serve all kinds of meals and appetizers and have daily specials as well. Place has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. They have a couple of big screens to catch our local sports teams. Great place to take a date or wife to get out and do something else for a change.

Good all American food, burgers, pizza, fries, etc. It is a bar and grill and their choice of libations is wide. Though they say they're a sports bar, the booze is more visible than the TV screens. Their sound system was playing Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Tull, etc. I will be returning.

Our service was slow. Took an hour to receive our nachos and we had to ask our server to take our orders! My ribeye was ordered to be a medium rare. It was raw. The meat had tendons or gristle thru it to the point that I couldn't cut it. Server did not return for over 30 min to check on us after food was brought. So my dinner party was finished with their food before I could report my dissatisfaction with my steak. So, I returned it. I ate 3 bites of lettuce... because I never had the opportunity to ask for more dressing. My other side was mashed potatoes that I asked to be on the side (for my son) and they were on a curved plate with my steak... which left the potatoes to swim in the Raw blood of the steak. I received about 4-6oz of soup. It was good, but I only ate half... One would fully expect to have this disaster dish Removed from my tab, yet the server charged me for a soup and salad. I gave a $5 tip, which was more than deserved. My plans of going there again changed. I'd rather get domino's pizza than waste my time and money in this unfortunate restaurant. Sad. Seemed like a fun place with decent prices. But the server destroyed the entire experience. Perhaps if she did her job my steak could have been corrected.

This is a great place to relax, and enjoy a great meal! The drinks are made with care, and perfectly mixed. The vast choices of beer and lager on tap is great too! The bartenders are professional and very friendly too!

The food is amazing and the menu is like no other. I tried their specialty pizza, their ribeye steak, and the chicken curry. All amazing. Nice cozy spot for food, drinks and games.

Best lamb shank...pretty much any lamb dish they serve is delicious. They have daily food specials fir the more reserved pallet. The pizza is good! I don't think I've had a bad meal yet. Super friendly staff. It has that "cheers" vibe. It's my go to during the day.

Been coming to this place a few times a week or more for over a year both solo and with others. The daily food specials are good and very well priced. Luis and Stephen make it a great place to hang out. They remember names, they work quickly and are always attentive even when its busy. You can get a beer anywhere but being remembered and feeling welcome is the best part because of them.

Great food, I've had their soups, brugers and fries, all were great. Good environment and they always host special events on weekends. Very friendly staff too.

The people are so nice here! Our waitress was super and so accommodating!! We were performing as part of Revels Houston's fundraiser and they were so good about making sure we had everything we needed! Great drinks and food too!!

Great place, food and a wide range of drinks. Customer service was great. Well priced for what we got. For a pub showing sports (both British and US), the volume was in a sweet spot to be audible without being overbearing. Would recommend giving it a try!

Great pub food and nonalcoholic drinks are generously huge! Very excellent casual pub atmosphere here and it's bigger than it looks outside! However, why they got to freeze their cakes? The waitress was nice enough to replace my chocolate cake with the bread pudding, which is very fresh and warm.

What a pleasant surprise ! We came from the Pittsburgh area to Houston for my brother's funeral, found this place 3 blocks from our hotel. We was really really impressed. We vacationed last year in Ireland and visited a lot of pubs. This place has a strong Irish presents ,great food & Great weight staff 💯👍

I love The Bull and Bear! Been coming here for years. Great beer selection and awesome staff (specially Stephen and Luis).

This is purely for the food. Don't know who the new chef is and don't care but you can sure tell the difference in the food. Sausages burnt on ends nice and crunchy, baked beans were barely warm, mashed potatoes tasted like they were made from a packet and were swamped by the gravy, which was not hard as I nearly had to play hunt the mash it was so small. This is not your standard the food is normally excellent. Pretty grim when it is your only meal of the day.

If you want the feel of a real authentic tavern, one you'd find in Ireland or England...come here! Sophisticated but casual...refined but welcoming. One of, if not THEE best bar in Houston. And their hamburger and fries and the bun they serve is toasted so nicely. WONDERFUL food. Not what youd expect as "bar food" at all. The owner is warm and personable. Guys.....you gotta visit this bar. And no, I'm not being paid or encouraged to write this review. It's simply my experience.

Pretty decent food, service was great, and crowd is more on the older side. Karaoke was nice!

Amazing place. Come here practically every week since I work across the street. Food is great whether it's a steak or burger, never had to complain and the staff are kind. Love the atmosphere of the place and daily lunch specials.

Nut allergy friendly here. Stellar neighborhood UK-centric bar with a great vibe for the world cup. I didn't get her name, but one of the bartender/waitresses was phenomenal, timely, and even remembered our names from open tabs. Food is very reasonably priced and my burger came out medium rare when I've paid more at actual burger places that mess up an order. They even occasionally do a free app with a beer pitcher order, which is incredible. Would return for a game again.
